I have an eye of truth
#2 - Encounter with the Claw Monster
“What the hell is this place?” Feeling the surrounding heat and the completely different atmosphere, Wang Yang was now utterly panicked, his mind a complete mess.
He was just climbing a mountain, did he really deserve this?
Why is it that when other people transmigrate, they get all sorts of benefits and girls throwing themselves at them, but when it's his turn, it becomes a doomsday escape?
Just as he was lost in thought, a fireball slammed down in front of him with a 'boom,' completely destroying a building.
Fragments grazed his face, and Wang Yang finally snapped out of it.
“My god, this is too dangerous.”
In his panic, Wang Yang turned and ran in the opposite direction without thinking, not realizing he was running back the way he came.
At this moment, Wang Yang wasn't the only one panicking; in fact, there were quite a few people in the city who were in a state of panic.
Everywhere he looked, he could see crowds of people running around like a disturbed anthill, and Wang Yang was surrounded by them as well.
But as he ran, the people around him became fewer and fewer, and he didn't know if they had hidden or had all died.
Panic is contagious, and as the number of people around him decreased, Wang Yang actually calmed down a bit.
Of course, it was also possible that he was just too tired to run around aimlessly, and his IQ was finally starting to reclaim the high ground.
However, as Wang Yang calmed down, he looked around and felt like crying but no tears came out.
What was once a perfectly good city was now basically a ruin.
“Looks like my luck isn't too bad.”
Wang Yang could only comfort himself like this. The fireballs in the sky were already scarce, or rather, the initial wave had already finished falling.
There was no one around, just him alone.
The originally intact buildings had turned into ruins, like a scene from a disaster movie where monsters had just ravaged the place.
But when he found himself in such a disaster movie, he realized that the feeling wasn't good at all.
With a 'clatter,' a shattered GG brand sign fell to the ground, interrupting Wang Yang's thoughts.
“The most important thing now isn't to lament here, but to figure out how to get back, or at least find a way to survive in this world.” Wang Yang's mind regained its composure, and he finally began to consider his situation.
What he didn't expect was that the GG sign suddenly flipped open from below, making a loud crashing sound.
Almost instinctively, Wang Yang turned his head to look, only to see a huge, grotesque claw reaching out and pushing the GG sign away.
The sound he had just heard was from this claw pushing the GG sign.
From the ruins, a monster covered in red, with incredibly grotesque sinews all over its body, leaped out.
This monster looked to be only the size of a child, with bent legs but able to walk upright, and with a strong jumping ability.
Its arms, however, were unusually thick, almost thicker than his own thighs.
Its palms had mutated into huge claws that gleamed with a cold, metallic light in the sunlight and firelight.
“What is this monster? Monster, go find someone else, don't come looking for me.”
The just calmed down Wang Yang panicked again, turned around and ran, not knowing where he got the strength from.
But as soon as Wang Yang ran, he immediately attracted the attention of the monster.
The monster turned its head to look at Wang Yang's fleeing back, and suddenly leaped with force, its entire body jumping out with great speed.
This seemingly uncoordinated body burst out with incredibly fluid movements.
Feeling a gust of wind behind him, Wang Yang didn't even know what was happening, and instinctively rolled on the ground.
The gust of wind brushed past his body, and Wang Yang saw that the monster had appeared where he had just been standing.
Its thick claws shattered a piece of the broken wall, even cutting through the steel bars inside.
The monster turned its head and looked at Wang Yang again, seemingly surprised that its attack had been dodged.
Tilting its head, it looked at Wang Yang, and then the monster leaped again, another claw strike.
This time, Wang Yang saw the monster's attack method clearly, but the situation didn't allow him to think too much.
Instinctively, he rolled to the side again, and the monster's claws directly pierced into the ground, tearing open the road.
“What the hell is this thing? First a meteor shower, then monsters, what the hell is happening to this world?” This was definitely not a normal world, and if it weren't for the pain in his body, Wang Yang would have thought he was dreaming.
Having done his best to dodge twice, Wang Yang had basically exhausted his strength at this point.
If it came again, he probably wouldn't be able to dodge it.
But the monster was fine, pulled out its claws, and leaped towards Wang Yang again.
“It's over, I'm going to die this time, I knew I shouldn't have come out to climb the mountain.” Wang Yang thought to himself.
But just as the monster leaped up, at the highest point of its jump, it suddenly seemed to be hit by a huge impact, its entire body deformed backwards, and then exploded in the air, its head turning into a rotten watermelon.
At this time, the loud sound rang in his ears, and a series of explosions erupted in the ruins in front of him.
“Kid, hide quickly, don't you know how dangerous it is now? Clawed Fiends are not something you can deal with.”
Hearing the voice, Wang Yang looked back and saw a middle-aged man wearing sunglasses shouting at him.
“Oh, oh, I'm leaving now.” Wang Yang's mentality was still a bit dazed, but under the urging of instinct, he controlled himself to get up and ran to the ruins of a nearby building that hadn't completely collapsed, running in through the entrance.
Stopping, Wang Yang felt his heart pounding like a drum, constantly beating as if it could jump out of his throat at any moment, his whole body soaked in cold sweat.
Who would have thought that he, living in a peaceful era, would experience so many things in such a short period of time.
Even a young and strong lad was now exhausted.
“Wait, what was that just now? That can't be described as an ordinary hunting rifle.”
Calming down, Wang Yang suddenly thought of the middle-aged man who had saved his life, the thick and long firearm in his hand, that was a sniper rifle, right?
And that middle-aged man was clearly not wearing a military uniform.
When did civilians get access to such weapons?
No, this world has monsters, and since there are monsters, then it seems somewhat normal for civilians to have such weapons at home.
Wang Yang realized that in a short period of time, his ability to accept things seemed to have become much stronger.
“That's right, that monster was called a Clawed Fiend, it has a name, which means it's not a single one, at least it's appeared before.
Damn it, this world is too dangerous, how can I get back?”
Wang Yang didn't want to stay here any longer; his life could be in danger at any moment.
