#159 - Selena

The tea party was held in the Red Apple Flower Garden.
It was a sunny afternoon, and various flowers in the garden were in full bloom, their fragrance subtle and alluring. Colorful butterflies danced among the flowers, especially highlighting the theme of the day.
The flower garden had been decorated. Pure white round tables were placed on the green lawn, adorned with flowers and refreshments, serving as a venue for couples to mingle. Many people were already seated, engaged in conversation.
"There are quite a few people here," Yarrow said, looking around.
"Indeed, there are a lot."
Serena shrank back slightly. She had already spotted familiar classmates from her club in the crowd.
Today, she was wearing a simple Mori-style outfit: a white shirt paired with a dark-colored long skirt, topped with a brown checkered shawl and a beret. Although her attire was quite ordinary compared to the other girls here, her beauty, which surpassed everyone else, still drew a lot of attention as soon as she stood out.
Even more eyes were drawn to Yarrow.
"Hey, isn't that Yarrow? The one who received the Royal Medal last time?"
"I knew it. I said he wasn't single."
"Is that his girlfriend? Wow~ She's so pretty. They look like a good match."
Amidst the gazes and discussions of the crowd, they left their names at the registration desk by the entrance of the flower garden and found a corner to sit down.
The occasional stares made Serena feel a little uncomfortable. She flicked a strand of hair that had fallen beside her face, tucking it behind her ear. Today, she was also wearing a pair of emerald earrings, which sparkled in the sunlight.
"What's this tea party for?" Serena looked around and saw pairs of young men and women at each round table, chatting and laughing, some even hugging, creating a very intimate atmosphere.
"It's just for couples to share their dating experiences and discuss their relationship insights," Yarrow shrugged. "I heard there will be some mini-games later."
He glanced at Serena: "Alright, we just need to wait here until it's over."
Serena sighed softly, picked up the upside-down teacup on the table, and poured herself a cup of herbal tea.
Yarrow glanced at her and hesitated before saying, "Um, do you want to sit closer? It feels like we're not very familiar with each other like this."
They were sitting almost ninety degrees apart, looking less like a couple and more like strangers sharing a table.
Serena looked at him, didn't say anything, and gently moved her position, sitting next to him.
"Just be natural. It's not like this is our first collaboration," Yarrow whispered to her.
"How should I be natural? Should I hug you and whisper sweet nothings?" Serena said softly, looking at the couples who were doing just that.
"If you're willing, it's not impossible, but don't be too lovey-dovey in front of others," Yarrow said.
Serena blushed slightly, took a sip of herbal tea, and didn't speak.
At this moment, someone came to their table.
"Serena? You're here too!"
Turning her head, she saw Blanche, her good friend from the club. She was smiling brightly, hugging a tall boy.
"Ah, yes, yes," Serena forced a smile at her.
"You told me you guys weren't that kind of relationship. Why are you here together today?" Blanche sat down opposite them with her boyfriend, smiling.
"Let me introduce you, this is my boyfriend, Borden," she said to Serena, pulling the tall boy.
They greeted each other.
Blanche looked at Yarrow: "You're called Yarrow, right? Serena told me that you're already her fiancé?"
"Huh?"
"Pfft."
Yarrow's lips twitched, and he was stunned, while Serena directly spat out half of the herbal tea she had drunk onto the lawn.
"You… you introduce me like that outside?" Yarrow looked at Serena in disbelief.
"Cough cough… I, when did I tell you he was my fiancé?"
Serena took out a handkerchief to wipe her mouth, already choked with tears.
"Didn't I ask you last time if you were? You didn't deny it?" Blanche said, puzzled.
"I, I was just speechless, okay! It doesn't mean I admitted it," Serena said quickly.
"So you're not getting married?"
"Of course not!"
"What about living together?"
This question stunned both of them for a moment, and they looked at each other.
"That is true," Serena said.
"That's not bad. Borden and I have been together for two months, and we haven't lived together yet," Blanche said, pulling the boy's arm and acting coquettishly:
"Borden~ Look, when will you let me move into your house~?"
"It's not convenient right now."
The tall boy said very little, only replying faintly.
"Stingy," Blanche glared at him, then looked at Serena: "Then, Serena, at home, who does the cooking?"
"Me, sometimes Yarrow helps," Serena said.
"What about showering? If you live together, do you shower together? A mandarin duck bath is very romantic," Blanche asked with great interest.
"No, we don't do that," Serena said, her lips twitching.
"Oh," Blanche nodded and tentatively said, "Then, do you read each other's diaries?"
"Diary?"
Serena was a little puzzled by this question. Yarrow answered from the side:
"No, I think that even as a couple, it's best to give each other some basic privacy. It's a matter of basic respect," he said with a faint smile.
To prepare for today's exchange, he had done his homework, so he could respond appropriately no matter what the other party talked about.
Serena silently took a sip of herbal tea, glancing at him imperceptibly.

Someone had flipped through her diary when they first met…
"Hey~ That makes so much sense, Borden, did you hear that? Although we're a couple, you can't just read my diary," Blanche immediately said to Borden.
"Provided you haven't secretly flipped through my diary," Borden said faintly.
He put down the teacup in his hand and looked at Yarrow: "Your body muscles are very obvious. Have you been working out?"
"Yes, I do some fitness exercises every day," Yarrow nodded.
"Do you have any other hobbies?" he asked again.
"Hobbies? Well, fishing? Does that count?" Yarrow said.
"Fishing?" Borden actually showed a slight smile on his face. "I like it too. Do you want to go together sometime? There happens to be a large fish pond behind my house."
"Really? I'd love to," Yarrow smiled.
The conversation at the table began to become harmonious. Serena dealt with Blanche's various questions, while Yarrow and Borden chatted enthusiastically.
At this moment, Yarrow noticed that someone was rubbing his leg under the table.
He looked down and saw a pair of ankle boots, provocatively rubbing against his calf.
It was from Blanche's side.
He frowned slightly and glanced at Blanche.
She noticed his gaze and smiled at him.
The foot under the table showed no sign of stopping, but instead became more presumptuous.
"What is this woman doing…" he thought.
It was difficult to say it directly, so he smiled slightly, deliberately raising his voice, and said to Borden and Blanche: "You two have a good relationship, right?"
"Of course…" Blanche said immediately.
"Actually, I can only say it's so-so," Borden said calmly.
"What do you mean so-so!" Blanche said, dissatisfied.
Borden didn't say a word to her protest.
It seemed that the other party had also noticed something. Yarrow sighed slightly.
From the beginning, he had noticed that this girl, who had a good relationship with Serena, was not of such upright character.
He didn't want to say too much, but the other party was too presumptuous, still flirting with his calf.
"Serena, I just remembered that someone wants to visit. Why don't we say goodbye first?" he said.
"Oh, okay," Serena couldn't stand Blanche's questions anymore and quickly stood up.
"Well, Borden, it was nice chatting with you. Let's get together again sometime?" he said to Borden with a smile.
"Okay, of course," Borden said happily.
"Are you leaving already?" Blanche said, a little disappointed.
They all stood up. Yarrow subconsciously looked down and saw that Blanche was wearing a pair of strappy sandals.
Borden was wearing ankle boots.
He stood there with his mouth open, raised his head, and saw Borden smile at him and wink.
"What's wrong? Yarrow?" Serena asked, puzzled.
"N-nothing…" he said stiffly.
"Let's get out of here quickly…"
He said, his back chilling.
