My love game is too abstract
#2 - Ji Xiaofei
Adventurer guilds have a tradition of helping survivors collect the belongings of those who died. Yarrow gathered the remains and personal effects of the deceased members and quickly left the ruins.
Although he had only been with them for two days, they were still colleagues. He found a place with decent feng shui, dug a grave, and buried all the bodies. He would take their belongings to the Adventurers' Guild.
This exploration of the ruins nearly wiped out the entire team, and in the end, the only reward was a small bag of ancient gold coins.
But at least he wouldn't have to share it with anyone else.
He carried his remaining luggage back to the base he had used the previous night, but soon noticed something was wrong.
"Where's my horse?"
Their only means of transportation, a two-horse carriage, had its reins chewed through. Only the carriage body remained; the horses were gone.
The things he was carrying on his back clattered to the ground.
From his current location in the Gleaming Mountains to the nearest town, it would take four days and four nights by carriage. If he had to walk, it would take at least ten days.
And he only had enough dry rations for three days.
Life truly is a series of ups and downs.
Five days later.
Yarrow tossed aside the branch he had been using as a walking stick, wearily collapsed onto the forest path, and took out the last of his dry rations—half a piece of dry bread.
"Damn it, it's been five days, and not a single carriage has passed by on the road," he sighed.
Once he finished this piece of bread today, he would have to start digging for wild vegetables to fill his stomach. Luckily, he had decided to bring the pot.
He swallowed, about to open his mouth, when suddenly he saw a rabbit emerge from the bushes.
They stared at each other for a second. Then, Yarrow threw aside the bread and pounced on the rabbit.
He missed, falling into the bushes headfirst. The rabbit hopped into the bushes and disappeared.
"Damn it!" Yarrow spat out the leaves in his mouth and punched the ground.
However, this reminded him that if he didn't have dry rations, he could still hunt.
After two and a half years in this other world, his wilderness survival skills were maxed out. Setting a trap to catch a rabbit was no problem.
Having an idea, he immediately started working. He found some branches and wove a cage, dug a pit with his tools, and finally, he looked at the remaining half of the bread in his hand, gritted his teeth, and placed it in the trap.
You can't catch fish without losing the bait; you have to know how to give and take.
After setting up the trap, Yarrow crouched in the grass far away, waiting for his prey to take the bait.
About half an hour later, the bushes not far away rustled, but it wasn't a rabbit. Instead, a golden-yellow bird, as round as a ball, waddled out.
Yarrow's eyes widened, because what appeared was actually a Golden-Feathered Red-Crested Chicken, ranked third on the list of top 100 delicious meats personally recommended by the kingdom's master chef, Sadia!
The chicken was plump, as big as two basketballs, with beautiful golden-yellow feathers, and two upturned crimson feathers on its head.
It was plump and juicy, and one would probably be enough to feed him for a week.
He was so lucky!
Leaving the cooking pot was truly the wisest choice, otherwise it wouldn't be enough to stew it.
With excitement in his heart, Yarrow watched the Golden-Feathered Red-Crested Chicken slowly approach his trap.
It was attracted to the half piece of bread, and its head had already reached inside.
"Now!"
*Snap!*
The cage snapped shut, kicking up a cloud of leaves. Yarrow excitedly stood up and pounced.
As a result, a pop-up window appeared before his eyes:
【That innocent girl over there is in trouble! Go help her!】
Yarrow was so hungry that he didn't pay attention to the pop-up window. He pounced and grabbed the plump chicken. Amidst the squawking, a flash of white light appeared before his eyes, and then—
His hands were pressing down on something soft. Taking a closer look, the thing he was pressing down on wasn't the plump Golden-Feathered Red-Crested Chicken, but a cute girl with long golden curly hair.
She looked down at where Yarrow's hands were pressing, her cheeks flushed slightly. She looked away and said softly and shyly:
"Umm, am I going to be eaten by a perverted human..."
【Female Lead Ji Xiaofei, successfully bound】
【Name: Ji Xiaofei】
【Affection: 10】
【She already has a good impression of you, continue to press your advantage!】
Heartbeat Options:
【Hey, do you prefer to be poached chicken or spicy chicken?】
【Your chicken breasts are so small, how can I eat them?】
【Delicious little chicken, do you think you can escape my grasp?】
【Try my meat and egg scallion chicken!】
Tears streamed down Yarrow's face.
Damn you, system.
My chicken!
How am I supposed to eat this?
In the evening, under the setting sun, Yarrow sat by the fire, watching a half-pot of wild vegetable soup cooking in front of him.
He hadn't caught any prey since then, so he could only cook some wild vegetable soup to eat.
The Golden-Feathered Red-Crested Chicken, who had turned into a girl, sat beside him, the firelight illuminating her cute cheeks. After turning into a human, the two crimson feathers on her head became two silly hairs, swaying on top of her head. On her lower back, there was also a pair of small golden feather wings.
She was wearing a pale yellow puff-sleeved dress. The system was really thoughtful, even conjuring up clothes.
Ji Xiaofei hugged her legs, rested her chin on her knees, and looked at Yarrow:
"Are you really not going to eat me?"
"No, shut up."
Yarrow gritted his teeth.
Actually, he had that thought at first. This was the wilderness, and anyway, she was just an animal. So what if she turned into a human? He was starving to death!
But in the end, he couldn't make up his mind. No matter how hungry he was, even if the other party was transformed from an animal, as a normal person, he couldn't do that kind of thing...
"Humans always eat us when they catch us," Ji Xiaofei said softly, "You're so gentle."
Yarrow glanced at her, noticing the +5 affection pop-up.

The wild vegetable soup was almost ready. Ji Xiaofei leaned her head over and sniffed the pot.
"It smells so good..."
"Don't even think about it! I gave you my last rations!" Yarrow refused.
"Umm, just a little bit, can't I?" Ji Xiaofei blinked her eyes at him.
"No!"
"Really, really not even a little bit?" Ji Xiaofei lowered her head dejectedly, pursing her lips.
Yarrow's mouth twitched, and he finally softened. He clicked his tongue and stood up.
"I'm going to get some more firewood. You watch the pot for me, and when I come back, I'll give you half a bowl."
"Okay ~"
Yarrow left, and Ji Xiaofei reached out and dipped her finger into the wild vegetable soup in the pot, sucking it into her mouth.
"It doesn't taste like anything..."
Yarrow returned to the camp with a bundle of firewood, and then froze.
Ji Xiaofei had taken off her clothes and was soaking in the pot, tilting her head, squinting her eyes, and looking relaxed and enjoying herself.
"What... are you doing..."
Ji Xiaofei opened her eyes, looked at him, and said seriously:
"Making chicken soup."
"Making chicken... chicken soup?"
Yarrow's firewood fell to the ground.
"Umm, taking a bath is so comfortable." Ji Xiaofei put on her clothes, stretched, her face still flushed after the bath.
Yarrow stared blankly at the wild vegetable soup, or rather, chicken soup, or rather, bathwater, in his bowl, unable to bring himself to eat it.
"Aren't you going to drink it? Chicken soup is very nutritious," Ji Xiaofei asked from the side.
You motherfucker... you just said you were taking a bath!
But the hunger in his stomach finally prevailed. Yarrow picked up the spoon and scooped up a spoonful.
After swallowing it, tears flowed out.
"How's my taste?"
"Damn it, I don't want to admit it, but... it tastes so delicious..."
"Right? I'm very confident in my deliciousness, after all, you humans even ranked me in the top three of that whatchamacallit delicious meat list," Ji Xiaofei patted her meager chicken breasts and said proudly.
That doesn't seem like something to be proud of.
Forcing himself to drink the chicken soup in the bowl, Ji Xiaofei handed him an oval object.
"This is..."
Yarrow took it. It was actually an egg, still warm.
"Chicken egg." Ji Xiaofei looked at him innocently.
"I just laid it, for you to eat."
