My Beauty Variety: Starting from Banshee Town
Chapter 278 Too Quiet
Jackson quickly looked to the side and saw that Ethan was standing behind the pillar smoking a cigarette.
He immediately felt relieved. Hood couldn't hand over his colleagues.
Ethan noticed Jackson's gaze and glanced over, revealing his white teeth, which startled him.
Two minutes passed quickly, and Hood shouted outside:
"Cheton."
"I am here."
"Sorry, I can't promise you."
"I won't give you a second chance to surrender."
"Cheton." Hood shouted again, chewing on his cigarette.
"Walter?"
Hood puffed out smoke: "If you can still find your little brother, why don't you go home and fuck yourself."
"Boom."
The rolling shutter door was kicked hard and made a loud noise.
The movement quickly disappeared, and rapid footsteps could be heard outside.
Knowing that an attack would soon come, Proctor fell down angrily and put his head in his hands.
Not long after, there was a bang, and the room became completely invisible.
"Shet, this is bad."
There were panicked footsteps in the dark room, and Brock shouted nervously:
"They cut the power."
Ethan walked forward quickly according to the position in memory. He stuffed the revolver into his waist and pulled out the Glock from the holster.
"Click."
After a soft sound, the tactical flashlight above was turned on.
The beam of light shone on Jackson's face, and from so close to Chi Chi, you could clearly see a few drops of sweat on his forehead.
"What do you want to do?"
Ethan sat on the table and blew a puff of smoke into Jackson's face.
Jackson stared at the muzzle of the gun in front of him with a smile on his face: "I want to find a flashlight."
"Okay, just take your time and look for it."
Ethan grabbed Siobhan's keys and stood up, walking to the side.
"asshole."
Jackson cursed secretly and took his tie back to the detention warehouse. The light of the tactical flashlight flashed past, revealing a swastika under his neck.
“Don’t we have emergency lighting?”
Being surrounded by dozens of gun-wielding gangsters was already fatal, but now that there was no light, the dark environment was even more likely to breed fear. Hood asked quickly.
"No, the town's budget plan didn't pass." Brock sighed:
"Thanks for your good friend, Gordon."
Ever since Gordon became the mayor, all the funds for the Banshee Town Police Department have been tightly blocked, and they will not be passed if they can't be passed.
Hood gritted his teeth and said nothing.
Proctor said in a deep voice: "You are wasting your time. Cheton will soon find a way to get in, and he will eat you alive by then."
"It doesn't matter, you are with us." Hood hid behind the corner and shined a tactical flashlight on the rolling shutter door.
"I mean."
Proctor slapped the ground angrily: "Let me out. I would rather try to survive outside than be trapped and die here."
"Sorry, you're a suspect now, and that's where you should be."
Hood choked Proctor with one sentence.
"basement."
Brock wiped the sweat from his face: "There is a backup generator in the basement. Even if the power cannot be fully restored, it will be much better than now."
"I go."
Ethan nodded and walked toward the back holding the Glock.
"Ask Emmett, he knows where it is." Brock's voice came from behind.
Ethan walked down the steps next to the small shooting range. The light of the tactical flashlight pierced the darkness and attracted the attention of the people below.
The basement of the police station is used to store debris, and Ethan rarely goes down there.
This place should have been used to store car parts in the past. It was separated by several places. On the other side was a passage, which was the emergency exit of the police station.
"who is it?"
Siobhan's voice sounded alert.
"It's me, Ethan."
It was even darker below, with only the light of the tactical flashlight in Siobhan's hand.
Ethan glanced around and saw District Attorney Alison Medin, Alma and three civilians who came to the police station for business were sitting in a corner.
Seeing the frightened expressions on their faces, Ethan quickly comforted:
"Don't worry, people outside cut off the power, just to scare us, don't be afraid."
"We're okay." Siobhan replied and stepped forward:
"What can Hood do now?"
"That's it for now, where's Emmett?"
Ignoring everyone's gaze, Ethan stretched out his arms to hug her, and rubbed his palms up and down Siobhan's back several times to relax her tense body.
"Next to the passage."
Siobhan felt shy and stretched out his hand to push him away: "You and I will go there."
After walking more than ten meters to the side, Ethan greeted him in advance:
"I'm Ethan, don't be nervous."
When we came to the passage, wooden boxes were piled up on both sides of the wall.
Emmett and Bunker stood apart, one on the left and the other on the right. The shotguns in their hands were resting on the wooden box, their expressions focused.
Neither of them had much communication, and their eyes were fixed on the emergency exit less than ten meters ahead.
They didn't look back when they heard Ethan's voice.
"Is there any movement?"
Ethan stood next to Bunker and looked forward. The light of the street lamp shone on the glass of the wooden door, turning it pale yellow.
Bunker glanced at him out of the corner of his eye: "Not yet, sir."
"Don't call me that."
Ethan patted him on the shoulder: "We are colleagues now, relax."
"OK."
Bunker moved his shoulders, but didn't let his guard down.
"Brock said there is a backup generator down here." Ethan looked at Emmett.
"Yes."
"Come on, we need light now."
Emmett nodded and put away the shotgun, and Siobhan quickly took his place.
The two of them walked back together and came to a small cubicle.
Emmett slung the shotgun behind his back, reached out and lifted up a piece of felt, revealing a generator underneath.
Ethan gave him light. After Emmett connected the wire, he picked up the pull rope next to the engine and pulled hard.
After a few pulls, the generator began to vibrate with a rumble.
After the incandescent lamp above the head flickered a few times, it emitted unstable light. Although it was a little darker than usual, it was better than nothing.
"alright."
Emmett breathed a sigh of relief and picked up the gun in his hand: "How is the situation above you?"
"So far so good."
After settling the lighting issue and chatting with Emmett for a few words, he didn't stay much longer.
There are only two people up there, so problems can easily arise.
Back in the hall, the lights here flickered on and off with the operation of the generator, but it was much better than before.
Hood and Brock squatted in the corner one after another, and Ethan quickly returned to stand behind the pillar.
Only a few minutes have passed now. Even if the county police receive a call from a passerby, it will take half an hour to rush over at the earliest.
"This isn't right."
Brock looked at the rolling shutter door and murmured: "It's too quiet outside."
"Please, don't say such things."
Ethan patted his head, and before he finished speaking, a gunshot sounded immediately.
