Ming Dynasty: Teaching The Prince Dragon-Slaying Skills At The Beginning
Chapter 24: The Real Boss In History, Tudou’S Inference [Asking For Flowers, Asking For Everything]
Is it actually possible? ! !
Of course! ! !
Although it still sounds outrageous, the problem is that such outrageous things have actually been done by people in history!
During the Three Kingdoms period, Wan Zhen, who was in the Kingdom of Wu, was unable to travel to the southern kingdom due to his background, so he could only collect books from all over the world.
Then rely on the species treasures carried by foreign merchants from the south to Wu such as Kushan, Zhenla, Langyaxiu and so on.
Recording descriptions one by one, he wrote the first geographical book specifically used to study overseas, "Nanzhou Foreign Objects"!
The great thing about this book is that it not only writes about Indochina and Kushan, but also records parts of Africa and Rome.
You know, that was a book written between 220 and 280 AD!
More than a thousand years have passed since the present Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty!
More importantly, this thing is actually extremely accurate!
Even until the Song Dynasty, the records in it were quoted in the Taiping Imperial Review.
Even in later generations, comparisons were made based on the collected parts of "Nanzhou Foreign Objects" that have not yet been published.
Compared with the modern data collected in the second millennium AD, the "Nanzhou Foreign Object Chronicles" written by Wan Zhen during the Three Kingdoms period is extremely accurate and authentic! ! !
What is a top boss? ! !
This is called top boss! ! !
Although the top bosses have never been to any of the places recorded in "Nanzhou Foreign Object Chronicles".
However, relying solely on other people's oral accounts and my own investigation and evidence collection, I was able to write an overseas geographical map that even those who have been to these places in the past thousands of years have been unable to summarize and record!
Compared with this top boss, Yan Changqing feels that he may still be modest.
And with the treasures of this real boss in front, then the knowledge gained by him, the fake boss, is very reasonable.
Secondly, Yan Changqing is also very interested in things from overseas merchants.
Especially after he was lucky enough to get a few potatoes from an overseas businessman at the end of last year, his interest in overseas businessmen became even greater.
In the original historical records, the earliest visible record about potatoes comes from the "Agricultural Policy Complete Book" written by Xu Guangqi, a super boss.
The following passage is recorded in Volume 28 of the Complete Book of Agriculture:
"Tuya, also known as potato and yellow; has creeping leaves like beans, round roots like chicken eggs, white inside and yellow skin... It can be cooked or steamed; it can also be boiled into taro juice to wash greasy clothes and make them white. Like jade.”
It can be seen that potatoes were introduced before 1633.
It is even more accurate to say that potatoes had been introduced into the country before 1628, and were widely known and commonly cultivated, because 1628 was the approximate time when the "Agricultural Policy Complete Book" was published.
But if we trace the time when potatoes were introduced further, potatoes should be at least before 1600!
Because it is impossible that potatoes had just been introduced into the country, and then Xu Guangqi immediately teleported to the scene where potatoes were introduced.
Then he saw the appearance of potatoes with his own eyes, and finally wrote it down in the "Agricultural Policy Complete Book", right? ! !
From the introduction of potatoes, to the cultivation of Chinese people at that time, to the slow spread of sowing after planting, and finally to the discovery of Xu Guangqi.
In terms of the efficiency of news dissemination in ancient times, it is not surprising that it can take anywhere from decades to hundreds of years.
So if we extrapolate from common sense, potatoes should have been introduced into the country as early as around 1550.
The time difference between 1550 and the twelfth year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1379), where Yan Changqing is now located, is only two hundred years.
In these two hundred years, is it impossible for potatoes to be introduced into the country? ! !
Scroll up, the "Nanzhou Foreign Object Chronicles" written by Wan Zhen, a super boss, as early as 220-280 AD, already covered information about Indochina, Kushan, Africa, Rome and other regions. ! ! !
That time was a thousand years ago from the twelfth year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1379) where Yan Changqing is now! ! !
A thousand years ago, foreign merchants from other continents came to trade with China.
In less than two hundred years, during the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty, an exotic merchant with potatoes appeared.
In Yan Changqing's opinion, this is completely reasonable and reasonable.
As for why there is no record of potatoes in the twelfth year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1379), it was not until 1628 that there was any record of potatoes in the "Agricultural Policy Complete Book".
Yan Changqing is more likely to believe that potatoes were introduced in the past two hundred years, but because there was no one like him who knew potatoes as a food crop, and no one was lucky enough to plant them.
Therefore, although it may have appeared briefly during the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty, it then quietly disappeared into the long river of history.
Finally, it was not until 1628 that with the help of Xu Guangqi's "Agricultural Policy Complete Book", he officially left his name in history.
Of course, the above speculations are all based on the results of the potatoes that Yan Changqing bought from Fan Shang.
Also because he got potatoes two hundred years in advance, Yan Changqing is also full of expectations for sweet potatoes and corn, which are the three major crops in South America.
After all, since you can get potatoes, it also means you have the opportunity to get sweet potatoes, corn and other related crops.
For seafaring merchants in this era, food supply was a very important issue.
In order to ensure a long-term and stable source of food during normal sea voyages, or when encountering a shipwreck and being stranded on a deserted island.
Many HNA merchants will prepare some easy-to-plant crop seeds on board, just in case.
Such is the case with the overseas businessman Yan Changqing encountered at the end of last year who was shipwrecked and exiled to Ming Dynasty.
When Yan Changqing met him, he was squatting on the dock, eating potatoes to satisfy his hunger, and trying his best to sell his products to the merchants coming and going.
In this regard, Yan Changqing did not care whether the things he sold were valuable or not, and directly covered all his products in a very grand manner.
He even took the initiative to cooperate with him later and bought a big ship to send him back.
I just hope that he can bring more crop seeds to Daming next time!
