Imperial Master of the Ming Dynasty

Chapter 208 Ziyou Daoyan defends Jiang Sheng

A moment.

Dao Yan, who was wearing a black cassock, and Zhang Yuchu, who was wearing a feathered Taoist robe, arrived hand in hand.

Zhao Yu chose a clean room, Zhu Di set up a square table, and Zhu Gaosui stood outside with his soldiers.

This time, Zhu Gaochi started to make tea. The tea on the square table was already boiling and steaming out.

"Master Daoyan, Master Zhang, please sit down!"

The two approached, and Zhu Di invited them to sit down with a smile on his face.

Dao Yan and Zhu Di had known each other for decades, but they didn't know that Zhu Di might have already known about "gravity". He also understood that the other party was probably afraid that "gravity" would impact the theory of induction between heaven and man, so he came to find them. Let’s discuss how to respond.

Dao Yan studied all three religions, while Zhang Yuchu was a great Confucian scholar in the Taoist sect, and they both knew Confucianism very well.

After all, the person who knows you best is often your opponent. Especially when it is difficult to defeat, your opponent will try their best to learn and study you.

Dao Yan nodded slightly: "Thank you for your hospitality, Your Majesty."

Zhang Yuchu, who was more attentive, saluted Zhu Di respectfully.

"Greetings to Your Majesty."

Zhu Di also nodded in response, indicating that they could sit down.

Dao Yan and Zhang Yuchu look like this, with a black gold cassock and a white feather coat. They look like otherworldly immortal Buddhas. They are elegant and empty, as if they are not in the world, and people can only look up at them.

After the two sat down, Zhu Di ordered the eunuch to serve cakes.

Immediately, Zhu Di raised his tea cup: "I am looking for you two to come here today because there is indeed an urgent matter, but you might as well have a sip of tea to calm down first."

After speaking, Zhu Di took the first sip of tea and let it go calmly.

Zhu Gaochi, Dao Yan, and Zhang Yuchu all took a sip of the tea in their hands and put it down.

Dao Yan sat upright like a mountain and said calmly: "I wonder why Your Majesty summoned Lao Na and Zhang Zhenren to come here?"

Zhu Dilang laughed, and then changed the topic: "I summoned you two here this time because I have an important matter to discuss with you!"

"Your Majesty, it doesn't matter."

Dao Yan raised his eyebrows, but he felt that Zhu Di seemed a little different today?

It was like he had untied some knot in his heart, and he was obviously a little more free and easy than usual. Judging from Zhu Di's mental state in the past few months after conquering Nanjing and proclaiming himself emperor, this situation was quite rare.

After all, Zhu Di was either busy killing people, suppressing internal opposition forces, or dealing with government affairs. It would be no exaggeration to say that he was exhausted every day.

It's rare to see someone as relaxed and comfortable as he is today.

As for why Zhu Di was so polite today, it is not difficult to understand. After all, Zhang Yuchu, an "outsider", is still here, and Zhu Di and Dao Yan cannot talk as freely as they do in private situations.

Zhang Yuchu stared at the emperor silently, waiting for the emperor's questions.

As for what questions the emperor would ask, Zhang Yuchu naturally already had the answer in his mind. Before setting off, he and Dao Yan had already thought about the fact that "universal gravity" would overturn the concept of induction between heaven and man from the perspective of Confucian theory. Made some countermeasures.

The two of them sat down and talked and finally came up with a feasible solution.

Zhu Di pondered for a moment and said slowly: "There is indeed something important happening here, which involves the foundation of the country. I think Master Daoyan knows about it, but I'd better let the boss talk to you."

Afterwards, Zhu Gaochi talked about the "gravity" and "heliocentric theory" discussed in today's lecture, as well as the torsion scale experiment that he had just done several times and verified correctly.

"I want to hide Mr. Jiang's statement so that the senses of heaven and man will not be shaken. I wonder what you two think?" Zhu Di picked up the tea cup and looked at the two of them and asked.

Zhang Yuchu narrowed his eyes: "Your Majesty, no!"

Dao Yan also looked calm: "I don't think it's appropriate!"

They both objected almost simultaneously.

Zhu Di was stunned for a moment.

Although Zhu Di was just testing it out first, no matter from any angle, he thought his suggestions were reasonable. After all, no matter who the emperor was, they probably had this idea. However, they were rejected on the spot without saving face.

However, Zhu Di did not get angry because of this, and still looked at Zhang Yuchu and Dao Yan with a smile.

"Then what should you do based on what you two see?" Zhu Di asked again.

Zhu Gaochi supported: "Yes, if the heliocentric theory mentioned by Mr. Jiang is not sealed, the gravity of gravity is so easy to prove, I am afraid that if it spreads, it will cause turmoil in people's hearts and make the country unstable."

"Heavenly induction." Dao Yan chuckled: "Does your Majesty believe it?"

Dao Yan's words were rude, but Zhu Di didn't take it seriously. After all, everyone knew that if there was such a thing as telepathy, he might not be able to become the emperor.

But facts are facts, and disbelief is disbelief. Zhu Di still has one more crucial concern, which is also the fundamental reason why Zhu Di called the two of them here.

Without the shackles of heaven and man's induction, Zhu Di can certainly do whatever he wants. To put it mildly, it is not impossible to be as powerful as Yang Guang, the former Sui Yang Emperor.

Anyway, Zhu Di originally didn't believe in the induction of heaven and humans. Now that Jiang Xinghuo's universal gravitation and torsion scale experiments have proved it, he no longer has any respect for the induction of heaven and humans.

But from another perspective, telepathy is not only a yoke that restricts imperial power through astrology and natural disasters. This yoke is also a kind of protection.

Zhu Di thought for a long time and said: "Whether I believe it or not, this thing of heaven and man sensing, after all, involves the foundation of the imperial power, and it cannot be easily shaken."

Dao Yan also shook his head and retorted: "What Jiang Sheng said is the truth of heaven and earth. Now it has been confirmed that His Majesty just wants to seal it up. I think it is inappropriate."

Zhang Yuchu did not dare to continue to refute the emperor openly, but it did not stop him from nodding along silently.

Zhu Di seemed to have anticipated the two men's attitudes, but he was not in a hurry to get angry.

Zhu Di took a leisurely sip of tea before continuing: "Actually, I also think that what Jiang Xinghuo said is reasonable, but it is still as I said just now - the induction of heaven and man, I am quite worried about this."

"Your Majesty is thoughtful and thoughtful, I admire you."

Dao Yan flattered him somewhat perfunctorily, and then said: "But I think that the telepathy between heaven and man is not really a rope that binds the imperial power to each other and can never be untied."

Zhu Gaochi, who was silent on the side, frowned and his eyes flickered.

He felt vaguely that something was wrong.

really--

Zhu Di's tone suddenly changed: "Do you two want to overthrow the connection between heaven and man, and then also overthrow the heavenly grant of imperial power?"

"No, no." Dao Yan shook his head hurriedly and explained: "Your Majesty is wise and powerful, unparalleled in literary skills and martial arts, and his unparalleled heroic appearance is unparalleled in ancient and modern times. He is a symbol of the great achievements of the Ming Dynasty. Naturally, he is entrusted by God. Your Majesty, the great Ming Dynasty."

After patting the rainbow fart, Dao Yanfu said again: "But your Majesty, what I want to say is that your Majesty, please think about it carefully, when did this thing like heavenly sensing appear?"

Zhu Di said of course: "The induction of heaven and man was naturally proposed by Dong Zhongshu in the early Western Han Dynasty and dedicated to Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty. Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty adopted Dong Zhongshu's theory. From then on, he deposed hundreds of schools of thought and only respected Confucianism. Confucianism gradually It has become the only prominent school in the world and continues to this day."

"That's it." Dao Yan turned the rosary beads in his hand and smiled, "Then think about it again, your Majesty, before the induction of heaven and man, the imperial power of Qin Shihuang, Han Taizu Emperor Gao and other heroes was not given by heaven? "

"That's not true." Zhu Di's eyes lit up slightly, obviously following Dao Yan's train of thought and seemed to have found a new way to solve the problem.

"Yes, Your Majesty, that's the truth." Dao Yan also said, "You are an emperor throughout the ages, ruling billions of people in the world. Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty can use this theory, so why can't you change this theory?"

When Zhu Di heard this, he pointed at Dao Yan and laughed.

"Old monk, are you hiding your thoughts? Let me tell you!"

Dao Yan also smiled, but instead of speaking, he motioned for Zhang Yuchu to speak.

Zhang Yuchu knew that Dao Yan was giving him a chance to show off in front of the emperor. After giving Dao Yan a grateful look, Zhang Yuchu cleared his throat and spoke.

"I don't dare to deceive Your Majesty. In fact, when I came here, Master Daoyan discussed this issue with Pindao. Pindao discussed it with Master Daoyan for a while and did come up with some ideas. Now I will discuss it with Your Majesty."

Zhang Yuchu said slowly: "In fact, it is not difficult to decipher the inevitable collapse of this heaven-human induction in the face of heliocentric theory and universal gravity. You only need to refer to the Confucian Xunzi's set of things."

"Xunzi?" Zhu Di frowned slightly.

"good!"

Zhang Yuchu slowly recited: "Sitting in a room, one can see the four seas, and one can see the world from the present. One can know the emotions of all things by observing them sparsely, one can understand their degree by observing the rules and regulations, one can understand all things by observing the longitude and latitude of heaven and earth, and one can understand the principles of the universe by cutting them. Come on. It's so vast and vast, who knows its extremes? It's vast and vast, who knows its virtues? It's so vast and vast, but who knows its shape? The sun and the moon are brightly connected, and it's full of eight extremes. I'm called a great man. I'm evil, but it's hidden. That’s right!”

Zhu Di didn't understand what it meant yet, but Zhu Gaochi, who was familiar with the Classics and History Collection, was startled when he heard the words.

This is the content of "Xunzi's Uncovering Pian".

Translated, it means - if you want to be pure, you can enter the Tao. If you know the Tao and observe it clearly, if you know the Tao and practice it, you are a person who can understand the Tao.

By achieving purity, unity and calmness, you can reach a very clear and transparent state.

Looking at all things, there is no shape that cannot be seen. There is nothing that cannot be explained without seeing it. There is nothing that cannot be explained without explaining it.

When people sit indoors, they can see the world; when they are in the present, they can talk about distant events. Observe all things and know their emotions; examine the order of chaos in temples and understand the laws; govern the heaven and earth and manage all things; master the great principles and the universe will be governed.

At this time, the realm of the human heart becomes vast, far-reaching, boundless, and one does not know how far-reaching virtue is; it is active and complex, and one does not know how many shapes all things have. The brightness of the human heart can match the sun and the moon, and the vastness can fill all directions. This is called a great person. How could it be deceived?

Zhu Gaochi blurted out almost instantly: "Heaven's behavior is always constant, and it will not exist for Yao, nor will it perish for Jie."

"Father, I understand!"

Zhu Gaochi said to Zhu Di in surprise: "Using the theory of pre-Qin Confucianism is enough to crack the connection between heaven and man, and seamlessly integrate the heliocentric theory!"

A question mark seemed to slowly rise on Zhu Di's head.
