Mastering Lightning from Hogwarts

#623 - Three requests (asking for monthly tickets and recommendation tickets)

“So finally, there's the professional group, which includes 6th and 7th-year wizards. The arrangements for students at this stage will be quite special.” Anduin continued, as if he hadn't noticed Snape staring at him.

“As we all know, 6th and 7th-year wizards are actually in a semi-graduated state. Some have even started internships or job interviews outside of school after passing their Ordinary Wizarding Level exams. After the 5th year, the remaining subjects will only offer special classes to students with 'Exceeds Expectations' or higher, to help them complete their NEWTs.”

“However, since Tactical Training is only just starting next semester, and there hasn't been any assessment for 5th-year students, I'd like to give students in these two years a chance to choose for themselves.” With that, Anduin pulled out a large stack of parchment and divided it into four piles, handing them to the four Heads of House.

“These are Tactical Training elective forms. Please inform the 6th and 7th-year students after the start of the semester and allow them to choose whether or not they want to take this course.” After handing the forms to the four Heads, Anduin added.

“What are your selection criteria? Is everyone allowed to choose this course? Or how will they know if they should choose it?” McGonagall asked with some doubt.

“The 6th and 7th-year Tactical Training courses will be very difficult. I will teach them standard tactical subjects, including not only the advanced class subjects but also reconnaissance, counter-reconnaissance, tracking, counter-tracking, evidence collection, autopsy, lie detection, high-intensity battlefield simulation, standard tactical maneuvers, tactical movement, coordinated combat tactics, wilderness survival, tactical equipment usage, and so on.”

“In short, I will train them directly to the standards of Auror reservists. So please tell them that if any of them aim to become Aurors in the future, or are considering Auror as a future career choice, they can consider choosing my subject.”

Anduin described this with a straight face, as if what he had said before was easy.

The surrounding wizards, including Dumbledore, couldn't help but frown slightly. Although it sounded like anyone could choose this course, the subjects sounded daunting. Could these older students really handle it?

“They only have a year or two left before graduation. Can they digest your teaching content? Frankly, judging by your curriculum, I doubt many will pass. Your subject is new to Hogwarts after all; can you not set the bar so high at first?” McGonagall couldn't help but frown.

Her meaning was actually very simple: these wizards weren't ducks that could have food stuffed down their throats. It would be fine if they were taught little by little from a lower grade, but 6th and 7th-year students, upon first encountering this subject, probably wouldn't be able to keep up with Anduin's pace. For these soon-to-be-graduates, new subjects were usually just for show.

“I'm not in the habit of lowering my standards,” Anduin shook his head decisively. “I want to demand high standards from students entering the professional class. Real Aurors can pass the assessment after a few months of intensive training. Why can't they?”

“And if they really can't accept these subjects, they can just not choose my course,” Anduin smiled coldly, then added, “However, they need to know that once they pass the NEWT exam with me, they will obtain an 'Auror Career Assessment Certificate'. With this certificate, they can directly join the Auror Office in the Ministries of Magic or Magic Congresses of England, France, Germany, and the United States.”

“Moreover, with Moody's gradual promotion and training, more and more Ministries of Magic will accept my standards. In other words, even if they graduate normally and want to apply for an Auror position, they will have to undergo the same professional training.”

“So if they want to become Aurors, these subjects are unavoidable. And even if they don't pass the final assessment with me, they can at least lay some foundation in these subjects, which will give them an advantage over other wizards when applying for Auror positions in the Ministry of Magic in the future.”

Everyone fell silent after hearing this. They knew Anduin wasn't lying. Since Moody retired from the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, that restless old man had accepted Anduin's offer and became a full-time tactical instructor for Silver Flash Trading Company.

Then, he followed Anduin to promote Tactical Training in various countries, mainly promoting basic subjects based on 'training methods' to wizarding schools.

As for the Ministries of Magic, they promoted the professional standards in the book 'Tactical Training'. Currently, the Departments of Magical Law Enforcement in England, France, Germany, and the United States have all received professional training from Anduin or Moody.

This was why Anduin also served as an Auror instructor for multiple Ministries of Magic. He was an authority in training Aurors, so anyone who wanted to become an Auror in the future would probably have to go through him.

“Alright, in that case, let's leave the decision to the young wizards,” Dumbledore said decisively. He didn't think it was a bad thing. Inviting Anduin back was precisely to have him teach the young wizards more self-defense skills. Although Anduin seemed to be going a bit overboard, it was better than learning nothing at all.

After receiving Dumbledore's approval, Anduin nodded in satisfaction and continued, “In addition to the course arrangements for wizards of each year, I have three more things that need everyone's agreement.”

“What else is there? Why is your blasted subject so troublesome?” Snape muttered unhappily.

But Flitwick chimed in, “Anduin is asking for our opinions, which is better than doing things his own way without saying anything.”

Then Flitwick smiled and looked at Anduin, “You can say whatever you need. It's good to have some new things at Hogwarts.”

“It's nothing really,” Anduin smiled faintly. “First, my course has a lot of outdoor practical content, so I hope to build teaching equipment in an outdoor area to serve as a practice field. I've already found a place, which is the area between Hagrid's hut and the Owlery. Also, I hope to have Hagrid as my assistant when I'm teaching practical lessons.”

“Hagrid's hut to the Owlery? The straight-line distance between these two places is at least several kilometers. Does your course need such a large range of activity? Wouldn't the central courtyard in the school work? It's spacious enough as a field for flying lessons.” McGonagall was very puzzled by Anduin's request and suggested.

“Although the central courtyard isn't small, it's not only used as a field for flying lessons but also as a place for many young wizards to rest and play. The facilities I want to install are semi-permanent, so doing so would take up their space and wouldn't be aesthetically pleasing.”

“Also, I don't really need that much space. It's just that some subjects require a relatively large space. The main activity area will be limited between Hagrid's hut and the circular stone pile.” Anduin explained to everyone with a gentle expression.

The circular stone pile was in the middle of Hagrid's hut and the Owlery, which meant Anduin would only be occupying an area of just over a kilometer. McGonagall calculated in her mind and nodded to Dumbledore, “Well, I have no objections to Anduin's request.”

“It's indeed a very basic request. I don't think there's anything wrong with it either.” Dumbledore nodded and approved it after seeing that no one around him had any objections.

“Thank you very much for your understanding.” Anduin nodded slightly to express his gratitude, then continued, “For the second point, I hope the school can open the Forbidden Forest to me. For some practical lessons, I need to take students into the outskirts of the Forbidden Forest. Of course, I assure everyone that I will protect the young wizards' safety.”

“The Forbidden Forest?”

Hearing Anduin's request, the Heads of House weren't as agreeable as before. Snape frowned and questioned, “Do you know how dangerous the Forbidden Forest is? It not only has a large number of highly dangerous magical creatures but also humanoid settlements like centaurs and giants. It's no joke if you encounter them!”

“Don't worry, dealing with various magical creatures and intelligent beings is also one of the subjects of Tactical Training. Also, not every year's wizard will be allowed to take such high-risk subjects. The main targets are still 5th-7th year wizards.”

“Also…” Anduin said with a smile, “My relationship with the centaur settlement in the Forbidden Forest is quite good. I won't let them harm the young wizards.”

“Hmm…” Dumbledore lowered his head and pondered for a moment, then looked up at Anduin, “I heard from Brandwarden, the elder of the centaurs, that you seem to have reached a trade agreement with the centaur tribes in the Forbidden Forest. But are you really confident that you can control them?”

“I didn't expect you to know Brandwarden as well,” Anduin smiled and nodded. “That's right, they are skin suppliers for Silver Flash Trading Company. I know most of the centaurs in the settlement. With me around, they won't make things difficult for the young wizards entering the Forbidden Forest.”

“Alright,” Dumbledore hesitated for a while, but finally nodded. “I can let you try teaching in the Forbidden Forest, but you absolutely cannot go too deep. Also, Hagrid must follow every time to take care of each other. And if there's even one accident, I will immediately revoke the requirement to conduct practical lessons in the Forbidden Forest.”

“No problem,” Anduin knew that this was the most Dumbledore would concede. But after those children entered the Forbidden Forest, they would discover what it meant for accidents to be everywhere.

“Finally!” After confirming these two requirements, Anduin smiled, “Since Tactical Training involves a large number of emergency avoidance and crisis management subjects, in order to improve Hogwarts' safety coefficient and ensure that the young wizards are aware of prevention, I hope to conduct a school-wide safety drill once every academic year.”
