Mastering Lightning from Hogwarts

#31 - Half-Blood Prince?

In his opinion, magical reserves were related to a wizard's physiological growth, meaning they could be increased with age. Physical exercise and consuming ingredients from magical creatures could also achieve this effect. He felt a significant increase in his magical power after eating Hagrid's dragon liver, reminding him that Hagrid was a source he could exploit. He thought about visiting him often, hoping to snag some more dragon meat.

Magical intensity, on the other hand, was more influenced by willpower and emotions. The spell textbooks also contained relevant records, noting that angry individuals often unleashed attack spells with greatly enhanced power. Many wizards with dark minds also found mastering dark magic to be much easier. The description of willpower was more vague, but wizards with strong willpower often cast spells that were stable and resilient. Anduin was someone with extremely strong willpower.

Magical sensitivity was a concept Anduin learned from Professor Flitwick. Through martial arts, meditation, and his previous weighted and delayed training with the Levitation Charm, Anduin found it increasingly easy to control his magic. He didn't understand what this meant before, but now he realized it was a sign of increased magical sensitivity. Hardening his muscles allowed magic to connect more closely with his body, meditation allowed him to clear his mind and enhance his perception, and weighted and prolonged training kept magic in a state of output and activity, all of which were beneficial for a wizard's perception of magic.

Anduin planned to continue this training. The Slytherin dormitories were also quite spacious, as the underground area was large enough for him to practice. As for a spell practice area, Anduin planned to master most of the basic spells first before finding one.

After deciding on his future plans, Anduin plunged into the sea of books.

Meanwhile, after a seemingly calm week at Hogwarts, the conflict between Slytherin and Gryffindor slowly began to unfold.

"The 'Century Charms' journal is a monthly publication, released once a month. Hogwarts Library has a collection, but the number is limited, so you'll have to see if you have a chance to borrow it. Also, there's a delay of about six months; the current month's magazine isn't available in the library. This is to protect the publisher's sales, as no one wants directly published material to be obtained for free. You can start by borrowing some past issues; the content is excellent. I also handle some of the editing and reviewing work for this magazine."

A half-month later, after Charms class, Flitwick looked at Anduin, who had come to inquire about the journal, and explained to him in detail.

"I see, thank you, Professor. But if I want to subscribe to the 'Century Charms' magazine directly, what should I do?" Anduin didn't want to be six months behind others, and he guessed the library probably only had one copy of each monthly issue, which might not even be available to borrow, which would be very annoying.

"If you have the idea of subscribing, of course, that's no problem. A year's subscription to 'Century Charms' is 24 Galleons, which isn't cheap. If you want to subscribe, just give me the money, and I can help you send the subscription letter to the publisher." Flitwick saw that Anduin had the idea of subscribing to the journal, which he considered a sign of a strong thirst for knowledge, so he happily introduced it to Anduin.

Are you kidding me? His Daily Prophet subscription was only 5 Knuts a copy, and that was daily! The cost of the charms journal was a bit beyond Anduin's expectations. 24 Galleons a year, which was 2 Galleons an issue. Many magical textbooks cost about the same. This was a bit expensive for Anduin, but then he thought about it and felt a little unwilling to give up, so he made up his mind.

"Professor, please subscribe for me for a year, and also buy a copy of the previous six months' magazines, if possible." After making up his mind, Anduin no longer hesitated and directly gave Professor Flitwick the money.

After paying Professor Flitwick 36 Galleons, Anduin instantly felt much emptier.

"No, this won't do. This isn't a solution. I have to find a way to get some money. My potion plan needs to start preparing ahead of schedule." After a little thought, Anduin made up his mind.

After saying goodbye to Professor Flitwick, Anduin didn't immediately return to the Great Hall for a meal. He planned to visit the Potions classroom. After a period of cramming, he should be able to quickly master some potion recipes.

Searching for old textbooks was neither good nor bad. Finding some old textbooks from the Charms classroom to study was approved by Professor Flitwick, but Anduin hadn't communicated with the two professors about searching for old textbooks in the Transfiguration and Defense Against the Dark Arts classrooms. He was already feeling a bit guilty, and Professor Slughorn was the head of Slytherin, so Anduin had always been afraid to 'do' this in his own head's classroom.

But since he had made up his mind, he couldn't hesitate. He would do it immediately. After thinking about it, Anduin 'touched' the 6th-grade Potions classroom.

After a while, Anduin sneaked into the 6th-grade Potions classroom. He had already visited the 2nd-5th grade Potions classrooms before. In addition to getting some potions textbooks, he even found a Veritaserum potion recipe in a locker in the 4th-grade classroom. The recipe was sandwiched between a tattered textbook, seemingly untouched for many years, covered in dust. Anduin unceremoniously took it into his possession.

Anduin skillfully used the unlocking charm to open the locker door, which contained several 6th-grade old textbooks. Hogwarts' textbooks hadn't changed for many years, so all the textbooks Anduin saw were written by Libatius Borage, "Advanced Potion-Making."

Seeing this, Anduin didn't hesitate and began to flip through them one by one. When he opened an old textbook with a slightly worn cover, he found that it was densely filled with notes. Anduin had only seen textbooks with such high-density notes in Lily's fifth-year Charms textbook. Seeing this, Anduin couldn't help but feel happy. It seemed like he had found something good. Searching for old textbooks was like a lottery, where the value of the same textbook could be completely different.

After roughly flipping through it, Anduin was sure that this textbook was valuable. Anduin returned to the first page to see who the book belonged to, so he could express his gratitude in the future.

"The Half-Blood Prince?" Anduin thought the owner of this book was really arrogant, actually calling himself a prince. This reminded Anduin of when QQ had just come out in his previous life, and many people's online names were something like 'So-and-so Prince' or 'So-and-so Boy'.

After thinking about the past with a teasing thought in his mind, he quickly put away this pretentious prince's potions textbook and left the potions classroom.
