I remember when the previous book ended, I mentioned in the afterword that towards the end of "Attributes," I could only fall asleep with the help of melatonin, and even then, I slept very late and for a very short time. In the end, I basically had headaches every day, feeling like I was dying.

Therefore, after "Attributes" ended, I took a month off to rest and adjust. I won't mention how difficult it was, but thankfully, I recovered. Although my sleep time is still short, it's much better than before.

For all enemies, all villains, all despicable people, the new book's protagonist, Li Hai, will definitely be decisive in killing, and even quite cruel at times.

But for innocent civilians, relatives, and friends, Li Hai will retain great kindness. This kindness, unique to ordinary people in China, is the warmth that has always been boiling in his heart, stemming from his humble origins.

The cultural foundation of Western civilizations is piracy, plunder, and colonization, while our cultural foundation is the opposite: kindness.

Perhaps some readers will say: Isn't this just a saint? The protagonist should indiscriminately kill the innocent, killing anyone he sees, regardless of whether they are good or bad, even splitting earthworms in half and scrambling chicken eggs.

Personally, I don't consider this decisive killing, but rather an ultimate super-male with an antisocial personality.

To be honest, I've written too much of this kind of character in my previous book. I'm already aesthetically fatigued, and perhaps many readers are also tired of it.

The world is becoming more and more extreme, from the north to the south, from the east to the west, everywhere seems to be bewitched, feeling increasingly deranged, and with the derangement comes the evil of human nature.

So... even though my own personality traits are somewhat biased towards being stubborn and extreme, which may unconsciously lead me to write characters who are also extreme.

I still want the characters to have a foundation of kindness, not so despicable, not so wretched, and not so tyrannical.

At least, after reading it, readers will feel that no matter how many villains and thugs Li Hai kills, he is still someone suitable to be a friend, just that simple.

In short, the tone of this book, "Cultivation," is completely different from "Attributes." This is also the result of my deep reflection.

However, this also means that the overall pace and intensity of the new book are not as strong as the previous book, "Attributes." It feels a bit like a slow simmer, which has also led to the current data for the new book not being ideal.

But old readers know that I am not the kind of person who easily stops updating, because a book not only contains my hard work but also the emotional investment of the readers.

So even if my results are not ideal, I will still write diligently like an old ox.
