MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith
617 Four Pillars: Uprising
Letting the feeling of adrenaline coursing through his veins gradually die down, the man took in a deep breath before grabbing the shortsword the orc wielded earlier. Due to the size difference between him and the orc, the shortsword looked more like a broadsword when he wielded it.
Nevertheless, that did not stop the man from putting all of his strength into lifting up the sword before letting gravity do its thing, allowing its blade to cut the orc's throat under its own weight. Because of it, the orc began to shudder for a brief moment, its limbs thrashing out.
Seeing this, the man put in more of his strength into the blade, forcing the blade deeper into the orc's neck as he looked at the sight before him with a cold expression. Eventually, after a few more seconds had passed, the remaining vitality within the orc had disappeared, with the man finally rendering his former 'master' dead.
Hearing a notification sound resound in his mind as a screen appeared before him to tell him of the XP he had gained, the man moved the screen to the side for a bit, staring at the lifeless corpse of his former master a bit longer. A few seconds later, tears started to well up around the man's eyes, only for it to start streaming down as the man began to mutter a few things to himself.
"Freedom…" Watching the whole event from start to finish, it did not take long for Valyr to understand why it was considered to be the greatest impetus that led to the Age of Uprising. After all, what the man did was basically the definition of word 'uprising' in the first place.
However, seeing the man stand in place for a while, the young man began to wonder when the memory would reach a point where it would delve into the man's origins as the First Forger. Sadly for him, the voice did not appear as he had hoped, prompting him to return to his attention to the scene before him, witnessing the man begin to rummage for things within his former master's house.
"I need a weapon," the man muttered, stopping in his tracks for a bit after seeing a considerable amount of fresh food piled up on what looked to be somewhat clean cloth. With the pile of food in front of him composed of meat, the man knew that what he might do next would be considered taboo.
Then again, he might have already broken it with the bits of food the orc had been feeding him for many years.
"Sorry." Closing his eyes for a bit to pray to the heavens above, the man let out a low sigh as he allowed his hunger to get the better of him, gnawing on an amount of food that was greater than the orc had given him before. Though the thought of eating fellow humans wreaked havoc to his stomach, the man powered through, only stopping when he felt like his hunger had satiated.
Drinking a lot of water after eating his fill, only then did the man return to rummage the place for weapons he could use. Fortunately for the man, it did not take long for him to find a few daggers that the orc had as spares. Recalling the numerous times the crowd of orcs had lacerated his body with similar-looking daggers in the past, the man found it somewhat fitting that he would be using them as a weapon.
"But my strength isn't enough…" Affixing a few of the daggers to his waist by making use of the strap of cloth that held his former master's clothes in place, the man clenched his fists for a bit as he thought about his chances of winning against the orcs. "If I want to make sure I could save other humans from the orcs… I need to get stronger."
At those words, the man returned his attention to the notification that appeared in his screen, only to open a couple of screens soon after that seemed to give him more information regarding the system he had awakened. After fiddling around with it for a couple of minutes, the man's aura had seemingly doubled in power, causing Valyr to feel like the man had more or less matched the strength of the orc he had just killed.
"Not enough…" Doing a few basic movements to assess how much his strength had improved, the man slowly shook his head as he stood in place to ponder over a few things for a bit. Eventually, after a minute or so of silence, the man grabbed the rope the orc had used to bind him in the past, tying it around the hilt of a dagger in a way that it would not break off so easily.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
Tightly gripping the rope with both hands, the man soon put the entirety of his strength into swinging the rope, causing the dagger at the end to dart around the place at alarming speeds. Faintly nodding in satisfaction as he swung the makeshift chain blade around for a bit longer, the man eventually affixed the weapon to his waist as he headed outside his former master's abode with a faint sigh.
'Gaining a great amount of strength from killing his former master, the man known as the First Forger would then begin to wreak havoc within the orc settlement he was in, freeing the humans that were under the hands of the orcs that looked to be the weakest in the village.' Just as Valyr was about to follow the man as he left the orc's house, the voice began to resound in his mind, giving him some needed information that allowed him to get a better idea of what was going on.
Coincidentally, after the voice began to talk about what was currently happening, the memory began to move at breakneck pace, with minutes turning to seconds, while hours turned into minutes. In the blink of an eye, Valyr witnessed the man gradually create a massacre within the orc settlement, gaining a bit more strength with every orc he had slain.
'Saving the humans from captivity, the man began to teach them about the system, as well as the way in which one went about getting stronger,' said the voice. 'Though many of the humans the man freed died at the beginning, those that survived slowly grasped the basics of combat and were able to fend themselves off against the rage of the orcs.'
'By the time a week had passed, the man had amassed a group of over 50 people that had the combat prowess to fight against the orcs and free more humans,' the voice continued. 'Then, by the time another week had passed, all of the orcs within the settlement had been slain, with the humans cleaning up the place to use it for their own.'
'It was at this moment that the Age of Uprising truly began.'
