: Chapter 27
"Miss Rogers?" She barely opened her eyes, surrounded by white.
Voldemort sat beside the bed with a lavender potion. "Mrs. Pomfrey said you just had a fever. This is your sleeping potion."
She nodded weakly, held the man's hand and drank the potion. The potion took effect very quickly. Almost as soon as she finished drinking, she immediately fell back, and the soft pillow caught her.
"Don't fall asleep yet," the man said. "Tell me what happened?"
She tried hard to stay awake, but her thinking ability almost turned into a pot of stagnant porridge, "...what?"
"Why didn't you go home? Why did Joshua die?"
Her head was dizzy, and she no longer remembered who she was and where she was, but the name Joshua touched a very painful place in her memory, and she began to cry in a low voice, "I'm so scared...I'm so scared... …”
The other party took her wiggling hand and gently put the other hand on her eyes, "Don't be afraid, Victoria. Go to sleep, you won't remember when you wake up."
"I can't believe you got yourself into the medical wing!" Lily said angrily, sitting on the edge of the bed, "and it's because of exhaustion!"
"I'm a prospective candidate for O.W.Ls." Dolores pressed her nose wearily, though she was only trying to show Voldemort a good grade.
"Do you know how scary it is for you to suddenly faint in the library?" Angela sobbed, and Edwin hugged her comfortingly. "It's good that Professor Voldemort passed by and brought you to the medical wing."
"Voldemort?!"
"It's Professor Voldemort," Lily corrected. "You should thank him after you leave the hospital, but he's always been partial to you, so he should be glad he helped."
"Do you have any misunderstandings about him? He's not the helpful type." Probably Voldemort's acting was too superb, not to mention the other three Houses, even most of the Gryffindors had a big change in him.
What a perfect transition, she thought ironically, when he managed to win over these young magicians, the next step would be to run for Minister of Magic.
Then she remembered something, "Where's Snape?"
Lily gave her a strange look, "Have you forgotten? He hasn't been with us since the last time you quarreled."
"It's us, not you," Edwin pointed out with a smile, "in Mr. Snape's heart you will always be the most beautiful lily."
Lily blushed a little, but she didn't take Edwin's words seriously, "Fifteen minutes to visit, let's go, Madam Pomfrey will come to chase people later."
Dolores was allowed to leave the medical wing in the afternoon. ("Don't let me find out that you don't take care of your body again, Miss Rogers," Madam Pomfrey warned before she left.)
"Hey, Dolores, how are you feeling now?" Sirius Black's usual lazy voice sounded.
She stopped and saw the familiar combination approaching from the other end of the corridor.
"We wanted to go to the medical wing to see you, but you were discharged too quickly," Lupin said softly.
"But I have great news for you," James lowered his voice excitedly, "We have learned Animagos!"
Very good, when she was preparing for O.W.Ls so hard that she fainted from overwork, these third graders have become the youngest Animagus in history.
"Professor Voldemort is such a good man," Peter whispered.
"Congratulations," she said.
But the four boys in front of them didn't answer, they just stared straight at her back, Sirius and James posed their classic provocative posture - holding the school uniform with one hand over the shoulders plus ten Punchy smile.
Then it was obvious who was standing behind her.
Dolores looked back, and Snape and Lily met them by a narrow path.
"Hi, Lily," she greeted, then looked at the brunette boy reluctantly, in a less high voice, "Hi, Snape."
Snape ignored her greeting, just turned his head and let out a cold snort from his nose. It seemed that he hadn't completely forgiven her, but witnessing her talking intimately with the group of four would undoubtedly make their friendship worse.
"Looks like your mom didn't teach you what to be polite, snot." Sirius began his routine sarcasm, and James was even more eager to go up and punch Snape, especially when he saw Lily and He was talking and laughing.
"Hey boys," Dolores tried to stop the argument from escalating. "Think before you plan a fight. There's a sick patient standing between you. Lily, you and Snape go first."
Lily immediately tugged at Snape's sleeve and motioned for him to follow her away, staring at James Potter and the others.
When they were about to pass Dolores and the others, Sirius suddenly said to her excitedly in a loud voice: "We have a big plan for this Friday night! Do you know that willow--"
Then he seemed to remember something, and looked at Snape next to him with a half-smile, "Are you eavesdropping?"
Snape's face darkened, and he smirked back, "I admire Mr. Black's confidence, but not everyone is interested in something the size of a grain of rice."
"It's no small thing," said James, with a carefree voice. "It's going to be a great adventure."
"Stop talking about James." Lupin clearly disagreed.
Snape chose not to answer, and followed Lily obediently towards the front.
The foursome lost interest in talking when they saw them leave, and said goodbye hastily to Dolores.
Their meeting with James reminded her that she hadn't used the Invisibility Cloak yet.
She slipped out of Gryffindor Tower in the Invisibility Cloak after curfew, even though she was still not free from her frailty.
The destination was so clear: Voldemort's office, where she was going to borrow the fireplace to go somewhere.
All went well and she managed to get into the office, although the seconds she took off her invisibility cloak when ordering Medusa to open the door made her nearly spotted by the patrolling Professor McGonagall.
The room was empty, Voldemort wasn't actually at Hogwarts very often, he was always busy, and having a part-time teacher position really added to his burden.
Dolores sat in front of the burning fireplace and stared for a while, until the firewood suddenly crackled, and she didn't come to her senses.
Voldemort was also accustomed to using the same set Joshua had used, a specific password plus a specific fireplace to form a unique coordinate leading to an important place where Apparition was forbidden.
And the manor he lives in undoubtedly belongs to such a place.
Dolores remembered the password that belonged to three years ago, and it was funny to say that she forced Voldemort to use this sentence as the password with coquettishness and crying.
That sentence was spoken in snake language, I love you.
Thinking about it now, his agreement is probably because he doesn't care, this is not an important choice, so he is willing to back down.
She sprinkled a handful of Floo powder, the flames turned green, shouted the second snake language she had learned, and stepped into the flames.
After being prepared to be rejected by the fireplace at the other end of the password error, she touched the soft carpet in the next second.
The password was correct, and she returned to the familiar place.
