Lord of Pets

About the progress of the new book (* ̄三 ̄)

First of all, I would like to apologize to everyone. When The Beast Master is finished, I have my heart set on writing a new book in March-May.

At the end of March and beginning of April, I also said in the book circle that I expected to open the book in mid-May.

But so far, after two months of conception, I only have an outline of more than a hundred thousand words (including world background, levels, maps, forces, eras, monsters, human abilities, plot, characters, characters, inspiration... everything miscellaneous). As well as a manuscript of more than 20,000 words, it is far from the level where I feel that I am "prepared enough to officially publish the article."

My fault, I admit my mistake.

Friends who are eagerly waiting for my new book, please put away your 40-meter machetes and give me some more time to prepare.

[Talk about new books]

I have a habit that I have maintained for a long time. Whether I am watching movies, watching anime, reading novels, playing games, chatting, eating, or being alone... As long as I capture interesting material or think of valuable inspiration, I will immediately take it out. Mobile phone, recorded in different documents.

Including the creation process of "The Pet Owner", there were also a lot of small inspirations, which were only recorded but not used in the main text.

These are excellent "ammunitions" for a writer.

A lot of inspiration may not be used in a lifetime, but if you get stuck in thinking or lack plot ideas, you can occasionally find miraculous results if you look for them.

Then, when "The Pet Master" was finished, I mentioned that the new book was still a "beast-controlling style".

After finally writing this book, I have accumulated writing experience from beginning to end, and amassed an audience of readers from scratch. I have not had the discomfort of "I am tired of writing on the same type of subject matter", nor have I ever had the thought of "the same type of writing seems to be constraining me." , is not conducive to my long-term development"...

No matter how you look at it, now is a good time to work hard to achieve higher results.

Based on these concepts, I sat in front of the computer and thought hard for a long time.

Based on my current experience of practicing 3 million words, the core of "Yushi-ryu" is roughly "mutual achievement between humans and beasts."

As long as we can choose the right type of "the beasts in the protagonist's group", choose the right attributes, highlight the personality, intersperse daily life, and fight vigorously... Secondly, create a bizarre world background with a large number of monsters, this book can achieve the goal of earning a lot of money. Not a bad profit.

Of course, under this premise, the writing style is too clumsy, the plot is too redundant, and the characters are too stupid... The superposition of subtractive items will reduce the original score.

I won’t consider the negatives here for now.

When conceiving a new book, the first thing I consider is, what are my strengths and weaknesses as an author?

From a rough self-analysis, my strengths are probably "pursuing logic as much as possible", "fairly rich imagination", and "fairly serious attitude". I am relatively comfortable in creating a monster-related ecosystem, and I enjoy it.

But I also have many disadvantages, such as "barely passable writing style", such as "amount of updates of hip-drawing", such as "hard and rigid character description", such as "abrupt transitions", such as "slow plot rhythm"... Etc., etc.

On the road of writing, I have just left the Novice Village, and there are countless bosses waiting for me to challenge and level up.

However, I have always believed that the path to writing, apart from reading more, writing more, and reviewing more, is all wrong.

Only by practicing repeatedly, trying repeatedly, groping repeatedly, constantly stepping on pitfalls, constantly climbing pitfalls, and learning from the protagonist in the story, encountering difficulties, overcoming difficulties, encountering challenges, overcoming challenges...repeatedly polishing and tempering, in the face of confrontation I thrive by wandering between wrong, right and wrong, good and bad, good and bad.

After thinking about this, I sat in front of the computer and continued to meditate.

——For the second book, what kind of beast-control style should I write?

Just because I want to write about the same subject matter doesn’t mean that I have to stick to a rut.

In fact, I like to be adventurous, I like to be unexpected, and I like to go off the beaten path.

Since the birth of civilization, no matter which region it is, there will be various legends, myths, monsters...

There are many things that can be derived from the theme of "beast control".

I have clearly defined the core of the beast-control style. What I need to think deeply about is what kind of elements can be combined with it to produce an effect of 1+1 greater than 2.

No matter how bad it is, let me and the readers shine, and make the second book a little different.

I thought about it for a long time.

In the memo, leave paragraph after paragraph of interesting or boring thoughts.

There are some ideas that I think can be further promoted and I can write a few above-passing beast-bending novels.

But what I have to admit is that I have ambitions and desires.

If the main purpose of the first book "The Lord of Pet Beasts" is to practice writing, I can look down on the others and ignore them.

For the second book, in addition to continuing to practice writing, I also wanted to make money and try to see if I could prove something.

It also takes time to create, and it also takes energy to conceive, to be taller among the short, and then to practice whether the experience I accumulated in the first book is correct-this is also my core goal.

Just like that, going around and around.

I put a lot of effort into identifying a "blend" that I thought I could try.

Just like "Lord of the Pets", I still pursue an all-imagined and all-original game. I still want to practice the majestic world background structure, and I still want to create hundreds of strange creatures of all kinds.

I will not say that I "will definitely be able to write well", nor will I say "my ideas and vision will definitely be welcomed by readers". I will not be sure of this either now or in the future.

But I at least want to try new possibilities, at least within the scope of my ability, to pursue "doing my best" and "reducing regrets".

It is not convenient to reveal too many details before the new book is officially released.

I can only give a brief introduction. The second book should be different from the conventional beast control style. It will have many new settings and follow the path of "beast control" + "privilege" to further deepen the relationship between humans and beasts. Bonding relationship.

In addition, for the second book, I can only promise to write an average of 4,000 words per day, but for the sake of performance and beyond the promise, I want to push myself and try to achieve 1.5 times the daily workload of "The Pet Master".

Maybe it will fail halfway, maybe it won’t last long enough.

But in the new book period, or the entire early and middle period of the book, I have to try and persist as much as possible.

(This is also an important reason why I delayed publishing the book. It was difficult to write at the beginning of the new book. I only wrote one chapter after sitting for a whole day. I didn’t stock up on more manuscripts. I felt really unsure.)

Above - Black Pepper Sage's inner monologue.

I still want to take some time to prepare. I need at least a 100,000-word manuscript and more detailed outlines to give me peace of mind.

Because once the document is officially published, it is a spinning gear. You can only move forward and it is difficult to go back and modify it.

I would like to apologize again to readers who had high expectations but failed to realize their expectations. I will report on the preparation progress at the end of May. I also hope that the new book will be available to you as soon as possible.
