Ten minutes later, the two of them arrived behind a red brick factory building.

Several police patrol cars have been parked here and surrounded by police tape, with a white SUV in the middle.

Ethan jumped out of the car and showed his police badge.

The patrolman responsible for maintaining the scene pulled up the cordon tape, and he and Hank got in.

"Eileen."

Ethan greeted her: "What's the harvest?"

"That's the person we're looking for." Erin tapped the notebook: "This driver has worked for a medical supplies company in Toronto for seventeen years."

"The boxes of insulin we found today are the products of that company and were transported by him."

The tailgate of the SUV was open, and it was empty inside, with all the cargo missing.

Ethan walked around to the driver's seat. A middle-aged white man wearing a coat was lying on the steering wheel. There was a small hole on his forehead and blood was splattered everywhere in the cab.

Ethan looked at it: "Is this the driver?"

"That's right."

Erin followed him and spread her hands: "No criminal record, good credit, and a customs clearance permit."

"This guy is a law-abiding citizen, not a smuggler at all."

"Please."

Ethan looked back at her: "I just want him to have good records. If I were the leader of a gun dealer, I would definitely not find someone with a bad record to do this kind of job."

"You have a point."

Erin spread her hands and shrugged: "I can't refute."

Taking out disposable gloves from his pocket and putting them on his hands, Ethan opened the door and checked the cab.

There is nothing special inside. There is a cup of coffee on the cup holder next to the stall.

A flash of red caught his attention, a different color than blood.

He reached for the coffee cup and turned half a circle.

A faint lipstick mark appeared in front of my eyes.

"Eileen."

Ethan shouted and picked up the coffee cup.

He shook it a few times and found that there was still half a cup of coffee left in it. He opened the lid and smelled it. There was a strong aroma. He must have bought it today.

"What's wrong?"

Erin walked over quickly.

"It seems that our driver did not come alone." Ethan handed her the cup: "Please find this lady, please."

Erin crossed her arms and said, "Why don't you do these things?"

"First, I'm going to treat you to snacks today."

Ethan raised his eyebrows: "Second, I'll be a guest at Antonio's house tonight and I'll buy gifts. Is that okay?"

"make a deal."

Irene smiled happily when she heard that she didn't have to spend money herself, and quickly took the cup.

Ethan likes to do things with his hands and is too lazy to check these troublesome things.

"Where are Antonio and the others?"

No one else was seen. Hank searched the car body alone, but found nothing. Ethan took off his gloves and asked:

"Why are you the only one here?"

"A shooting also occurred in another place, and three people were killed. According to the information provided by the patrol, the murderer probably used this kind of bullet."

Erin shook her head and said, "They rushed over to check."

"All right."

Ethan took a few steps back and looked around the entire crime scene.

The gunman's attack was very clean. This was behind an abandoned factory, so there shouldn't be any surveillance.

Abandoned factories like this are everywhere on the South Side of Chicago, and they are also hot spots for crime.

"Detective."

A crisp voice came from the side: "Can you tell me, what have you discovered?"

Turning around, two patrol officers, a man and a woman, were standing not far behind him. Burgess's big eyes flickered.

"Hi."

Ethan greeted the two of them: "Irene asked you to come here to search, right?"

"Yes, I found the body as soon as I got here."

Atwater was the first to answer: "But we couldn't find any surveillance cameras. We looked around and there were no witnesses."

"Thank you for your hard work."

Ethan nodded with a smile, spread his hands and said, "The gunman's movements were very clean and there were no clues."

"But I found a coffee cup in the car with lipstick marks on it."

"Maybe it can bring us new breakthroughs."

Hearing what Ethan said, Burgess and Atwater nodded repeatedly, their eyes full of excitement.

"Thanks."

Burgess suddenly had a better impression of Ethan and no longer thought he was a jerk. She smiled and said, "Very few people would say this to us."

"Come on, everyone is here from the patrol."

Ethan nodded to the two of them and walked towards Hank, leaving behind two hot-blooded patrolmen full of fighting spirit.

"do you know?"

Atwater bumped Burgess' shoulder: "I asked someone to look at the Cowboy Detective's information, and he is actually younger than the two of us."

"Cowboy detective?" Burgess simply ignored the age question.

"That shot at Union Station."

Atwater scratched his face and said enviously: "In the past few days, people from other branches have been calling me, asking for information about Detective Cowboy."

"Next time I get a chance, I'm going to have to ask Detective Morgan to give him that gun so I can play with it."

"If you let Detective Morgan give you his gun to play with."

Burgess snickered: "I guarantee he'll give you a punch."

"damn it."

Atwater pushed Burgess on the shoulder angrily: "Girl, where are you going? It's time for me to find you a boyfriend."

Finding no more evidence at the scene, they returned to the police station.

Erin checked the information at the immigration department and found out that the driver entered the country with his wife today, and had already contacted the driver's wife and asked her to come to the police station.

An hour later, footsteps sounded in the stairwell, and Antonio and the others walked up:

"Confirmed, it's that kind of bullet."

Antonio showed the evidence bag to Ethan, which contained a deformed warhead:

"What did you find?"

Ethan bit into a piece of beef jerky and sorted out the information in his hand: "Erin contacted the wife of the driver who transported the arms, and she went out to pick him up."

Say Irene, Irene will be here in a minute.

She walked up to the second floor with a sad-looking woman, said hello to Ethan, and walked towards the interrogation room.

Ethan picked up the information and quickly followed them.

As soon as she sat down on the chair, the white middle-aged woman with big brown waves in front of her eyes began to sob: "Who did it? Killed George for a truck of insulin."

"Mrs. Wilenko, I'm sorry for what you're going through now."

Ethan tapped his fingers on the interrogation table: "The most important thing now is to find the murderer of your husband."

"Does he have any enemies?"

"Someone who can do such a thing." Mrs. Williankov sobbed:

"not a single one."

"George is a good man, why did this happen to him."

Erin took out a pack of tissues from her pocket, pulled out one and handed it to her: "Please recall what happened today, anything that can help us."
