840 You Have Ten Seconds

Upon seeing the drastic change in old man Mida's expression, Muscle Lantern peeked into the Resume, staring at the line before glaring at Compass.

He got up with a start and arrived before the other party, "You think this is a joke?"

"I'm not joking though." Compass calmly waved his hand.

"I had enough of your delusional antics." Muscle Lantern grabbed Compass's hand, intending to lift him and throw him out of the house for his disrespect, 'Old man Mida is sensitive regarding the Contained Villain. Pulling such a prank on him is distasteful.'

He was pretty pissed about the fact, unconsciously exerting more strength in his hold as he yanked the other party, realising an instant late as he regretted it immediately, 'That would shatter a regular human's bones…'

But only then did his mind process what had transpired. His arm was still there, unmoving despite his strength exertion. The hand of Compass remained as is, not even budging a millimetre. His expression was calm as his eyes gazed up to stare at Muscle Lantern, "I'm not joking though."

"Seems you have some strength in you." Muscle Lantern smirked before strengthening his hold further, causing his muscles to bulge slightly, 'I'll use a tenth of my strength this time.'

"Is that it?" Compass only let out a casual smirk in response, "I was expecting more from the infamous Hero, Muscle Lantern."

'This bastard knows my identity? Is he a Villain?' At that thought, Muscle Lantern didn't hold back any longer, using most of his strength, only then staring in shock at the fact that even now, Compass didn't budge.

"Who the heck are you?" Muscle Lantern glared in alarm.

"I believe I introduced myself." Compass smirked, "The name's Compass Carburettor, nice to meet you."

"Just like everyone else, Contained Villain is just my Villain name."

"I've faced the Contained Villain in the past. You don't look like him." Old man Mida had regained his cool by now, "You seem strong, but you're not the Contained Villain."

"Well, how do I prove it to you…" Compass Carburettor scratched his ear a little before pointing at the desk, unleashing a starlight stream onto it as immediately, the table morphed in shape, turning into a tiny doll, a mix between a cat and a table. "Does that prove things?"

Bang!

Old man Mida got up with a start, his mana billowing out for an instant before he controlled himself, unwilling to alarm his family members. Upon seeing that Compass Carburettor hadn't even exerted any power himself, he took in deep breaths before asking, "Why are you here?"

"To become a teacher in the Hero Academy you create." Compass Carburettor let out a smile, "I wish to train the next generation of Heroes of this world."

"What are you planning to do with them?" Old man Mida glared, motioning for Muscle Lantern to step to the side so that he may protect his family.

"I'll properly train them." Compass Carburettor said, not expressing an ounce of dissatisfaction until now.

"Tell the truth!" Old man Mida glared, "If you are planning to do anything, then even if I have to stake my life, I'll seal you here until the Genesis Hero arrives."

"Oh, try it then." Compass Carburettor extended his hand, "I won't retaliate for ten seconds. If you can kill me by then, it's your win."

"You think we'll play into your scheme?" Muscle Lantern glared, making his ultimate attack ready to slam into the enemy. He might lose even more intelligence, but that didn't matter now, for the enemy was dangerous enough to level a city casually.

"Your attacks would unleash shockwaves that might destroy this house. So, you stay put there." Compass Carburettor stared at Muscle Lantern before glancing over at old man Mida, counting down, "Ten…nine…eight…"

Old man Mida didn't hesitate, having already decided to attack the enemy, especially since he had proved himself to be the Contained Villain, or at least was able to use the Contained Villain's power.

Followed by a spark, every ounce of his energy condensed into his hand to transform into a knife, filled with a crimson radiance, brimming with the power of heat, corrosion, poison, and acid.

"Die!" Followed by a grunt, his figure flickered before Compass Carburettor as he thrust forth with the knife, plunging it into the opponent's forehead, grunting upon meeting resistance, "What?"

His senses expanded outward, focused on his knife to see it stop a millimetre from Compass Carburettor's forehead. And as he focused further, he observed that his knife had indeed made contact, not with the forehead, but with a thin little strand of facial hair jutting out of his forehead.

Faint sparks not visible to the naked eye flickered at the edge of the strand of hair as it met with the knife.

"Grahh!" Old man Mida exerted all his strength, unable to move the knife any further as he was alarmed to find out that even that puny strand of hair didn't bend under his power. It remained unaffected.

He retracted the knife and targeted the chest, noticing that this time, a strand from the fabric had stopped his thrust. The most insignificant of entities casually blocked his strongest attack.

"Humph!" Muscle Lantern took action upon noticing old man Mida's struggle, activating his trump card to flash behind Compass Carburettor and punch him in the head, resulting in a sonorous thunderclap.

Ding!

"Kyak!" Millie screamed in fright as the glass of her house shattered. Even though she didn't hear anything, she felt an intense headache. Her mother too was experiencing the same.

Everyone in the street flinched in shock when the glass windows of all the buildings shattered simultaneously.

Muscle Lantern unleashed the beam of light, intending to soften Compass Carburettor's body, gasping in shock to see the light failing to cast over the other party. Rather, it was being blocked by something mysterious right before it touched him.

"Three…two…one." Compass Carburettor smiled as he lifted his hand, watching the two Heroes leap back in alarm, "Relax, I'm not going to attack you."

He then fished out a card and placed it on the ground before taking his leave, "There are enough funds in that card to build a top-class Academy. I believe I've proved my experience."

"I'll come to receive my students once the Hero Academy opens." Saying so, he exited the house, walking away as a normal person would.
