I'm Actually The Big Villain In The Book

Volume Iv Summary And Reflections

Volume IV Summary and Reflections

Coincidentally, the fourth volume has exactly 111 chapters, about 250,000 words.

In the outline, the three or four volumes should have been connected, that is to say, the total content of the two volumes should have been less than 300,000 words.

But at the end of the writing, it nearly doubled the number of words.

Of course, this is not water (I don’t admit it!), but I tried my best to write the motives, internal logic, and plot advancement of the supporting characters in more detail than the original plan.

In the previous chapter of Folian Temple, I asked everyone if the story of the supporting role should be written in more detail, and most of the answers I got were affirmative, so I did so.

In fact, this is really not as easy as just writing about Wei Changtian.

Back to volume four.

I have mixed feelings when writing this volume. This can also be seen from the update of the last dozen chapters. It is very irregular, and the number of words in each chapter varies, which is very irregular.

In fact, the entire fourth chapter tells a big plot——

Ning Yongnian's shocking layout around Yuanzhou City, and Wei Changtian's firm determination to rebel.

In order to make it all seem as reasonable and natural as possible, I used almost an entire volume of content to lay the groundwork.

I know that, even so, most of the readers who read the book will still feel that the result is sudden when they see the end.

After all, according to the general routine, Wei Changtian will definitely act at the critical moment to destroy Ning Yongnian's plot and save the lives of three million people.

In the end he couldn't do anything.

Including the previous "Slaying Yan Luo", it also failed twice.

I understand that writing this may not be a conscious choice for grades.

But I wrote it anyway.

There are three main reasons for this.

First.

Now that this book is written, or since Xiao Feng's death, the development of the plot is no longer the traditional cycle of "killing monsters, upgrading, and changing maps".

The thirteen new sons of Heavenly Dao did not let Wei Changtian kill them one by one to repeat the nesting dolls.

These people have their own stories, and they will have opposing or non-adversarial positions and intersections with Wei Changtian. Everyone is not just a supporting role of "appearing and being killed".

Since they have abilities and tricks that are not weaker than Wei Changtian's, they shouldn't die so easily.

Only when they are portrayed more three-dimensionally through a lot of pen and ink, through joyful or sad plots, can this kind of characters stand up.

second.

Wei Changtian is right from time travel, and he has a system.

But I don’t know if you’ve noticed, from the beginning to the end of this book, Wei Changtian never got any kind of treasure because of his “luck”, nor did he get any chance because of his “luck”.

Everything he obtained was achieved through the foresight of the original work in the early stage, cutting Hu Xiaofeng.

The late stage is obtained through a series of planning.

Because there is no luck bonus, it is naturally impossible for him to be "omnipotent".

When faced with certain situations, powerlessness is powerlessness.

You can see that those coincidences that should have appeared on the "protagonist" will even appear on the "villains" such as Bai Youheng and Ning Yongnian.

This is unflattering, but reasonable.

third.

I want to give Wei Changtian a really plausible motive for his actions.

I have been reading online articles for more than ten years.

From "Zhu Xian", "Bad Guy", "Very Pure", etc., until now.

There are many good ones written in Xianxia and Fantasy online articles, but most of the works always make me think about a question.

I only saw the protagonist constantly fighting monsters, killing people, winning treasures, and leveling up. But what is his reason for doing so?

Self-protection?

But compared to rushing in front of those big forces to pretend, and then being chased and killed by the latter, shouldn't it be the best self-protection to live a life of peace and harmony?

Or is it the pursuit of longevity?

Then just hide and meditate.

I know it's not a novel if you write it like this, but I still feel that the protagonist's motivation is not clear enough.

Up to now, only the explanation in Ergen's "Xian Ni" has impressed me the most.

"Since ancient times, those who obey the sky have been the darlings of heaven and earth. Behind this darling is the body of an ant! My way is not to follow the sky, but to walk in heaven-defying with the touch of my heart, and to cultivate against immortals. , not only longevity, but more, it is to get rid of the ant body behind it, so that it will be reversed."

After so many years, I have completely forgotten what story Xianni told, but I still remember the six words "Shun Ze Fan, Ni Ze Xian".

Of course, my book is not about cultivating immortals, so there is no need for "heaven-defying".

However, I think the word "reverse" is the most fundamental behavioral motivation of all the protagonists of Internet novels.

Because what you want cannot be realized, you must break through all obstacles in front of you and go against the trend.

You can be heaven-defying, you can go against the king, you can go against the king, you can go against the way, but you must first meet three conditions.

First, the protagonist must be convincing and strive for something.

Second, the protagonist must have someone who really needs him to "reverse", at least an enemy that can be called an opponent.

Third, the psychological transformation of the protagonist from "not rebellious" to "reverse".

The fourth volume, strictly speaking, is writing about these three conditions.

About Yujia.

The character Yuja was supposed to die in volume 4 in the outline.

Her background and experience are doomed to this result.

Death is actually the best ending for her.

But it may be that too many hints have been given before, so in the process of writing, there will be readers who keep saying that Yujia should not die.

And this eventually led to such an ending.

Youjia, maybe it won't appear again in the future.

As for whether she died or not, everyone just needs to understand according to their own expected results.

Well, the above is roughly what I want to say about the plot.

I know that there are many places in this book that are not well written, and the update speed is also slow.

But as I wrote more and more, I gradually understood where my advantages were compared to others.

If it is a bit brazen, it should be better to create emotions.

Whether it's sadness, joy, anger, or majesty, I can easily get into these emotions during the writing process, and I can barely express them.

But I also understand where the shortcomings of own are.

Of course, not to mention the shortcomings.

In short, I am quite satisfied with this book, and whether it is due to financial rewards or enthusiasm for writing, I have the motivation to continue writing.

Write a full story.

Finally, report the results.

The performance of "villain" on the starting point main website has been rising steadily. The high order of a single chapter has exceeded 6,000. The average order is somewhat stretched, but it is not too far from the boutique.

In addition, it performed well in terms of free terminals and channels, and the overall income was indeed something I did not expect before I opened the book.

Part-time work is enough, so I really appreciate the support of every reader.

In the end, I don't ask for votes, I don't ask for rewards, I just ask if you can praise me? ? ?

"The author has written so well!"

"It's so well written!"

"Awesome!"

Heck, that sort of thing.

thank you all! !
