Chapter 509: Twenty Gun Holes (Second)

The perfect dress, inspired by the muse.

The revival of ancient Greek style and elements originated from the trend brought about by the economic development of the United States in the early twentieth century. Along with pleats, long skirts, drape and geometric plant patterns, they have become synonymous with ancient Greek style. In this haute couture dress from the famous Lebanese fashion brand Zuhair Murad, the asymmetrical folds fully embody this element.

The witch wore this dress made of white gauze. Her bare shoulders melted the heroic witch into a spring lake. The perfectly smooth back was looming against the constantly shaking white gauze. The gleaming tassel-shaped gold breast chain and golden belt made the tall witch full of elegance and wisdom. It was simple and solemn, with a classic court texture.

Beunita rarely chose a less ostentatious eyeshadow color, and the corners of her eyes no longer pointed upwards. She braided her long black hair into a bun at the back of her head. She stood on tiptoe on the cold wooden floor, hesitated for a while in front of the shoe cabinet, and then picked out a pair of golden open-toed sandals to put on. Gold chains mimic strappy sandals, and cute red-painted toes wriggle restlessly. She also replaced her earrings with silver leaf shapes, which are much more austere than the ornate earrings of perkin, sapphire and gold.

"Honey, how about this one?" She walked to the sofa with her hands on her hips in satisfaction. "Don't tell me it's bad," she added, "if you don't want to have twenty more bullet holes in your body."

"Okay." The mystic straightened his back on the sofa. The long waiting time made him feel his lumbar spine was stiff and his legs were sore. "This is your twentieth outfit, dear." He sighed. Beunita has tried on many ancient Greek-inspired gowns before this, but no matter which one it is, it is full of off-the-shoulder, drape and gold jewelry. In the beginning, Salomon could still distinguish the difference in the details, but later he gradually became numb. All the clothes were the same in his eyes. He didn't even notice that Beunita changed her style and wore a dress similar to Cleopatra—it was the nineteenth! Although he didn't react, Salomon's brain has gradually recovered its function, began to help him recall what he saw before, and sounded an alarm to him loudly.

"I don't think that dress that looks like what Elizabeth Taylor wore, all that gold, is pretty. I remember it being the last one, it's so gorgeous," Salomon began before Bayonetta asked further. "I promise you, no matter what you wear, you are the most beautiful woman in the world."

"Then how do I compare with your adoptive mother?" The witch lifted her slender thighs from the white skirt and stepped on the sofa. Even this dress like a water fairy can't restrain Bayoneta's strong character. She readily accepted Salomon's appreciation of her ankles. The witch's blood kept her body perfect forever, even her ankles and toes. "I know that exposing your body is a very sacred thing in ancient Greece. You have seen your virgin adoptive mother's body more than once, but you are not Trisias [Note 1]. I want you to answer carefully, Boya~"

"Hiss—" Salomon gasped.

The recent busy work has made him spend less and less time at home, and because the renovation progress of the manor is surprisingly slow, Salomon and the witch have to live in New York temporarily. Salomon woke up earlier and earlier in order to have time to deal with the business of the Immortal City before class. It is impossible to say that the witch is not angry, but it is absolutely impossible for the always strong witch to tell him this matter bluntly. But when Athena invited him and the witches to a party on Mount Athena, Salomon hurried back, which made Beunita almost cut him into a hundred and twelve pieces to feed the cat with her eyes.

"Don't you want to say something?" The witch raised Salomon's chin. She was so close that Salomon could smell her. This scent made Salomon's nerves gradually soothed, relaxed, and then smiled silly. On the surface, Salomon is showing a very charming smile, but the witch knows that this means that Salomon subconsciously believes that this place is safe and warm.

It was often like this when he was with himself, Bayonetta thought. It's like a cat with its belly turned up, so cute.

"You must be the prettiest!"

"Is it because your adoptive mother is not here?"

"hiss--"

"I think your adoptive mother can wait a little longer." Bayonetta pressed Salomon under her body, tightly locked his waist with her strong legs, and gently touched his neck with her nose. "There is still an hour." She licked her lips, "Joan has already left, we still have time."

"But there's the Cheshire Cat..."

"She took the cat and the bird in that Aston Martin before you got back!"

The Cheshire cat wearing an Elizabethan collar stared wide-eyed at the owl who was watching from the side. Before the owl moved, it lowered its head suddenly, covered its small rice bowl with a plastic Elizabeth ring, and then ate the fish that Athena had prepared for it.

The sulking little owl pecked the Cheshire cat's fluffy tail, then turned to grab the little snake's food.

A squeaky little white mouse.

The domineering owl did not attract the attention of others, only Dinah in a maid outfit stared at Phoenix and the Cheshire cat, and Athena was talking softly with the women sitting at the table about the quality of red wine. Not only the witches were invited here, but also several friends of Athena in the art world (Phoenix used magic to hide it from the eyes of mortals), including Vanessa--today is a women's reception, and Salomon is just an addition. The role is to become the guy who is shown off when Athena needs to show off. Many of Athena's mortal friends heard these things and watched Salomon grow up, and no one knew more about what Salomon had achieved when he grew up.

Athena also invited witches to invite them into this circle.

"Make life more interesting." Goddess of Wisdom blinked. As a representative of the Greek pantheon, she cannot receive the task of Kama Taj like a witch, and can freely carry out activities. Athena misses fighting very much now, but she can only focus on art and science, especially teaching others to learn science is one of her greatest hobbies.

Little Lorna, whose abilities had been strengthened, sat down to the side with an unhappy face and bowed her head to the test paper. Although her grades are very good, Athena is using Salomon's learning speed to demand her, which is not a learning speed that ordinary people can afford. Little Lorna glanced at Salomon who was on the phone on the balcony, and cast him a look for help.

Salomon hung up the phone and walked in from the balcony. He kissed Athena on the cheek, then Bayonetta on the lips. When it was Joan's turn, he hesitated, and then the white-haired witch grabbed his tie and pulled him over. Female artists and ladies glanced at the Witch and Salomon with ambiguous eyes.

"Ahem, sorry, ladies." He loosened the tie with his index finger and said softly apologetically, "I think I need to take care of something."

Little Lorna wrinkled her nose and looked at him like a traitor.

"What happened?" Athena narrowed her eyes with interest.

She didn't say that someone was waiting for Salomon downstairs, or that it was a young blonde woman in a business suit driving a limousine. She felt that if she said it, today's party would be over, but the goddess of wisdom saw the magical light in Beunita's eyes. Athena smiled meaningfully, wanting to see how her adopted son would handle this situation.

[Note 1] The ancient Greek prophets were blinded because they saw Athena bathing. This is not punishment, but to prevent Trisias from seeing the truth directly, and he also understands the language of birds because of Athena's grace. As for why Salomon saw that nothing would happen, isn't it obvious?
