#88 - Sneak Attack
"You haven't even prepared to attack me, yet you come to provoke me first? Do you really think I'm easy to bully?"

While Anduin was pondering, a sound came from the other direction. ReadingМ
"Who's messing around again? You can't escape, you little rascal!" It was Filch's voice.
Anduin saw that one side was blocked by the dungbomb stains, and the other side was blocked by Filch. After thinking for a moment, he decisively flipped over the stone railing of the corridor and jumped downstairs.
Then, by constantly creating barriers under his feet as stepping stones, he quickly moved to the corridor downstairs.
"It seems they know Filch is on the other side and want to trap me in the center of the corridor, forcing me to either be caught by Filch or wade through the dungbomb stains to escape. So they are likely still hiding on the other side, planning to ambush me when I run in their direction." Anduin quickly analyzed the situation based on the information he had gathered.
He wasn't the type to run away with his tail between his legs after being attacked. Now that he knew the possible location of the attackers, he would circle back and deal with them.
At the other end of the third-floor corridor, which was covered in dungbomb stains, Travers and three other 2nd-year Slytherin students were indeed lying in wait. If Anduin ran in this direction to avoid Filch, he would pass through the area where they were ambushing.
As luck would have it, Travers was passing by the trophy room on the fourth floor with Rosier and two other pure-blood classmates when he happened to see Anduin's figure, deep in thought.
Travers had been wanting to get revenge on Anduin, but Anduin was always elusive, never around in the common room. Today, it was truly a case of enemies meeting on a narrow road.
At the same time, he saw Filch about to patrol the third floor, so he came up with this sudden attack.
"Alright, that guy must have been caught by Filch. Let's run quickly, or we'll get caught too," Rosier said nervously, looking around, trying to persuade Travers.
Initially, when Rosier heard that Travers was planning to ambush Anduin, he advised him not to do it. But Travers acted confidently, stubbornly taking out the dungbombs he had and attacking. As a result, the guy blocked it without even taking out his wand. Now he's still thinking about ambushing around the corner. Rosier felt that they were in for a bad time.
"What are you afraid of? Let's wait a little longer. Although that guy wasn't hit by the dungbombs, Filch has blocked that end. If he wants to run, he has to run in our direction. He might be hiding in the classroom next to the corridor right now. When Filch chases him out, we'll all attack together and teach that Mudblood a lesson," Travers said with a sneer, whispering instructions to the others.
However, they waited for a while and still didn't see Anduin pass by. The angry shouts of Filch kept coming from the other side, indicating that he had searched the nearby classrooms and was about to come in this direction.
Could that guy have really disappeared into thin air? He couldn't have jumped out of the corridor, could he?
As Filch's voice grew closer and closer, Rosier and the two other students kept urging Travers to retreat. Reluctantly, he had no choice but to retreat.
"Let's go, we'll find another chance to deal with him next time. We'll retreat from here," Travers cursed unwillingly, leading the others away in the opposite direction. There was a tower staircase on the other side that could lead downstairs.
Just as they were walking down the stairs on the other side to the second floor, Travers heard a few 'ouch' sounds, and then the two companions beside him fell heavily to the ground. Before he could see what was happening, a swift curse flew out from the shadows in the corner, hitting him hard. Instantly, Travers was knocked away, crashing into the wall next to him, and falling heavily again. After landing, Travers was completely unconscious.
Rosier was so frightened by the scene that his legs went weak and he sat down on the ground. Then he saw a figure walking out of the shadows, and it was Anduin.
As soon as Rosier saw Anduin, he immediately cowered and shouted to him, "No, no, it wasn't me! It was all Travers's doing! I advised him, but it was no use!"
Seeing Rosier so cowardly, Anduin felt bored. He smiled slightly and walked forward, searching the bodies of the three unconscious people.
He quickly found a few money pouches, counted the amount, and there were more than thirty Galleons, which was a good harvest.
"Don't be nervous, Rosier. You brought them here to give me money. I'm so happy, I even have to thank you. Look, your three months of protection fees are covered, aren't they?" Anduin said to Rosier with a smile.
Rosier's face immediately turned bitter. How did it seem like I was the one who lured these guys over?
Anduin came to Rosier's side, grabbed him up, and gently patted the dust off him, saying, "Alright, I know you don't have the guts to mess with me, but there are conditions to not being targeted by me. This money is part of it."
Anduin shook the money pouch in his hand, and then continued, "Has your family made any moves recently? And Travers, have you heard anything about him?"
"No, no, my family has been considering changing their attitude since Evan died. Now their position is leaning towards the neutral faction. Self-preservation is the top priority now, but they don't dare to openly defy the Dark Lord. Travers has been getting close to Quirk Wilkes, a fourth-year student, recently. I don't know anything else," Rosier said to Anduin incoherently.
"Very good. I'll let you off this time. Just say you escaped from my hands when you get back," Anduin smiled coldly, ignored Rosier, and left directly.
Even if I hide every day, trouble keeps coming my way. As expected, class conflicts are basically unsolvable. It seems I need to speed up the progress.
After thinking about it, Anduin quickly returned to the Slytherin dormitory. He didn't care what happened to those guys lying there.
The next day, Anduin heard from Vivian about what happened last night. Rosier was really cowardly. He didn't even dare to run and could only lie on the ground pretending to be dead. Then the four of them were caught by Filch. Filch directly blamed them for throwing dungbombs. It was said that the few were woken up last night and were forced by Filch to clean up the stains until midnight, and they were also given a month of detention.
Recently, the conflicts in the magical world have become increasingly fierce, causing the Slytherin pure-bloods in the school to start gathering people to take sides. Although Vanessa is already the Head Girl, she still can't suppress those guys. Now, in Slytherin, students who choose not to take sides are also being targeted. In the past few days, Anduin has already felt many people looking at him with malicious eyes.
