Mastering Lightning from Hogwarts
#16 - Charles McKinnon
The two looked at each other and continued to lie on the window, watching the excitement.
"Do you think they'll fight?" Vivian asked Anduin, never one to shy away from a spectacle.
"Probably not, didn't you see the Aurors are already there to maintain order?"
The gathering in front was quickly stopped by the Aurors who arrived after hearing the news, and the two sides who were arguing and seemed ready to fight were also separated.
"Ugh, I thought they were going to have a fight, but I didn't expect them to just exchange words, how boring." Vivian said, looking bored at the dispersing crowd.
Anduin looked at the girl, feeling like he was seeing the busybody aunties from his previous life, thinking the chaos in the world had nothing to do with them, just sitting aside quietly watching the show.
"Which house do you think we'll be sorted into? The Bulstrode family seems to always be sorted into Slytherin, I guess I will be too," Vivian asked listlessly.

"I don't really care, but if it's Ravenclaw, that would be the best. I heard Ravenclaw has its own separate library." Anduin also knew a little about the various houses, he just wanted to study quietly.
"Haha, just by looking at you, I can tell Ravenclaw is perfect for you. I saw you reading as soon as you came in. I heard Ravenclaw students are all very smart."
"If you go to Slytherin, you have to be careful. The wizarding world is so chaotic now, I heard there are many people in Slytherin who worship the Dark Lord." Anduin looked at Vivian and kindly reminded her.
"That's not necessarily true. In fact, many families from Slytherin take a neutral stance, like the Bulstrode family. Many of them don't think the Dark Lord will win in the end," Vivian said dismissively.
"Is it because of Dumbledore? I heard he's the greatest wizard of all time." Anduin wasn't too interested in the attitude within Slytherin, after all, he was Muggle-born and almost certainly wouldn't be sorted into Slytherin.
"It's not just that. Our family head said that the Dark Lord's pure-blood ideology is too extreme, wanting to eliminate wizards with Muggle blood. You know, many pure-blood families have business dealings with Muggles, and..." Vivian said mysteriously to Anduin, "and many pure-blood families have actually had intermarriage with Muggles to some extent, otherwise those families wouldn't have been able to continue for so many years."
Anduin had thought about this before. After all, if there was always inbreeding, many newborns would have mental or physical defects.
"Don't say that in Slytherin, or they'll definitely cause trouble for you." Anduin was speechless looking at the girl who was running her mouth.
"Don't worry, I'm not stupid."
Just then, their conversation was quickly interrupted.
A boy was knocking on the door.
"Hey, do you mind if I squeeze in?" The boy scratched his head and asked with a smile. "The other compartments are full."
"Of course not, there's plenty of space here. What's your name? I'm Anduin Wilson, and this is Vivian Bulstrode." This compartment could originally seat 6 people, so sitting three people wouldn't be crowded at all.
"Charles, my name is Charles McKinnon." Charles smiled shyly.
Charles was tall, possibly taller than Anduin, but slightly thin.
When Vivian heard Charles's name, she stared at Anduin and winked at him, clearly indicating that this was the McKinnon family member she had just mentioned.
Anduin glanced at Vivian and helped Charles with his luggage. As soon as he sat down, Vivian started chatting with Charles non-stop.
Fortunately, they were just chatting about casual topics. Anduin was really afraid that Vivian would directly say, 'Were you the one who almost started a fight outside?' He could imagine how awkward the atmosphere in this compartment would be.
"Hey, have you heard? Minister for Magic Harold Minchum is about to step down. Everyone says that besides placing more and more Dementors around Azkaban, he hasn't been able to stop the Dark Lord from quickly gaining power. The Death Eaters have been getting more and more rampant recently. I heard they even attacked Sirius Black in Diagon Alley last month." Vivian said to the two, holding up a copy of the Daily Prophet.
It was in Knockturn Alley, Anduin complained weakly in his heart. He found that Vivian seemed to know a little about everything, her news was too well-informed. She would be very suitable to be a gossip magazine reporter in the future.
"He should have been replaced long ago. Only passively defending will only increase more senseless casualties. Those damned Death Eaters are unscrupulous." Charles seemed to hate the Death Eaters very much. As soon as he talked about this, he completely lost his shyness and said with an angry face.
"Don't worry, they won't be rampant for long." Although Anduin didn't remember much of the plot of "Harry Potter", he knew that Voldemort would die soon after Harry was born.
Charles McKinnon took Anduin's words as just comforting himself, and replied with an awkward smile, "Our family has always been committed to fighting the Dark Lord, and several of them have joined the Aurors. Those Death Eaters attacked my uncle before, breaking his leg. He's still lying in St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries. He's very, very sure that one of the Death Eaters who attacked him was Travers, but the Ministry of Magic didn't even investigate because they had no evidence, it's really hateful."
Charles McKinnon complained to Anduin and Vivian about the Ministry of Magic and the Death Eaters with a lot of resentment. From this, Anduin could also see that there should be different voices within the current Ministry of Magic, which led to the Ministry of Magic not fully fighting against Voldemort. It seemed that this change of Minister for Magic was also related to this.
"That's terrible, your uncle saw the Death Eaters commit the crime with his own eyes and still couldn't arrest him?" Vivian said with disbelief.
"Many Death Eaters wear masks when they act, so sometimes even if you recognize who they are, there's nothing you can do." Anduin explained to Vivian, after all, he had personally dealt with Death Eaters.
Charles McKinnon nodded after hearing Anduin's words, but couldn't help but wonder how Anduin knew so much.
While the little kids were concerned about national affairs, the train officially started.
"The train is finally moving, I heard it takes several hours to get there." Vivian began to mutter again.
Several hours? Anduin didn't understand why the magical world, with such convenient magic, still spent several hours on the road, and in such a backward way with a steam train, so he asked the two people next to him.
