Iron Powder and Spellcaster

Final words of The Wave of Waves

Just when I was filling in a missing word, a page suddenly popped up: the half-million-word milestone.

In other words, I wrote exactly half a million words—although after deletions and revisions, it was less than half a million words.

If someone had said a few months ago that I could write a half-million-word novel, I would not have believed it.

But I’ve now written half a million, and that’s just the first volume.

Initially I just wanted to write a story between [The Fall of the Castle] and [The Thirty Years' War].

Because the changes in military technology and social systems during that period were very interesting.

Add a little bit of magic and love and it's perfect.

But as I write, I find that my ability and energy are really limited - to borrow the words of my father - I gradually improve from "making garbage" to "knowing that I am making garbage".

Many times I think the writing is too wordy and verbose.

But I also thought, "I won't write a second novel like this again," so I didn't want to leave any regrets and wrote down as many details as possible.

The reason why "Scroll of Waves" is called "Scroll of Waves" is because it is the beginning of everything. Explain the characters, main forces, and historical background.

Many people in the book are actually vaguely aware that the world they know is collapsing. They see the waves on the sea, but only in the next few volumes will they understand what kind of vortex they have been involved in.

Now, they can only move forward along the established trajectory.

Because in the first half of history, the times create heroes, and in the second half, heroes dance with the times.

As for Winters Montagne, as a native, he was not born to know.

All his knowledge and skills are learned first and then improved.

Seeing the mysterious mage using a crucified cannon, he thought of using it on firearms;

Ekko gave him the inspiration for the Hair Burning Technique, which he used to detonate his enemies' powder pots.

Until now, his fire-burning power was still at the level of "carrying a lighter" with him. He just used this "lighter" to do many things.

He was lucky because every leader he met after leaving the ivory tower was a good person. He was able to absorb knowledge and gradually grow up under the protection of his elders.

But I don’t know if he can be happy...because the outline hasn’t thought that far yet.

The second volume is actually the one I took the longest to conceive of, but it probably won’t be 500,000 words, so I will try to be as concise as possible.

Thanks to the many readers who have been following this novel, thank you all.

The story will continue in "The Galloping Horse Volume".
