Lord of the Karmic Fate

139 An Item That Must be Obtained!

Once the Bloodcursed Wanderers had been sold, the Relic was taken away and a new one was brought inside.

This time, it was a small and beautiful necklace with a pendant that seemed to be the sharp tooth of a beast.

The necklace was called the Berserk Wolf's Talisman, a Rare Item that granted its wearer a unique ability to bite through even steel! It was quite a special item, and at the end of the bidding, it had been sold for close to 700,000 Novas!

"This is just simply ridiculous." Raven laughed bitterly as he watched how various Relics and Items had been sold for insane amounts of money one after another as if they were nothing but candy.

It seemed people didn't care how much they spent if what they gained from it was more power.

"I wonder what the last item will be." standing beside Raven, Luna mumbled quietly as she watched as a beautiful set of armor was sold for over 37 million Novas after close to half an hour of bidding!

"The last item?" Raven raised a brow as he placed his right index finger under his chin while supporting his right elbow with his left hand.

So far 24 items had been sold and according to what he has learned from his little sister and father, the Star Treasury only sold 25 items every weekend.

No more, no less than that.

Thus, knowing this piece of information Raven understood that the next item not only will be the last one but also the best one too as the Star Treasury always loved to keep the people eagerly waiting and raising their anticipation.

Like during a great movie where the action on the screen made viewers sit at the edge of their seats, waiting for the climax of the story with beating hearts and sweating faces!

Oh, the exhilaration! That feeling was something only a few things could beat!

"Well, as this is my first time here I don't know what to expect. However, knowing the Star Treasury and seeing the items they have sold so far, I bet it will be an item incredibly rare and powerful."

"You think so?" Luna mumbled and just as her voice fell watched as Alexios extended his hand to both sides and his lips curved into a wide grin.

"Ladies and Gentlemen! We have finally arrived at the best point in tonight's auction! Oh, how excited I truly am, I can hardly control myself so let us not wait any longer and see what tonight's last item is!"

And right after he said those words, in the middle of the platform a small section rose into the sky with a small item on it.

Everyone exclaimed out loud with surprise and confusion as the little thing on the raised section was a beautiful coin with one half being golden while the other being black, almost as if it had been made out of obsidian.

However, the only one who didn't look confused or surprised was Raven, who as if getting some sort of stimulation dropped the bowl of the pudding out of his hands and his pupils shrunk to the size of a needle!

"Raven?" both Luna, Thomas, and Old Dan flinched and shifted their gaze at Raven with both alarm and a little panic.

After all, the way Raven stared before him at the moment with a grave expression was nothing comforting.

Meanwhile, on the platform, Alexios looked at the small coin with flickering eyes before he began to explain what it could do.

"This little thing is called the Fortune's Coin, a Fragmented Artifact with a Legendary Grade."

"Huh? A Legendary Relic is the last item? And a Fragmented at that?"

"What a bizarre name... Fortune's Coin. I wonder what it can do."

"I mean, if they decided to put it out as the last item its abilities must be powerful, right?"

People began to murmur between each other, which earned an even wider grin to form on Alexios' face.

"I know what all of you dear Guests think at the moment, like how could such an item, a Legendary Grade item at that be the last item on tonight's auction, right? But let me say this, this coin despite only being a Legendary Grade item, a Fragmented Artifact at that which has yet to awaken its true abilities, can allow one to fight others even if the Rank difference is over 5!"

"WHAT!?"

Many broke into an uproar when they heard Alexios' words, some even standing up with utter disbelief plastered all over their faces, hardly believing whether what Alexios had told them was indeed the truth or not.

"Now then, with that in mind, I will begin the final bidding of tonight's auction with a starting price of 1,000,000 Novas and a minimum amount of bid being 200,000 Novas with no upper limit!"

"Huh? We won't even be told what that coin can do?"

"Yeah, although we had been told what Grade it is, we still don't know what kind of abilities it can grant, especially when you started it can allow one to skip 5 whole Ranks!"

"Yeah! That is just ridiculous! We are talking about a Fragmented Artifact here which has yet to reach the Arcane Grade!"

People began to express their complaints one by one quickly filling the hall with loud yells and cries. However, that only lasted for a few seconds as just before things were on the verge of getting out of hand Alexios clapped his hands, sending a ripple flying in every direction that silenced everyone in a blink.

Upon seeing that everyone was bewildered and confused about what just happened, Alexios' previously serious expression turned carefree again and showed a faint smile as he quickly explained his reason why he didn't mention the item's abilities.

Meanwhile, inside the VIP room, Raven still stared at the coin behind the glass container with trembling eyes before his fingers clenched into tight fists and his expression became extremely serious.

'That coin... I don't care whether I have to spend ten million or a hundred, I have to acquire it no matter how much it will cost!'
