Knight Lord: Start with Daily Intelligence

#159 - Wonderful Architecture Verdant Ring

Chapter 15: Emerald Ring

Looking at the densely packed orc camps covering the mountains and plains, and the countless monsters wandering and fighting within, Ashfield, who was less courageous, began to whine, "Hild, are you sure we're going to pass through this camp? I've already seen at least a dozen watchtowers."

Hild's heroic face didn't waver, her will firm, she said decisively, "Conserve your strength, prepare to move."

After speaking, she took one last deep look at the massive monster camp. The scale of these monsters, so vast and covering the mountains, was probably larger than Lord expected!

After all, this was the most powerful force in the western province of the Blood Pine Forest, and it should be equivalent to the army of a human earl or even a duke.

War flags and totems stood in the monster camp, displaying the scale of the tribe. And the wyvern breeding grounds deep inside indicated the elite nature of this army's combat power.

Black Forest was going to face such a powerful monster legion, and the pressure was probably greater than anyone expected.

If Black Forest was a duchy, and the Lord had 10,000 heavy armored cavalry under his command, then they could of course directly crush them.

But Black Forest was just a frontier territory. To solve this monster legion, Hild had to risk her life! Bring back more and more powerful props for the territory.

The dwarven ranger Dogrin took the lead. His seemingly clumsy body showed incredible agility. As a ranger, he was very good at climbing in the mountains.

Coming to this high ground was like returning to his home field. He rode a battle ram and could easily climb over those seemingly impassable cliffs.

The goat's ease of walking on steep cliffs was amazing, as if walking on flat ground.

Then this short, stout fellow was very strong, using ropes to pull his teammates up one by one.

So the seemingly terrifying monster camp was actually faster to pass through than the outside. The battle ram's talent for walking on steep ridges and cliffs covered with jagged rocks greatly accelerated this process.

This greatly changed the halfling Ashfield's attitude towards the dwarf, and he said, "My friend, you are completely different from the dwarves in our halfling's impression. You may be an outlier among dwarves, and I think we can get along very happily."

Dogrin's eyes widened, glaring at him, and he roared in a low voice, "Don't you know that it's offensive to call a dwarven ranger an outlier?"

However, his self-proclaimed low roar was completely a loud shout in the ears of others.

Vandal, as the peacemaker in the team, had to wave his hands quickly and said, "Don't quarrel, don't quarrel. We're almost at the dragon's nest, we can't fall short of success."

But Dogrin refused to give up easily. His iron-like hand grabbed Ashfield and asked, "Tell me, what are the inherent impressions of you despicable halflings towards our powerful dwarves?"

Ashfield, as a halfling, was already somewhat grimacing. Being grabbed by Dogrin like this made his arm ache even more, and he bared his teeth.

He said somewhat irritably, "My Aunt Bessie may be the most stingy miser I've ever met, but she's a great philanthropist compared to dwarves. These dwarves' eyes widen bigger than the moon when they see gold, and they can't stand others talking about it, otherwise they roar at people as if you stole their last piece of honey cake, and then they take out a tattered little notebook and don't know if they're writing about their family affairs or other messy things."

Hearing this, Hild couldn't help but smile. It could be said that this inherent impression fit all the images of dwarves!

Due to the common greed and desire for gold, dwarves and dragons have very sharp conflicts, leading to fierce wars and confrontations between them.

Dwarves regard dragon slaying as a great and glorious cause. They invented professional dragon slaying runes, entered the dragon's territory to kill dragons, and stole their wealth.

Dogrin's eyes widened instantly, and he asked while scolding, "Is this how you view your distant cousins? If I were the High King, I would immediately take out the Book of Grudges and write down a note about the halflings."

While the two were arguing, the team had approached the roots of the Green Crown.

As many as six or seven squadrons of gnoll warriors guarded the ancient tree, holding spears and carrying bows, scattered and on guard at various important checkpoints and positions.

And in the air, there were wyverns circling and patrolling. It could be said that even a fly could not fly into the dragon's nest.

But fortunately, due to Hild's tactics taking effect, the monsters here thought that the invaders were hundreds of miles away and did not realize that the adventurer team had arrived, so their vigilance was not high.

Hild and others carefully crossed the checkpoint beside the gnolls. They were so close to the monsters that they could even smell the stench of urine and fish on them.

But fortunately, there were no dangers along the way. Under the cover of Vandal's vines, they successfully climbed to the dragon's nest on the canopy in three hours.

At this time, it was already dawn, and the morning light illuminated the distant horizon.

In the dawn light, all the members of the adventure team saw clearly the magnificent dragon's nest built in the middle of the dense canopy.

Although dragons are rough, they also have their own unique aesthetic. Even different races can see the unique artistic beauty of dragons.

This huge dragon's nest is not made of rotten mud and broken branches. When Hild and others arrived on the canopy, looking forward, they saw lush foliage in front of them, verdant and luxuriant. The mountain wind blew through, and this was simply a green ocean.

And in the middle of this green ocean was an emerald ring towering into the sky. It was isolated from the world, magnificent and majestic, like a cloud and an ocean, simply a spectacle floating in the clouds.

Dogrin looked at this scene and opened his mouth in shock. It took a long time before he exclaimed, "I thought dragons were all barbaric creatures hiding in caves. This huge emerald ring that pierces the clouds has completely shattered all my inherent impressions of dragons."

Vandal, who was knowledgeable, looked at this magnificent spectacle and said, "It's not surprising. There are so many dragons, there are always a few with artistic talent. Ancient dragons have also left behind a large number of valuable relics. Some dragons live on towering stone pillars, some live in bronze palaces, and some live in black dragon pools. They have exquisite murals and crafts. But the characteristic of all their art is that it is extremely large, showing their power and majesty through giant structures."

Hild took a deep breath and said, "Don't look around, hurry up and get in. We'll try to search for a few hours, and when the midday sun is strongest, we'll take advantage of the monsters not being able to open their eyes wide and leave quickly."

"May the blazing sun protect us and everything go smoothly!"

With Hild's order, Ashfield took off the ring that always made him hungry, and everyone quickly moved towards the dragon's nest.

This was the core location of the dragon's nest. The noble green dragon would not even allow wyverns to approach, let alone gnolls. They would never set foot in this noble green ocean.

So the most important thing for the adventurer team right now was speed! On this empty green ocean, they strode forward and arrived smoothly inside the dragon's nest.

But their good luck along the way finally ended after arriving inside the dragon's nest.

In the passage leading into the emerald ring, a huge elemental bear blocked the only passage to enter.

This green elemental bear was dozens of meters tall, sitting in the passage, blocking all the space almost seamlessly.

Its green skin shone with emerald arcane runes, showing its unparalleled strength.

This was not an ordinary war bear, but a forest sacred beast that could use arcane energy.

Every elemental bear has a lifespan of thousands of years, and its strength after adulthood will not be lower than the God-Chosen level.

Seeing this, Dogrin was so angry that he broke down and asked, "Is this green dragon a social butterfly!? Where did it get so many God-Chosen level creatures in its army?"

Its loud voice echoed in the passage, immediately attracting the attention of the elemental bear. It roared and went from a sitting posture to a fighting posture.

Vandal sighed bitterly, "Oh, oh, this is terrible! Well, you are still young, let my old bones go up and lure it away. You hurry up and don't let it wake up the green dragon."

Everyone didn't have time to think about what was going on with this green dragon, how could it have so many God-Chosen level subordinates, was it a green dragon little princess? Or a green tea among dragons!?

Everyone ran backwards at the first time. Vandal rode a giant stag and ran wildly outwards, while constantly summoning vines to attack the elemental bear to attract its attention.

When they came to a corner, Ashfield decisively pulled Hild and Dogrin into stealth, hiding in a gap in the canopy.

Fortunately, the elemental bear was successfully angered by Vandal and did not notice these invaders who had hidden in the narrow gap, and continued to chase Vandal outwards.

When the elemental bear roared and left, the dwarf Dogrin immediately supported the branches with both hands, struggling to pull himself out of the gap: "Come and help me, I'm stuck by this branch. It's too narrow here, my belly can't get out."

Hild drew her sword, and the fiery sword light flashed, cutting off all the branches in front of the dwarf, scaring the dwarf to quickly cover his beard: "I said, Hild, be careful! Don't hurt my precious beard! We dwarven men value our beards extremely, to an extent beyond others' imagination. We ourselves never cut them, we just comb them and tie them into braids. Only great shame and sorrow will cause a dwarf to damage his beard, which means that this dwarf has lost his honor and dignity!"

But it was obvious that Hild's swordsmanship was superb, cutting off every branch without hurting a single hair on the dwarf.

She quickly put away the rune sword and pulled Dogrin out of the branches, not even having time to feel sad for Vandal, and said sternly, "Stop talking nonsense, we have to hurry up and collect treasures. Vandal can't hold on for long, we must take the treasure before the elemental bear returns to block the exit."

Today, let me share some good news by the way~

When this book was first launched, I remember it very well. It was ranked 98th on the fantasy bestseller list. With everyone's support along the way, it first rose to 70th or 60th, and now it is basically stable at 40th.

And it can be expected that the ranking will continue to move forward.

So every time I finish writing a story, I worry about whether the plot of this book is full of exciting points, and whether it has lived up to everyone's support. Whether the plot is interesting, whether it takes everyone into a bizarre world.

I also want to work hard to improve my writing skills, but my level is really limited. It is also very difficult to achieve enlightenment in one day and immediately break through and ascend.

After thinking about it, there is nothing to give back to everyone, so I will give you 10,000 words a day, and strive to make everyone happy.

Starting next week, that is, starting tomorrow, I will try to write 10,000 words every day and challenge for a week.

If I do it, I will give myself a thumbs up, awesome.

If I don't do it, don't scold me, I will make up for it when I am in a good state in the future.

But I feel that according to the number of manuscripts, there is a high probability that I can complete 10,000 words a day for a week!

Finally, please continue to support, continue to follow up, and try not to skip orders~
