Myriad Paths

Closing remarks

The Long Journey of Ten Thousand Daos is finally finished.

I have to say that this book is really very hard to write, and it even feels like a thankless task.

Many people say that this is a personal opinion. In fact, if you read it, you will find that if you say it is a personal opinion, it should be a collection of many people's personal opinions. After all, everyone's world is different, and everyone sees and feels different.

So their Tao is also different.

This is the "Tao dispute".

Let me give you an example.

For example, during the war between humans and witches, Li Qi chose blood sacrifice, and when he was in the Holy Flame Realm, Li Qi provoked a civil war.

Some people think that Li Qi's character has collapsed, and Li Qi would not do this.

In fact, blood sacrifice is indeed not right. If blood sacrifice is right, it would be terrible.

But it is precisely because it is not right that it reflects the "should".

Blood sacrifice is actually a kind of "martyrdom", that is, for a higher goal, I am willing to sacrifice my purity.

This obviously has a huge impact on Li Qi.

This is related to an important transformation of Li Qi later.

Is Tao a constraint on oneself, or a manifestation of all one's behavior?

That is, Li Qi and Liu Junyi complement each other.

Liu Junyi strictly requires himself to meet the standards of a gentleman. Everything he does meets the requirements of a gentleman. He will never do such a thing as using evil methods, even if he dies.

But Li Qi violated the witchcraft and used evil methods.

So, who is the one who pursues the Tao, Li Qi or Liu Junyi?

In the end, Li Qi came up with the answer, which is: "It is people who pursue the Tao, not the Tao that binds people", and the evil methods used are also the same.

He uses rules and regulations to define himself, so is he pursuing the Tao, or has he become a slave to "other people's Tao"? Has he become a fanatic of a creed?

Maybe it's a bit obscure, please forgive me.

But the plot of Wandao Changcheng has never collapsed, and all the plots are meaningful. I hope everyone can think about it carefully when reading some conflicting parts.

In addition, there are many plots that have such small arrangements.

After all, novels are not randomly generated. Every word in the novel is typed by the author, and every frame of the animation is hand-drawn.

So everything that appears has been decided long ago. If useless things appear, it means that the author is useless.

However, the next book will not be so complicated.

Wan Dao Chang Chang has really exhausted his brain, including the abilities of various powerful people. I have a headache thinking about it. There is nothing to write about it. My imagination has been exhausted, and many people have skipped it.

Because I have always thought that if the form of the powerful people's performance has always been "punching to destroy the wall", "punching to destroy the universe", "punching to destroy the multiverse." In the end, all the descriptions have become "the great way is wiped out", which is really boring.

The reason why the powerful people are powerful people is that they must have sufficient expressiveness, and this expressiveness must not be just the expansion of the scope of destruction.

But I feel that if you want to write about the powerful people, you can't write them as super-powered mortals. It's not a battle of terms, but a practical description of the power and pattern of the powerful people.

How should Li Qi's understanding be expressed? How can the layout of the powerful people reflect "greatness"?

Otherwise, if the performance can't keep up with the setting, it will become a clown.

For example, if we put aside the so-called Daluo and Daoguo settings, we can transfer the motivations of these powerful people to urban novels.

We compare the "multiverse" to "Gotham City"

Mana is compared to "money"

Daoguo is compared to "company"

If the motivations of the powerful are the same, then the powerful are just businessmen in a different skin.

Moreover, the same is true for the Dao struggle.

These powerful people cannot be without their own worldviews, and they cannot be allowed to "default" that the world is primitive, materialistic, and visible.

If so, the values and things they pursue are essentially the same thing.

This thing, in the jungle, can be the army, and in the city, it can be money.

In other words, it is not an exaggeration to say that this group of people are of the same Dao.

In this case, the fight is not just a fight between brothers? How can it be called a Dao struggle?

The so-called group portrait, the complexity of the characters, in fact, is "people with different views".

A group of people with completely different worldviews, values, and life views can only reflect complexity through their collision.

If the characters' worldviews and values are exactly the same, they are completely derived from the author himself and are the embodiment of the author's own thoughts. So from my perspective, I don't think it is complex, but rather very flat and simple.

In this way, no matter how many people are written, it can't be complicated.

The grand goals they pursue in the setting can be replaced by any setting. As long as the setting is slightly moved, the "thinness" hidden under the magnificent text and setting can be seen.

I don't want this to happen, so I read a lot of things to describe a group of people with completely different worldviews. I don't know whether it will be successful or not. I hope it won't be a laughing stock.

The next book will still be about immortals, but this time it won't involve too many things about consciousness.

I plan to write a "swordsman" type.

A heart of righteousness! A three-foot-long sword!

I won't write too deeply or too philosophically, but will focus on carving the plot and story instead of narrating the way.

Of course, the ancient style is still indispensable, and I won't write the type of pretending to be cool and slapping in the face.

I would like to write about chivalry and immortality.

Everyone can look forward to it.

The new book will be released around mid-September.

Before that, let me announce the group. I will post the first chapter of the new book in the group for everyone to review.
