Mystery: Chaos Path
#16 - What a great boss!
While Fors was repeatedly reading the "Magician" potion recipe, Lorrain put away the banknotes. He knew that after this transaction, his value in the hearts of Fors and Xio would have increased by several points.
This would undoubtedly be beneficial to future communication and cooperation between the two parties.
Just then, the waiter came forward and handed over a small note, which was the result of Lorrain's previous request for spiritual materials. The seller said that a transaction could be made, but the price needed to be discussed in person.
Lorrain raised his eyebrows, looked in the direction where Mr. A had been, holding the note. Seeing that Mr. A had disappeared, he smiled and nodded, following the waiter to a small room.
The waiter opened the door, bent over, and gestured for him to enter. Lorrain took a step forward, and as expected, he saw Mr. A, cloaked, in the room.
Lorrain, who had already guessed this, casually walked to the sofa opposite Mr. A and sat down. He saw Mr. A silently get up, then kneel down on one knee towards him, like a shadow, yet fervent and loyal.
"Does your Aurora Order like this kind of thing?" Lorrain sized up Mr. A, who was kneeling on one knee in front of him, with interest. Compared to Hynas Van Naison, who was purely cannon fodder, Mr. A undoubtedly had higher utilization value and was a purer believer of the True Creator, belonging to the group who often received the True Creator's oracle and were closer to the True Creator.
"For the favored of God, respect is a matter of course." Mr. A kept his head down, but answered Lorrain's question seriously.
"That makes sense." Lorrain nodded in agreement after hearing Mr. A's answer, and then said, "So, can you tell me, what kind of oracle did God give?"
Lorrain was indeed a little curious about how the True Creator introduced him to His fanatical followers.
He was not afraid that Mr. A would hear any flaws. For fanatical believers, as long as God did not speak, they were unlikely to attack the favored of God.
Mr. A also did not suspect anything. He began to speak fervently about the True Creator's oracle.
Whether it was a problem with his expression, or the True Creator's wording when giving the oracle was problematic, the whole oracle sounded very chaotic. Lorrain even spent some time to understand the True Creator's meaning. To summarize, it was roughly— "This person in front of you is My favored one. Go and ask him what he wants. You can satisfy his needs, and then invite him to join the Aurora Order. If not, then forget it."
True Creator, so generous!
Lorrain complained in his heart, looked at Mr. A, who was fervent in expression but a little dull inside, thought for a while, and then said, "Joining the Aurora Order is fine, but I like my brain very much and don't want to lose it for the time being."
Mr. A looked a little regretful when he heard Lorrain's words, but he did not have any doubts about the fact that the favored of the True Creator was not a member of the Aurora Order—the organizations that believed in the True Creator were not just the Aurora Order, so this was reasonable.
"As for my needs…" Lorrain paused here, smiled, and said, "Help me collect some information about the Extraordinary hiding in Backlund. In return…"
"I will, in the near future, make the Old Creator reappear in this era. You truthfully convey these words to God, and He will understand what I mean."
Although Mr. A instinctively felt that Lorrain's way of speaking was not like a favored of God, as a fanatical believer, he would naturally not overstep his bounds to question a favored of God, so he simply lowered his head and said, "Yes, Your Excellency."
Lorrain suddenly thought of something again, looked at Mr. A with interest, and said, "Little A, are you interested in joining the Prankster Club I created?"
This was not an idea that Lorrain had just come up with, but a premeditated plan—as everyone knows, he would not lead a team, and could only work to death. Whether it was the current situation of the Mysterious World or Lorrain's abilities, it was destined that he could not be a lone wolf, so it was necessary to create his own organization.
And the "Prankster Club" was naturally the name of the organization created by Lorrain. Although this organization currently only had him, it didn't matter. Lorrain believed that sooner or later, the name of the Prankster Club would resound throughout the entire Mysterious World.
Mr. A was stunned for a moment when he heard this. Obviously, he had never encountered such a thing as inviting someone to join the Aurora Order and being poached in the opposite direction.
If someone else had made this invitation, Mr. A would have immediately refused or even turned hostile, but who told Lorrain, who made this invitation, to have the label of the favored of God on him? His fanatical faith made Mr. A hesitate for a moment.
Just then, Mr. A suddenly tilted his ear, as if he had heard something. The next second, he looked at Lorrain and said without hesitation, "It is my honor, Your Excellency."
Obviously, the True Creator was paying attention here and issued an oracle in a timely manner.
Lorrain was not surprised by this. He knew in his heart that Mr. A should be considered an undercover agent sent by the True Creator to gather information, but Lorrain didn't care about this. He just smiled and said, "Then welcome to your joining, Little A. I will notify you of other matters concerning the club later."
"By the way, I have some 'Roselle's Diary' that I want to sell. You probably don't mind helping me with this little favor?" Lorrain said with a smile.
…
When Lorrain came out of the small room carrying a suitcase full of spiritual materials and returned to his seat in the corner, the gathering was already coming to an end.
"You were gone for quite a while. We were almost worried that something had happened to you," Xio said, relieved when she saw Lorrain appear, and couldn't help but mutter.
"Because there were more spiritual materials in the transaction, it took a little time in the bargaining stage. You also know that money is always not enough, so every penny must be extra careful," Lorrain said with a smile. As the saying goes, to act, you have to act the whole part. After he finished talking with Mr. A about business, he naturally bought a batch of spiritual materials by the way, free of charge.
Lorrain wasn't guilty about this. After all, he did plan to summon the Ancient Sun God when he went to see Medici later, to increase the favorability of the Hot Pot Evil Spirit, while completing the transaction with the True Creator.
Compared to "making the Old Creator reappear in this era," the things Lorrain asked for were just small things.
As for why Lorrain was sure that the True Creator would be satisfied with this transaction—did he even need to say it?
Whether it was out of exploring Lorrain's abilities, or simply meeting the past self, or even trying to connect with the past self, trying to change the established tragedy, etc., Lorrain believed that the True Creator would not refuse this transaction, especially since Lorrain had also bought 1 and got 1 free with a certain Hot Pot Evil Spirit.
"I'm really a conscientious businessman…" Lorrain sighed in his heart, completely ignoring what he would do, which was the result of not being afraid of big things.
