Mastering Lightning from Hogwarts
#184 - 277 Diagon Alley
After a day of rest, Anduin finally recovered his energy. He had a quick breakfast with Augusta, then used the Longbottom's fireplace to travel to the Leaky Cauldron.
It was time to take possession of the house in Diagon Alley.
Number 277 Diagon Alley, the three-story building Anduin obtained from Torquil, still sat quietly on the street.
Although this was the south side of Diagon Alley, not as crowded as the north side, many pedestrians could still be seen passing by the building.
And returning here again, Anduin could finally justifiably enter directly from the front.

After entering the house, he re-examined the interior environment.
The main entrance on the ground floor was in the middle of the building, a single door with a metal frame. The upper part of the door was glass, but now it was covered with a curtain. Large glass windows were embedded in the walls on both sides of the door, but they were also mostly covered with curtains, so the entire ground floor seemed very dim.
After pulling open the curtains and drapes, the direct sunlight illuminated the entire ground floor.
It was obvious that the building was intended for commercial use when it was built, and Anduin had no intention of changing this. However, all the locks in the house had to be replaced.
With the visibility clear, Anduin could finally get a glimpse of the entire ground floor. The floor and walls of the house were pieced together with the same neat large stone bricks as the second and third floors, and the surface was very smooth.
The entire ground floor was a spacious open space, nearly thirty meters wide horizontally and at least sixty meters long vertically, with a direct area of more than two hundred square meters. Even if half of it was partitioned off for a shop, it would be very spacious.
Along the edges of both sides of the room were rows of shelves against the walls, empty and covered in dust. There was a fireplace against the wall on the inner side of the room, connected in a straight line with the fireplaces in the basement, second, and third floors. The whole room had a dull, closed-off feel.
"It seems the entire ground floor has been abandoned for quite some time. Those Death Eaters probably just used it as a corridor to the front door," Anduin observed carefully. "But apart from some dust, it's kept very dry. I should clean the ground floor first."
With that in mind, Anduin mobilized his magic. A whirlwind swept through the room with him as the center, rolling up all the dust on the ground and shelves into a ball, then throwing it out the window. Then, he used the 'Scouring Charm' to scrub the room again, dried it with a spell, and opened the windows to ventilate.
Soon, the entire hall exuded a refreshing atmosphere.
Anduin used the same operation to clean the second and third floors, especially the places where the Death Eaters had been lying the night before. He even used the Extraction Charm to clean the stains from the carpets, sofas, wall crevices, and other places.
"Next is to clean the rooms on the third floor. Last time I discovered that the rooms here are very special. Not every room is built with stone bricks, so the original layout wasn't like this."
With that in mind, Anduin shrunk all the furniture and beds in the five guest rooms with the Shrinking Charm, then took them away. These looked like temporary appliances, and the quality was very ordinary. The beds and quilts were the same as those in the basement, and should have been taken out for temporary use.
He didn't want to use anything that these Death Eaters had used, so he planned to collect them all and throw them away.
Then he began to feel along the walls on the third floor. Sure enough, these rooms were all temporarily separated by mud brick walls, and even the doors were newly opened.
Next, Anduin began a violent demolition, smashing all the mud brick walls and moving them all away, only retaining the original stone wall structure of the house. After cleaning, the entire third floor was restored to its original appearance.
The entire third floor actually only had two rooms, one large and one small, and the washroom was actually connected to the large room. It looked like the entire third floor only had a master bedroom, a secondary bedroom, and a living room.
"The layout is not bad, and the place is very spacious. Next, I can redecorate it and live in it," Anduin nodded, feeling very satisfied.
In the following day, Anduin spent a whole day purchasing a large amount of furniture and decorations from Diagon Alley and Muggle shopping malls. Fortunately, transportation was not a problem with the help of magic.
Then he rearranged the master bedroom on the third floor, including carpets, curtains, a double four-poster bed, various seats, etc. After all the decorations, the room finally had some atmosphere of home. At the same time, he also replaced all the locks in the entire house, which made him feel more at ease.
"At least it's habitable. This way, I have a fixed residence, and I don't have to live with others all the time during holidays," Anduin thought contentedly, patting his hands.
But this was not over. Anduin sat down at his desk, took out a piece of parchment, and began to write and draw on it.
He also had to re-arrange a new set of protective magic for the entire house. He was very disdainful of the protective spells used by the previous Death Eaters, and he planned to carefully plan his future residence.
"In terms of vigilance, recent research on the Sneakoscope can be considered a small achievement. The rune of 'Malice Perception' should be mastered in a while, and this must be added.
"The conventional vigilance spell cannot be missed, and some deployments must be made for counter-reconnaissance, including the chimney and sewers.
"Then the 'Anti-Alohomora Charm' must be applied to the doors and windows, and the second and third floors must have a one-way 'Confundus Charm' and 'Muffliato Charm', so that people outside cannot monitor the inside through the windows.
"There must be an 'Anti-Disapparition Charm' in the house, and a delayed 'Hominem Revelio Charm' and 'Tracking Charm' must be added to the ground, so that if someone has broken in, they can leave traces. Also, an 'Anti-Intruder Charm' that can produce a repelling effect must be applied to the walls."
"In addition to the basic 'Protego Totalum' and 'Fidelius Charm', maybe I have to make some protective traps, similar to the physical trigger defense mechanism like the Earth Sword Thunder, and I can also hang a few double-sided mirrors in the house for monitoring, but that thing is a Cairo specialty, and there are not many in circulation in the UK."
He filled a whole page of parchment with a dense residential protection plan. Next, after he collected the reward from Yulia, he could start implementing it.
After arranging everything, Anduin returned directly from the fireplace at 277 Diagon Alley to the Longbottom's house, just in time for dinner.
After another day passed, Anduin received the long-awaited good news, good news from Yulia.
"The things are finally gathered? The efficiency is not slow," Anduin thought, looking at the letter signed Travers.
