Lord of the Oasis

Chapter 764. The sadness of leaving without saying goodbye

After hearing Austin's breathing gradually becoming steady, Gilbert opened his eyes. He slowly walked out of bed, turned around and glanced at the sleeping Austin, and left the room decisively.

Walking to the corridor of the guest room, Gilbert walked towards the room where DeWitt and others were.

After hearing the voices talking inside, he raised his hand and knocked gently on the door.

When DeWitt and others heard the knock on the door, they suddenly stopped talking. Abel picked up the weapon placed beside the bed and cautiously leaned towards the door.

DeWitt and Clemont also got out of bed, followed behind Abel, and stood ready.

"Who?" Abel asked in a low voice toward the door.

"Gilbert." A thin voice came in from the crack in the door.

DeWitt frowned strangely, as if he couldn't figure out why Gilbert came to them at this time.

After the three of them looked at each other, Abel slowly opened the door. Gilbert immediately rushed in from the door. He was not even half as tall as Abel. At this time, it seems even more flexible and light.

"I'm leaving soon, and I'm here to say goodbye to you." Gilbert sat down on a chair in the room and said quietly.

"Now?" DeWitt looked at the dark sky outside the window and asked doubtfully.

"Yes," Gilbert nodded and said, "Thank you for taking care of me during this period."

Clemont hesitated and said: "During this period, the person who has taken care of you the longest is Austin. Have you said goodbye to him?"

"No." Gilbert shook his head sadly and said, "I'm worried that I won't be able to leave."

DeWitt saw that Abel was hesitant to speak, so he motioned for him to stop talking.

"I came to you this time because of Austin." Gilbert took a sip of tea and continued: "I hope you can take good care of him. You agreed to my request before, and you won't break your promise."

"Of course," DeWitt nodded: "Besides, Austin is a soldier under our command, and it is our responsibility to take care of him."

"Well, that's good." Gilbert stood up and said, "Goodbye."

Clemont finally couldn't help but ask: "Why did you leave so hastily, without even having time to say goodbye?"

"No more." Gilbert raised the corner of his mouth and said with a pale smile: "The remaining time now can only be spent trying to live or die."

After the three adults heard this sentence, their expressions showed a trace of unbearability.

"I hope you can succeed." Abel said.

"Thank you." Gilbert bent down slightly and said, "If I die, please don't tell Austin."

After saying this, Gilbert turned around and left without any hesitation.

He jumped over the railing of the corridor and jumped to the lobby on the first floor. No sound was made during the entire process.

The three DeWitts stood in the corridor, watching the back of Gilbert breaking through the door.

Clemont sighed and said: "He is obviously just a minor, but he acts like a teenager. Between him and Austin, I really don't know who is taking care of whom."

"Take care of each other." DeWitt responded softly: "Their feelings are two-way."

Early the next morning, all the people staying in the hotel were awakened by the screams of the hotel owner.

"My door! Who broke my door!" The hotel owner's face turned green.

Abel, who had not yet woken up, walked directly out of bed, walked to the corridor on the second floor, and shouted downstairs: "Boss, I'm sorry. My brother is too drunk, so I will give you the precious store door." If it’s damaged, I’ll compensate you later when you check out.”

The hotel owner looked at Abel's exposed strong muscles, and his expression suddenly became complicated. But he didn’t yell any more.

When Abel thought he could finally get some peace and go back to sleep for a while.

Austinge ran from the room to him and shouted loudly: "Captain Abel,

Gilbert..."

Abel sighed silently in his heart: He forgot that there was still this problem.

"He went home." Abel waved his hand and said.

"What?" Austin said in disbelief: "Why do you all know this, but I..."

"Our destination is different from his, so of course we have to part ways here." Abel said, "Maybe his family members were anxious to ask him to go back. So they left early in the morning."

"So that's it..." Austin suddenly lost his energy.

He originally thought of taking Gilbert to the teleportation array, but as soon as he got up this morning, Gilbert was nowhere to be seen.

Abel looked at Austin's gloomy expression and couldn't help comforting him: "Go back and sleep for a while, cheer up, we are going to start the mission today."

"Yes," Austinger replied.

Abel patted him on the shoulder and returned to his room. Looking at DeWitt and Clemont who fell asleep again, he sighed and lay down on the bed to rest.

Austinger returned to his room and lay on his bed as Abel said.

The fellow soldiers who had been so noisy before saw the expression on his face, and their words of accountability were stuck in their throats, and they did not intend to speak again.

"Woo, woo..." After a while, Austinge wrapped himself in the quilt and whimpered.

The expressions of others also became sad. They looked at each other and got off the bed. Taking his clothes, he gently closed the door and exited.

After everyone washes up, it's breakfast time.

After listening to Abel's words about what happened this morning, DeWitt turned his attention to Austin's table, but did not find Austin's figure. It's clear in my heart.

Worried about Austinger's physical condition, DeWitt picked up a breakfast and walked to the guest room on the second floor.

"Guest, food and drinks cannot be brought into the guest room." A waiter stopped DeWitt and said.

"Sorry, one of my comrades is not feeling well. I'm going to check on him." DeWitt explained to the waiter with a smile.

The waiter nodded hesitantly and let him go.

"Thank you," DeWitt said.

Knocking on the door of the room where Austin was sitting, DeWitt called softly: "Austin, are you there?"

"Here." Austin's voice came from inside.

"Can I come in?" DeWitt asked politely again.

"...Okay." Austinger hesitated for a while and replied.

DeWitt walked in with the dinner plate in his hand. When he saw Austin's eyes red, he handed over the food in his hand. He said warmly: "Let's eat something first."
