Mastering Lightning from Hogwarts
#80 - Dystocia
Arthur and Anduin were shocked by the news, and Moody, who was standing by, also knew the seriousness of the matter. He quickly said to Frank, "Frank, go and help! I'll notify Alice. Emily and I will help collect the bodies of the Prewett brothers. Don't delay."
Frank and Arthur nodded quickly upon hearing this, and taking Anduin, they disapparated from the spot.
Emily Vance, who remained in the woods, said worriedly, "Heavens, I hope Molly is alright. So many tragedies have happened today."
Arthur and the others apparated next to an old-fashioned red brick department store. After explaining their purpose to the mannequins in the department store window, they passed through the glass in front of them and entered St. Mungo's Hospital. They inquired with the receptionist in the waiting room and learned that Molly had just been brought in and was now in a ward on the second floor of the hospital.
The three rushed to the second floor. Augusta was anxiously waiting in front of the ward. Neville wasn't with her, presumably entrusted to Mrs. Diggory's care.
Seeing the three arrive, Augusta hurried forward to explain the situation.
It turned out that after the others left, Augusta had notified Mrs. Diggory, who was at home, and together they went to the Burrow to take care of Molly. Molly was still fine at the time, only occasionally shedding tears, but after a while, the heartbroken Molly, who was originally crying, suddenly felt abdominal pain. After Augusta examined her, she discovered that Molly's water had broken, a sign of labor. Mrs. Diggory also panicked at the time, not knowing what to do.
However, the decisive Augusta quickly made arrangements. First, she asked Mrs. Diggory to stay and take care of the children, and then she rushed Molly to the hospital. The healers in the emergency department also reacted quickly, quickly arranging a ward. Molly is now in the ward receiving treatment.
Hearing this, Arthur became even more nervous. He wanted to rush into the ward to see the situation, but he was afraid of affecting the healers' work, so he could only pace anxiously in front of the ward door with a frown.
After waiting for some time, the ward door finally opened, and a female healer came out.
The others quickly stepped forward to inquire about the situation. The healer took off her mask and said, "The patient's condition has stabilized. She has just drunk a potion, and her physical strength has also recovered, but her water has already broken, so now we can only wait for delivery."
Anduin asked curiously, "Why not do a cesarean section?"
"A cesarean section? What's that? The patient has recovered some of her strength, but she was too sad before, which led to weakness, so the danger hasn't passed. All we can do is wait," the healer didn't understand what Anduin was saying, but she still told everyone about the current situation.
Anduin couldn't help but frown. They don't even know how to do a cesarean section? Are you kidding me? Doesn't that mean the patient can only endure it?
Arthur, who was standing next to him, asked anxiously, "Can I go in and see her? I'm Molly's husband."
The healer thought for a moment and agreed to let Arthur go in for a look, but he couldn't stay too long.
After Arthur entered the ward, the three people outside had to sit quietly on the long chair in the corridor and wait.
Seeing that there was no solution to the situation, Anduin suggested to Augusta, "It's enough for me to stay here with Mr. Weasley. You and Frank should go back to the Burrow to help. Mrs. Diggory alone may not be able to take care of so many children."
Frank thought for a moment and said to his mother, "I'll stay here. Mother, you go back first. I'll send a message to Alice later, and I'll ask her to help you too, so that neither side will be delayed."
Augusta thought about it, and she was also a little worried about the Burrow. Mrs. Diggory had brought Cedric to the Burrow to help. Now with little Neville, there are now 8 children there. Mrs. Diggory can't even cook for them, so she nodded and agreed.
After Augusta left, Anduin and Frank waited for a while, and Arthur finally came out. He told them that Molly was now awake, her physical strength had recovered somewhat, and she seemed to be in good spirits. The only thing now was to wait for delivery, hoping that Molly could hold on.
The three of them waited quietly outside the ward, the atmosphere extremely tense. Anduin couldn't do anything about it. He was a soldier in his previous life, so he knew how to treat emergencies and wounds, but he was at a loss when it came to giving birth.
The three of them waited until late at night. Arthur would go into the ward to talk to Molly every once in a while, but the healer required him not to stay too long. Augusta also sent a message saying that Mrs. Diggory and Cedric had gone home after dinner, and Alice had also arrived at the Burrow to help, so everything was normal there.
As for the hospital, the ward finally made a sound near midnight. The three people in the corridor could clearly hear Molly's painful screams, indicating that she was starting to give birth.
Arthur paced back and forth anxiously again, and the frequent footsteps made Arthur's mood even more irritable, while Anduin and Frank could only wait nervously.
This continued for several hours. It was now close to dawn on August 11th. The screams in the ward finally stopped, followed by a burst of loud infant cries.
The faces of the people outside the ward finally relaxed, but Arthur immediately became nervous about Molly again. However, after a while, the door of the ward opened, and the female healer came out, telling everyone the good news that the mother and daughter were safe.
Looking at Molly holding her daughter, her face full of maternal love and endless grief, Anduin couldn't help but remain silent.
Good news and bad news came one after another, and two complex emotions were constantly intertwined in this ward.
In the morning, Alice came to the hospital. She had asked the Auror Office for leave for herself and Frank, and the Ministry of Magic had also given Arthur special leave. The Longbottom family was preparing to take turns helping the Weasley family these days. The sudden arrival of bad news, as well as the joy of new life, meant the Weasley family needed more time to digest.
In the following days, Anduin and Augusta basically stayed at the Burrow, while Frank and Alice took turns taking care of Molly in the hospital.
Anduin mainly helped to cook for the children in the Burrow, and Augusta took care of the daily life of the naughty children. The Weasley children, who were usually itchy for a beating, had been much quieter recently, even somewhat lost. They hadn't seen their mother for several days.
Arthur did return to the Burrow a few times, bringing everyone and the children some good news. Molly was recovering quickly and should be able to go home soon. It's just that the Weasley family's youngest daughter still needed breast milk, so they couldn't see their little sister right away.
