Maoshan Ghost King

Chapter 3164: Prajna

Ge Yu was startled when Su Manqing said this.

Unexpectedly, a professor who teaches painting at Jiangcheng University would know this mask.

After a moment of stunned, Ge Yu said to Su Manqing: "Manqing, this is not a joke, it's about the real murderer who killed my parents, you can't be kidding."

"Brother Yu, I won't be joking with you about this, or let Professor Zhang tell you?"

"Okay, let Professor Zhang talk to me on the phone." Ge Yu said solemnly.

After waiting for a while, Su Manqing handed the phone to Professor Zhang. Ge Yu said politely: "Hello Professor Zhang, I am Ge Yu, the security captain of Jiangcheng University."

"Hello, hello, I heard President Wang say that you are an amazing person." Professor Zhang chuckled.

"Professor Zhang, I heard from Man Qing, you know this mask, do you know the origin of this mask?" Ge Yu asked straightforwardly.

"Well, when I first painted this portrait, I felt very familiar. After thinking about it carefully, I finally remembered. I really saw this kind of mask. It was more than ten years ago when I went abroad to Japan to participate in one. During cultural exchange activities, this kind of mask that I saw in Japan has a name called Prajna. In fact, this kind of mask is very common in Japan..." Professor Zhang began to talk.

Hearing this, Ge Yu suddenly became a little confused.

Okay, why did it get involved in Japan again... Could this matter have anything to do with the Japanese?

Zhong Jinliang beside him was also puzzled.

After a while, Ge Yu reacted and said to Professor Zhang: "Professor Zhang, you are so knowledgeable, can you tell me more about this mask?"

"Well, actually, I still have a certain understanding of this mask, because this mask is considered a traditional art of Japan..."

Next, Professor Zhang introduced the mask prajna to Ge Yu.

Prajna is a performance element in traditional Japanese Noh art, symbolizing jealous and ferocious female monsters. This so-called "Noh" is similar to the traditional Chinese "Peking Opera", and the mask called Prajna is similar to Peking Opera. One of the various facial makeup in the same.

Like the red-faced Guan Gong and the white-faced Cao Cao, the Prajna represents a kind of female monster in Noh.

There are three theories about the origin of the Prajna mask.

The first one is made by the famous craftsman Hannabo, hence the name. It is said that Hannabo was a noh from the late fifteenth to the sixteenth century during the Muromachi period. He was a monk at Hanna-ji Temple in Nara. According to the record of "Masked Book", he was One of the eight Japanese ancient mask makers, some people think he was the first person to make prajna masks in Japan.

The second argument is from the Japanese classic "The Tale of Genji". There was still a pregnant woman on the flag Aoi of the Guangyuan family. One day, he took an ox cart to participate in the Kaga Shigeru Festival, and had a dispute with the family member of the Guangyuan family at the Rokujo Goritsu. Aoi chanted the Prajna Sutra and practiced imperial cultivation. However, after he gave birth to a son, he was attacked and killed violently by the creatures of Liujo Gojisho. Afterwards, Liujo Gojisho separated from Genji and went to Ise. Prajna was named after Prajna Sutra. Extremely resentful things.

The third theory is that to make this kind of mask requires the wisdom of the mask maker to open people's eyes and face reality. This kind of wisdom is called Prajna in Buddhism.

Either way, it reflects that the "prajna" in Noh is related to Buddhist culture.

Professor Zhang and Ge Yu explained the prajna mask in detail. As a professor, he has a very thorough understanding of Japanese culture. Although Ge Yu heard a little bit of understanding, he can generally know what the prajna mask is.

Co-authored, this mask is not so mysterious. For those who know it, it is just a very common grimace mask in Japan.

So the question is, why did the people who killed the Ge Yu family wear a Japanese mask?

This Japanese Prajna mask can explain many problems and can also mislead them in many aspects.

Is the person wearing this Prajna mask a Japanese or a Chinese...

Why did he take this Prajna to kill Ge Yu's family?

It seems that every time a puzzle is solved, there will be more puzzles waiting for them, which is really a headache.

After listening to Professor Zhang's introduction of the Prajna mask, Ge Yu thanked him a lot, and then chatted with Su Manqing a few more words before hanging up the phone.

Ge Yu, who hung up, frowned and worried.

At the moment they were on the phone, they had returned to the old lady's courtyard.

The old lady was busy cooking lunch with the two of them, Ge Yu and Zhong Jinliang sat in the small courtyard and began to discuss this prajna mask.

"Brother Yu, this matter is getting more and more complicated, do you think the people who killed the Ge family back then were not the masters of China?" Zhong Jinliang said.

"Could it be a Japanese who ran to the Ge family village and killed our family? Could the Ge family still have some ties with the Japanese?" Ge Yu also wondered.

At this time, Zhong Jinliang's gaze was already looking in the direction of the old lady. It seemed that the Ge family had anything to do with the Japanese, and he could only learn something from the old lady.

After waiting until the old lady finished dinner and the three of them got together for lunch again, Ge Yu couldn't help but brought up the matter.

During the two days of getting along, Ge Yu already trusted the old lady completely, and said without shyness at the moment: "Grandma, the matter of that mask has been checked out. Do you know what that mask is?"

The old lady looked puzzled and said, "That's just a scary Yaksha mask, what else can it be?"

"That face has a name, called Prajna, which is a kind of mask unique to Japan. It is rare to see that thing on the ground of China. Grandma, you used to help in the Ge family. You should also have the relationship with the Ge family. Some understanding, in your impression, is there any relationship between the Ge family and the Japanese?" Ge Yu said sternly.

When Ge Yu mentioned this, the old lady frowned and raised her head to look into the distance, as if she was trying to think about something. After a while, the old lady shook her head and said: " I don’t remember... I really don’t remember the relationship between the Ge family and the Japanese. I have been helping the Ge family for so many years. I have never heard of any Japanese friends in the Ge family. There are people who interact with the Ge family. Quite a few, there are people from all over the world... Japanese, in my mind there is really no..."
