Song Jujing's words were final and Zhang Renshu didn't have the basics to reject her.

She would be returning to City S soon, when she comes back, they would talk at length.

"Fine! Tell Liling to come and pick up her things. I can send my driver to deliver her things to her new place."

Song Jujing didn't accept his concern. "I will call a moving company to help her, you don't have to butt in. The only thing you can do for me, is to be around on the day she would come over."

Zhang Renshu understood she was afraid that Liling would be bullied and let out a sigh. "I will be around then."

After ending the conversation with him, she called Zhang Liling immediately.

"Your father will call you soon. He will tell you when to come and pick your things up, and he would also be at home on that day."

"Mum, how did you do it? Also, your mood doesn't sound good, what happened? Did you two fight again?" Zhang Liling asked with a noticeable tinge of surprise in her tone.

She had just finished cleaning up Mr. Fang's bedroom when her call came in.

"How can my mood be good after speaking to that man? Anyway, do as I have said. Call me on the appointed day. Do you still have some money on you to move your things?" Song Jujing asked, concerned for her daughter's warefare.

Zhang Liling walked along the corridor. She was dressed in a pair of jean trousers and a turtle-neck blouse. It was still morning and the temperature in the house was cool.

"Yes, I do. Mum, I want to ask you for something else,"

"What is it?"

There was a pause before Zhang Liling's soft voice rang out, "Mum, can you get me another pair of shoes in the same size as mine?"

"You want to get something for your friend?" Song Jujing probed as her tone softened.

A smile bloomed on her face as she quickly nodded. She knew that she didn't have to be worried about being rejected because her mother's tone had become warmer.

"I want to get something nice for Tungmei."

Hearing her daughter being so generous and caring towards her friend, brought back old memories to her.

"I used to have a very good friend like you. We did things together, and we took care of each other," Song Jujing said without thinking.

"You used to have a good friend like me? What happened to her? You don't talk anymore?" Zhang Liling asked interestedly.

This was the first time her mother has ever mentioning having a close friend from the past.

Was there someone else apart from the ones she already knew?

Song Jujing came back from the past and replied reluctantly before changing topics, "Things between us became a little complicated. Anyway, I will get something for your friend. Don't forget to call me when you are moving in, and if anything comes up, let me know."

"Okay, have a great day, bye!" Zhang Liling said as the smile reached her eyes.

Not long after speaking with her, Zhang Renshu called and asked her to come over on weekend to pick up her things.

"...if you need anything let me know." He had said before their conversation came to a conclusion.

*******

Mr. Fang had left for work early in the morning. Today was Monday, the first workday of a new week. There was usually a lot of work to do on a day like this.

Around 4 in the evening, Chuanli called to remind him about the appointment he set up the previous evening.

"Bingwen, what I want us to talk about is very important, so you have to come."

Mr. Fang had been tired of his nagging and texts, and decided to clock off work around 30 minutes later to go over to his hospital.

As usual, Bolin followed him to go up there using the private elevator that led directly into Chuanli's office.

At the door, Bolin knocked twice before pushing it open and letting his Boss head in first, before he followed behind.

Hearing the knock on the door, Chuanli looked up from his desk to see his friend stepping in. Immediately, the corner of his lips curled up in a smile as his eyes lit up immediately.

He was happy that he listened and came over.

"Wow! You made it!" He said cheerfully.

"Didn't you say it was important?" Mr. Fang asked as he made himself comfortable.

He refused to sit before his desk, and instead went over to sit on the white leathered sofa in the room, making Chuanli to leave his desk and come over to join him.

Speaking from his desk with that much space between them, wasn't ideal.

Bolin exchanged greetings with him before finding a place to sit.

"You look quite energetic today," Chuanli said while taking a good glance at his friend's face.

There was no wrinkles on his face, and he didn't look to be unhappy. This was good.

Mr. Fang shifted his gaze to him. "That word would be befitting on you."

"Do you want water? I have a cool bottle in my small refrigerator." Chuanli said while trying to make him feel more comfortable and relaxed, but that didn't sit well with him.

Mr. Fang's casual glance quickly changed to a glare, forcing Chuanli to sit up. "Dr. Li, time is essential."

"Alright, let's go straight to the point. I called you here to tell about your meds. I need to know if your condition is becoming worse."

"What do you want to know about the drugs?" Mr. Fang asked.

Chuanli adjusted his sitting position and shifted his back away from the backrest. "I need to know if your system is now immune to the effects from the pills. If this is so, then we need to change your pills."

Mr. Fang shifted his gaze away to say, "I think the drug is still working fine, but it's no longer effective as it used to be."

"Bingwen, here is my sincerest advice to you, I think you should keep Miss Zhang close."
