Mastering Lightning from Hogwarts
#178 - Unbreakable Vow
Finally, after more than half an hour of negotiations, the two reached a consensus on the transaction price.
For Yulia, this half hour felt like an eternity. It was as if with every word she spoke, the hard work of generations could vanish into thin air. How could she not feel heartache?
And Anduin curled his lip, feeling somewhat dissatisfied with the Travers family's stinginess. But fortunately, the final gain was better than he had expected, so it wasn't a complete waste of his time.
"Now that we've settled everything, I'll go and invite a witness to make the vow," Yulia said, wiping the sweat from her forehead.
"Remember not to find that Umbridge woman. She's too stupid. I'm afraid she'll mispronounce a spell and kill me," Anduin reminded Yulia.
She nodded helplessly and stood up, but her legs gave way, and she almost fell to the ground. Fortunately, she grabbed the armrest of the sofa to avoid embarrassment. The previous negotiations had really taken too much of her energy, and she could only slowly walk out of the room by supporting herself against the wall.
Yulia didn't keep Anduin waiting for too long, and soon led a middle-aged man into the room.
"This is Cornelius Fudge, the Head of the Department of International Magical Cooperation. I think he would be the best witness for us," Yulia introduced wearily to Anduin.
"Hello, Mr. Wilson, your feat today is truly amazing. Everyone in the Ministry is talking about you." Fudge greeted Anduin very modestly. He had been suddenly asked by Yulia to be a witness and still hadn't figured out what was going on.
"You flatter me. It's all I should do. If you don't mind, I'll preside over your 'Unbreakable Vow' spell first," Anduin said with a smile.
"Oh? Do I have to take a vow too?" Fudge asked, feeling a little confused.
"It's just for confidentiality. Don't worry, it won't embarrass you," Yulia added. She had just grabbed an acquaintance without even explaining the details, and of course, she didn't dare to.
Fudge shrugged indifferently and then extended his right hand with a smile, "Well, if it allows me to hold Yulia's right hand again, it's worth it."
Yulia didn't react to Fudge's compliment and just mechanically extended her right hand, clasping it with his.
"Cornelius Fudge, are you willing to keep everything you see and hear next, as well as everything about Yulia and me, confidential?" Anduin asked, drawing his wand and mobilizing his magic.
"I am willing," Fudge replied very easily, even a little inexplicably.
However, Yulia breathed a sigh of relief and then said, "Okay, now it's our turn."
Anduin nodded noncommittally, then took out a piece of parchment from his body, slightly modified a few numbers on it with a quill, and handed it to Fudge, saying, "Next, please make the vow for us according to the content on the parchment."
He had prepared it in advance. This little bastard was indeed premeditating. Yulia watched Anduin fill in some numbers, and she understood what was going on, but at this point, it was irreversible, and she could only grit her teeth and accept it.
Fudge, who took the parchment, felt very relaxed. He even thoughtfully prepared the vow text in advance, until he saw the content on the parchment clearly.
Fudge stared at the words on the parchment, his eyes wide. If he could speak Chinese now, he would definitely shout 'Holy crap!' three times, then look up at Yulia, then down at the parchment, and then up at Anduin again, as if confirming that he wasn't dreaming.
"Hurry up, Mr. Fudge, we're in a hurry," Anduin couldn't help but urge.
"Yulia, this, are you serious about the content on this?" Urged, Fudge still asked Yulia in disbelief.
Truly adding insult to injury, Yulia's heart was bleeding every minute, and she could only nod with a pale face.
Then, she extended her right hand and clasped it with Anduin's.
After confirming, Fudge swallowed, and had to draw his wand and point it at the wrists of the two, and recited the oath in a trembling voice:
"Yulia Travers, are you willing, after Anduin Wilson fulfills the vow, to deliver to Anduin Wilson 12749 Galleons, 4 pounds of goblin silver, 3 ounces of refined mithril, a 4-foot-long dragon heartstring, 1 pound of goblin Ulithium, 3 pounds of Agrippa alloy, 6 pounds of parathion brass, a standard bottle of Felix Felicis, 2 pounds of Hungarian Horntail dragon hide, 1 pound of Diricawl skin… and allow Anduin Wilson to copy any 300 books from the Travers collection, and guarantee that the books displayed must be all the collections owned before today, and must not be hidden or transferred."
"I am willing!" Yulia said through gritted teeth with a pale face, this time losing at least the wealth accumulated by three or four generations.
Fudge spent several minutes reciting that long list of materials, took a breath, and looked at Anduin to continue:
"Anduin Wilson, are you willing to abide by the family secrets of Yulia Travers, destroy the Gringotts vault key number 726, and… and solve the trouble that Tokeill brought to the Travers family, and agree not to make things difficult for the Travers family in this conflict?" Fudge almost squeezed out these words in a trembling voice. These words sounded as if Yulia was begging this young man in front of her on behalf of the Travers family.
"I am willing," Anduin replied with a smile.
Then a thin, dazzling tongue of fire spewed out from the wand, like a red-hot metal wire, wrapped around their clasped hands.
The Unbreakable Vow was established!
After the vow, Yulia seemed to have lost all her strength, and staggered, almost falling, but Fudge reacted quickly and supported her.
"Fulfill your vow, Anduin," Yulia said to Anduin with a pale face.
"As you wish."
Then Anduin took out the key, threw it into the air, and summoned a ball of fire with his wand to burn it. Before long, the brass key was melted into a metal ball.
"And Tokeill, he's currently under Moody's heavy protection, what are you going to do?" Yulia looked at Anduin hatefully.
"Isn't that simple?" Anduin raised his right hand and snapped his fingers, "Okay, it's solved."
"Are you kidding me?" Yulia felt like she was being played and was about to step forward to question him.
"Is it a joke? Just go and check it yourself. Don't tell me I can't know one or two spells you don't know?" Anduin sneered at Yulia's ugly state.
