Highway 45 from Mengban County to Mengnai County passes through two mountains that stand vertically from north to south.

These are the Wango Mountains and the Pangkang Mountains.

Each hilltop position has a machine gun position consisting of a light machine gun, or even a heavy machine gun position.

However, the combined number of several hilltop positions amounted to no more than a hundred people and less than ten light and heavy machine guns.

Obviously, the Southern Shan State Army did not regard this as a key defense line.

The remaining few remaining Shan State Army soldiers gave up resistance and raised their hands to surrender.

After several consecutive attacks, Southern Shan State lost several important hilltop positions one after another.

After the position with the highest altitude and the largest number of troops deployed was lost, the remaining Shan State Army soldiers began to abandon their positions and retreat deep into the jungle.

Obviously the order they received was not to stick here.

As several hilltop positions guarding Route 45 in the Wango Mountains were breached one after another, the Shan State Army South took the initiative to retreat, marking that the Shan State Army South’s defense line in the Wango Mountains was breached.

The 1st Battalion, 1st Combined Brigade, Corps, continued to advance along Route 45.

Therefore, these warlords in Myanmar have moved the poppy plantations and drug manufacturing factories away from the plain areas and surrounding cities where they were originally attacked, and opened up river valleys and gentle slopes deep in the virgin forests to develop poppy plantations and drug manufacturing factories.
