Mage? Spell Engineer!

Some book friends say that updating more often is better than writing testimonials, which is true, but being on the shelves is a milestone after all. In particular, this is my first book. I need to thank all my book friends for their support and companionship, and I need to give myself a periodic summary.

The most immediate trigger for publishing the book at Qidian was the half-year-long hiatus of updating "Steel Gunpowder Spellcaster", which caused me to be unable to sleep at night for a long time, so I also wanted to write a Western fantasy story that would at least suit my taste:

Set up a stage where divine power, royal power and magic check and balance each other but gradually get out of control, and set an era where the gods are silent and the general public rises up.

The prototype of the era background of this book has been clearly revealed, but I will not retell this great epic lamely, but only regard it as a prototype of the history of the continent of Ferallon. This is still a fantasy story, and its relationship to real history is like that of the Galactic Base to the rise and fall of the Roman Empire (take the works of Asimov as an analogy, this author is really shameless).

If the protagonist is an engineering student, and the focus is on an engineering student majoring in chemical engineering, traveling to a magical world, it may bring a different interest and direction to the story.

Based on the above ideas, I started to write.

As a newcomer, I chose to have straight hair. In the first few days, I waited anxiously for an editor to send me a contract, and at the same time, I was waiting for comments and recommendation votes from book friends.

Online experience tells me: when publishing directly on the platform, 50,000 words is the life-and-death line that determines whether you can sign with Qidian. But I was fished out at 49,000 words, and I was still 1,000 words away from dying before I left the army! So I would like to express my special thanks to the editor for helping me make this book available to you.

Yesterday, one day before it was put on the shelves, this book reached the milestone of "10,000 collections". This is an achievement I never dared to think of when I started the book. There is always a "real" gap between the author and the reader. Even if it is the same text, what the writer and the reader see and think must be different. Bridging such gaps, or making the gaps a space for readers to use their imagination and becoming part of a good reading experience, is the direction I want to strive to make progress. Frankly speaking, this book still has many shortcomings after revision. I also hope that I can write better and better, and live up to your encouragement and support.
