Chapter 78 The real goal

"Teacher Harvey, has Dinah returned to the academy?"

"Back." Harvey's expression became serious: "Lilith, I hope you will think carefully before deciding what to do next time. If you told us about Dinah sneaking into the Frost Forest in the first place, it would be wrong.

You will be in danger."

"I'm sorry, I won't do this again next time." Lilith was a little disappointed after hearing this. How could she have thought that a Warg-level monster would appear on the edge of the Frost Forest.

"I have talked to several of them individually, but there is still some information that I need to verify with you."

"Lilith, you don't have to be afraid, Harvey is just trying to better understand the situation." Carol patted the girl's hair and said.

"Well, Teacher Harvey, I will definitely tell you everything I know."

Harvey nodded, leaning against the wall next to the window, a brown notebook appeared out of thin air in his right hand, recording information about this matter.

Harvey quickly flipped through a few pages of the book and said, "Lilith, you and Lancelot went to the Frost Forest to find Dinah and Amanda, right?"

"Yes." The girl immediately answered in the affirmative.

"Then do you know why Dinah and the others braved the wind and snow to enter the Frost Forest?"

Lilith shook her head.

"As expected." Harvey said, picking up the quill on the table and writing something in the notebook.

"Second question, do you know who the person who attacked you is?"

"I don't know, but I'm pretty sure the other person is a wizard, and he's very powerful."

Harvey and Carol looked at each other after hearing this. They knew exactly what the other was thinking at this moment.

"Dina and Amanda also met a mysterious guy in the Frost Forest." Harvey slowed down as he spoke, "But according to what she said, it doesn't seem to be the wizard who attacked you and Lancelot."

"Teacher Harvey, you mean there was more than one enemy near us at that time?"

"Yes, although Dinah and I were not attacked, it is obvious that these guys are targeting you."

Lilith's eyes widened when she heard this, and she was filled with doubts at this moment: "But, how could they predict in advance that Lancelot and I would go to the Frost Forest that night?"

Carol also spoke at this time: "Harvey, do you mean that Dinah and Amanda are just bait to lure out Lilith?"

"It's just my guess at the moment, but maybe they didn't do this to lure out Lilith, but..."

"Is it Lancelot?!" Lilith exclaimed, and she instantly understood what Harvey meant.

"Harvey, do you have any basis?" Carol was also shocked by the other party's words and quickly asked: "Lancelot is just a child from a small village, how could he be targeted by those people for no reason?"

"Don't get excited yet." Harvey's tone was very calm as he explained: "I was shocked when I had such an idea at first. When I rescued Lancelot last night, I observed him carefully.

Although the wound was very deep, it happened to avoid vital organs."

"Then, what does this mean?" Lilith couldn't keep up with Harvey's train of thought.

"The warg is the leader of the wolf pack. Its combat power and ferocity are far superior to ordinary ice wolves. Lancelot's physical fitness is simply unable to withstand its attack."

Lilith nodded, she knew this, and waited quietly for the next step.

"According to common sense, the warg could easily tear Lancelot's body apart, but it did not do so. Obviously the person behind it did not want to kill Lancelot."

"But that doesn't prove your conclusion," Carol retorted.

"Don't worry, just listen to what I have to say." Harvey glanced at the notebook in his hand again and continued: "If the enemy's target is Lilith, then Lancelot is of no use to them, so there is no need to be merciful.

Spare his life."

"Teacher Harvey, I still think this reason is too far-fetched." Lilith said and shook her head. Harvey's words did not convince the girl.

"I will find evidence to prove it." Harvey showed a confident smile and walked to the hospital bed.

"Lilith, Lancelot has forgotten something, it's up to you to return it to him."

As soon as she finished speaking, Lilith saw that the notebook in Harvey's hand instantly turned into a weapon similar to a dagger. It turned out to be Lancelot's battle gun left in the frost forest.

"This is..." Carol's eyes flashed when she saw the war gun.

"Aunt Carol, this is a birthday gift from Aunt Gloria to me. I have already given it to Lancelot." Lilith explained to Carol while taking over the heavy war gun.

"But why did it get so big?" Carol's eyes were full of questions. She remembered that when Lilith showed it to her, it was not as big as a palm.

"This war gun seems to be able to change its shape by absorbing the blood in the monster's body. This was discovered by Lancelot by accident."

"So that's it. No wonder your Uncle Caesar wants it so much." Carol teased as she looked at the silver-colored war gun in Lilith's hand.

"Lilith, thank you for your cooperation, then I won't disturb your rest." Harvey gestured to Carol: "Carol, it's time for you to go back and rest."

"It doesn't matter, I can sleep on the empty bed." Carol stood up and sent Harvey out.

"Click." Carol locked the door and couldn't help but yawned. She turned around and found Lilith on the hospital bed looking at her quietly.

"Lilith, what's wrong?"

The girl didn't speak, just showed an apologetic smile.

Carol walked to the girl's bedside, leaned over and kissed the girl's forehead.

"Good night, dear."

"Good night."

The fire on the candlestick suddenly went out, and the whole room fell into darkness.

Carol didn't sleep a wink all day and fell asleep as soon as she lay down.

Lilith turned over on the hospital bed and faced the window.

The moonlight was cold and the college was silent at night.

The girl had been sleeping for a long time and was not sleepy at all now. The sound of the howling wind and snow in the frost forest kept echoing in her mind.

Lilith could never erase the horrifying scene: a blizzard was covering the sky, and the mutilated corpses of ice wolves could be seen everywhere. The weak Lilith struggled to crawl towards the dying Lancelot, while the wargs not far away stared at a pair of scarlet wolves.

eyes, staring at the two of them coldly.

This was the first time Lilith tasted despair. She thought she would die in the Frost Forest, but fortunately Harvey arrived in time to save her and Lancelot.

The girl forced herself to close her eyes and not think about the terrible experience that happened last night.

When she woke up, she went to find Lancelot.
