JOJO hiding in the hunter world
#134 - Don't wait, there is no inspiration today.
The faint morning light shone into the room through the light blue curtains. The curtains softened the light, casting a gentle blue hue. The room wasn't large, but the light filtering through the windowpanes illuminated it brightly. The wooden floor had a faint brown tint from age. A boy of about twelve or thirteen sat motionless on the bed, his expression blank, almost idiotic.
He was Lu Youguang, a young man from Hua Country, a recent college graduate who'd spent four years at a third-rate university to get a degree. There were plenty of college students like him; this worthless diploma would make it hard to find a job. He and his roommate had been working on a game, but instead of making money, they'd lost some. After drinking a little wine, he'd passed out and woken up here. Luckily, he had a younger brother; taking care of their parents shouldn't be a problem.
The boy's bed wasn't far from the mirror. Sitting on the bed, he could clearly see his reflection. Five minutes ago, he'd merged with this body's memories. His name was Jon Belosevich, male, twelve years old, black hair, black eyes, five-foot-five, decent looking, healthy with no bad habits. Not an orphan either; parents alive, no house, no car, no little sister, and no star-shaped birthmark on his neck. No broken engagements, no Qi cultivation, no magic. This seemed like a safe world.
"Jon, come down for breakfast!"
The boy averted his gaze, got up, quickly tidied his clothes, and hurried downstairs.
His father was a member of some gang; Jon didn't know the specifics. Perhaps it was deliberately concealed; Jon knew very little about him. In Jon's memories, he'd only seen him once.
His mother was also very mysterious, rumored to be a major shareholder in some company. She'd married his father for profit, so she rarely cared about him. She was only slightly better than Jon's father. But at least she would visit Jon once a year.
Jon was fostered in the home of his mother's former housekeeper. Jon had grown up in the old housekeeper's home since he was a child. He also took the housekeeper's surname, and the housekeeper and his wife treated him well, raising him like their own son, never stinting on his allowance.
"Jon, why are you getting up so late today?" The housekeeper glanced at Jon and then turned her back to him, clearing the table.
Jon grabbed the mouthwash and went into the bathroom, unscrewed the cap, and gargled twice. He grabbed a wet towel from the side and wiped his face haphazardly before going to eat.
"Hey, Jon, is something wrong? You seem strange today." The housekeeper looked at Jon with a suspicious expression.
Jon's face stiffened, then he showed a warm smile. "Nothing's wrong, I just didn't sleep well last night. By the way, are we having apple pie again today?"
"Of course, wash your hands quickly." The housekeeper's attention was instantly diverted. "Hey, we've had apple pie for two days now." He breathed a sigh of relief, secretly thinking he was lucky to be quick-witted and almost got discovered on the spot. To be discovered less than an hour after transmigrating would truly be a disgrace to transmigrators. Although he inherited the memories of the previous owner, some habits were still hard to change.
"Jon, I'm going out." The housekeeper picked up a small basket, ready to leave. "Also, there's ice cream in the refrigerator, but don't eat too much."
Jon rolled his eyes. "I'm not a child anymore." Jon breathed a sigh of relief as he watched the housekeeper leave.
Jon ate a couple of bites haphazardly and went upstairs. Because it was summer vacation, the twelve-year-old little Jorno had time to understand the world. From a memory perspective, this world was definitely not Earth. None of the countries on the world map were ones he'd heard of in his previous life. And there were those bizarre continental shelves; Earth couldn't produce that even in another hundred million years.
Little Jon was still young and didn't have a mature understanding of the world. He couldn't determine which world he was in based on his memories. Jon turned on the computer to search for information. This old computer belonged to the housekeeper and his wife's son; it was quite old, but based on the principle of making use of waste, they gave it to Jon.
The server took more than a minute to load. Looking at the recommended and pinned posts, he quickly typed a few words and clicked.
Looking at the answers given by the search engine, Jon was completely stunned. 'Whale Island, surrounded by the sea on all sides, the residents are mainly engaged in fishing, beautiful scenery, with a large number of rare animals.' Whale Island is the birthplace of Gon Freecss, the protagonist of Hunter x Hunter. Combined with the fact that the occupations of the wealthy on the rich list he just saw were inexplicably filled with the profession Hunter, Jon was convinced that this was the world of Hunter x Hunter. This world could be considered a mid-level martial world, with an extremely high degree of danger. What kind of safe world was this?
"I thought it was a slice-of-life world, but I didn't expect it to be the Hunter world." Jon lay on the bed, recalling the bits and pieces of his previous life. A fear of being unable to return home and a fear of his life being out of control intertwined. He recalled his homeland in his previous life. Although he was a wage slave, at least the government would stand up for you; you wouldn't be killed at the drop of a hat. In this world, if you were casually killed by the Phantom Troupe, who could you cry to?
Suddenly startled, Jon remembered the novels he'd read on Qidian in his previous life. Generally, the protagonists who transmigrate would have a golden finger. He silently recited, "Old Grandpa, System-kun, Main God, if you're there, say something."
"System is activating..." A heavenly electronic voice came from his mind. Even the window outside...
What? System? I really am the chosen one. God still loves me after all. Jon instantly became ecstatic. This definitely wasn't a dream. Thinking that he could also start a face-slapping journey like other protagonists, killing everything in his path and reaching the pinnacle of the world. No, as the King of the World, how could he not have a harem of wives and concubines? The golden finger had arrived; next was the time to show off. Thinking of this, his smile gradually became twisted.
"Detecting the energy system of this world, synchronizing..."
"JOJO's Bizarre Adventure is starting."
Seeing this name, Jon fell into a moment of silence. This familiar interface, this familiar feeling... This seemed to be the crappy game that he and his roommate had made to piggyback on the popularity of Golden Wind. It had most of the Stands and items from JOJO parts 1-7. Because everyone was a JOJO fan, they made it very carefully, which led to an incomplete mall system, so the game was a money-loser. This game was similar to NetEase's games; you could whale all you want, but you'd still get beaten into a little brother.
"System, are you there?" Jon tentatively asked.
The system didn't respond. Jon understood. This system wasn't very intelligent. He'd heard that some people even fell in love with system AIs. It made him a little envious. But Jon was still quite glad that at least the system wouldn't kill him at the drop of a hat, nor would it have a system spirit constantly chattering for no reason.
Seeing that the system didn't respond for a long time, Jon skillfully clicked on the newbie gift pack. Still the familiar recipe, still the familiar taste. Inside were three covered cards. One item card, one ability card, and one Stand card. The Stand card was guaranteed to give you a Stand when flipped over, but what you got depended entirely on your luck.
emmmmmm...
Rely on luck.
