I created the Bureau of Anomaly Control
#91 - 90. Blood Feather (Please read it later~)
As Maen's residence came into view, Ian and Lavinia simultaneously adjusted the spread of their wings, gradually decreasing their altitude and speed.
"Can you give me a moment?" Ian asked his companion, "I want to remove the invisibility spell and say a few words to Maen. Even though we're here to kill him, there are still some things I want to tell him."
Lavinia frowned slightly:
"Why?"
Ian said calmly:
"He probably doesn't even know what he did wrong. After all, mortals can't see Chen Yun's saintly nature falling, and from his perspective, he can't understand the meaning of what we're doing. I think at least he has the right to know why he ended up this way."
She agreed somewhat reluctantly:
"Alright, but if he shows anything out of the ordinary, I'll stab the Flame Sword straight into his chest. Don't forget, we still have to return to the battlefield after we deal with him."
The two angels landed one after the other in front of Maen's door. Ian retracted his wings and then canceled the invisibility spell.
Thump, thump.
Crack.
Maen opened the door.
He looked at the familiar man standing in front of him, and the winged female angel behind him, paused almost imperceptibly, and then forcibly used his telekinesis to keep his gaze on the former.
"You are?"
Ian said:
"I'm from the Church. I'm here because of the last matter. I have something to say to you."
He was referring to the last "confession."
Maen revealed a look of understanding:
"Come in and talk?"
Ian nodded:
"Of course."
Maen turned around, very ordinarily leaving his back to them, but creating several layers of high-intensity telekinetic shields between them, and only turned around after walking to the sofa.
Watching the two angels who had already entered, telekinetic power flowed down his legs like water, surging in all directions, spreading vertically upwards when it hit the walls and the door, and finally covering the entire ceiling.
Now, they couldn't escape.
But Maen was somewhat puzzled…
Where had he shown a flaw?
Not only had he accepted the interrogation as if he were innocent, but he had also answered every question they threw at him almost perfectly. How did these angels know?
Could it be the changes in the Coordination Bureau that led to this?
Suddenly, he received a request from Xiang Yudi to apply for containment and use of the Blood Dagger's properties.
Maen approved his request in his mind, but logically speaking, there was still a considerable amount of time before the scheduled completion date of the Gate of Hell. What was going on? And no one else had submitted any information to him.
"Would you like something to drink?" Maen asked the two angels, while accumulating his telekinetic power around them, ensuring that he could launch a fatal attack on them at any time.
Lavinia, who still didn't know anything, showed Maen a look of disgust, as if he were some dirty maggot that would blaspheme the sacred.
"No, thank you," Ian said apologetically, "I have a very regrettable thing to tell you."
"What?" Maen stood there looking at him.
Ian paused:
"Actually, the reason we asked those questions was because we suspected you were related to the Saint assault incident back then. And recently, the angels of the Church have decided to launch a Holy Hunt against the Fallen, and therefore intend to capture you for secret interrogation."
Lavinia urged impatiently:
"There's no need to waste so much time talking to a mortal. Just tell him what crime he's committed."
Maen looked at Ian, showing a listening expression.
Ian asked:
"I'm going to tell you something, and if possible, I hope you can answer one of my questions."
Maen nodded:
"Speak."
Ian said:
"Actually, I'm the angel who came to judge you, but the reason for this judgment isn't the Fallen incident, but after you were discharged from the hospital, the Saint's mind suffered a serious negative impact. In order to prevent her from falling into the mortal realm, the angels decided to eliminate you, the cause of this trouble.
"Do you know who the Saint is?"
Maen looked at him calmly and puzzled.
He originally thought that he had been exposed, but Ian's statement overturned this conjecture. These angels were going to kill him, but the reason wasn't that he had killed their comrades, but…
He had a negative impact on Chen Yun's mind?
Ian saw the confusion in Maen's eyes:
"This is a very serious situation. Her feelings for you have been affected by the tragedy when she was a child, and have become somewhat unhealthy, to the point that it's affecting her faith."
Maen asked knowingly:
"Chen Yun?"
The angel nodded:
"That's right. And I asked the Archangel, and he told me something very important, which is that the ones who killed You Yue back then were the two angels guarding Chen Yun. Therefore, if you really betrayed her and helped the Fallen carry out the attack, I can understand.
"That's my question. Did you participate in that incident?
"You don't need to lie, because no matter what your answer is, I will kill you."
Maen looked at him expressionlessly:
"Are you asking me?"
If they were a group of thugs who enjoyed killing, Maen wouldn't care. If they said they had noticed his identity and came to deal with him, he wouldn't be angry.
But they were showing this kind of attitude…
Ian said in confusion:
"Of course I'm asking you."
"Don't you think you're ridiculous?" Maen asked, suppressing his anger, "You know very well that you're doing the wrong thing, and you want to ask this question to alleviate your guilt.
"If I answer yes, can you claim that you're doing the right thing?
"Do you think killing a good person who avenged innocent people is more in line with your moral principles than killing the innocent themselves?"
Ian said blankly:
"You don't understand, this is God…"
Lavinia said coldly:
"Ian, they killed witches who were born guilty, not little girls. Don't be bewitched by him."
A cold rage appeared on Maen's face, his eyes seeming to have solidified lightning, and the words he uttered were like flowing magma:
"How dare you think that a god who sends his subordinates to hunt innocent people can represent justice?"
Ian's face turned pale. He suddenly felt that something was wrong with his world:
"I…"
Lavinia couldn't bear it anymore. She suddenly drew her Flame Sword and swung it angrily at Maen's head:
"Blasphemous mad…"
The female angel suddenly noticed Maen looking at her, and then silence overwhelmed her thoughts like a tide.
Rumble!
Thunder tore through the air, and blood turned into a setting sun.
Blood-stained feathers scattered and fell with the wind, the burning Flame Sword fell heavily on the floor, and Lavinia looked blankly at her feet…
There, a woman's severed arm was lying alone.
Only then did they realize…
Maen was the Fallen.
