Mystery: Chaos Path
#4 - "Time Travel Diary"
… I wonder if the Ancient Sun God will properly educate Amon. Alas, this place is no longer safe to stay." Lorne shook his head, picked up the Time Worms scattered on the ground, and didn't linger in the area. He quickly packed his luggage and prepared to flee.

Although the Ancient Sun God sealed the space when he was beating Amon, the seal has now been lifted. Who knows if official Beyonders or Amon himself will come looking for him? Lorne felt it was better to live somewhere else.
As for being tracked later—mystical tracking—Lorne wasn't worried. As a vessel for Nyarlathotep's power, it would be strange if the Beyonders of this world could divine his whereabouts.
And as for physical traces, Lorne, having had extensive experience being tracked, naturally knew how to eliminate them cleanly.
By the time the official Beyonders realized something was wrong and came to Lorne's original address to investigate, Lorne had already blended into the complex metropolis of Backlund like a drop of water.
That afternoon, a certain house on a certain street in the Hillston Borough welcomed a new tenant.
After seeing off the temporary maid he hired to help clean the room, Lorne closed the doors and windows, put away the beakers and other tools he had just washed, then took out a small suitcase and took out pure water, golden mint leaves, colchicine essence, and elf flowers.
These were all auxiliary materials needed to prepare the "Jester" potion. Finally, he took out a tin cigarette case from the small suitcase. Upon opening it, he saw a Time Worm lying quietly inside.
The Time Worms left behind after Amon's avatar self-destructed were naturally more than just this one, but Lorne collected the other Time Worms for future use.
Lorne wasn't in a hurry to concoct the "Jester" potion. Instead, he took out one last item from the small suitcase, a deliberately aged blank notebook with several large characters written in Chinese on the title page: "Transmigration Diary."
Lorne then opened the notebook, revealing a thoughtful expression, as if he was composing the plot of a story in his mind. A few seconds later, Lorne curled up in a pleasant smile and wrote on the first page:
"June 29th, Sunny.
I've been in this world for three days now, and even if I don't want to admit it, I have to admit one thing: I've transmigrated to another world, and there's no going back.
Well, there are so many people transmigrating in this world, it doesn't seem particularly strange that it's my turn. Thinking optimistically, at least my current wealth is enough for me to live comfortably. I can lie flat and avoid decades of detours."
"June 30th, Cloudy.
I want to take back what I said yesterday. It turns out that extraordinary powers exist in this world, and my current identity, although on the surface just a rich young master, is actually from a family with a long tradition, whose ancestors were once wealthy and produced Beyonders in every generation, a member of a mystical family.
Good news: I can become a Beyonder, and even choose one of the Seer, Apprentice, or Thief pathways to follow.
Bad news: I just learned that our family has a super powerful enemy named Amon, who will equally devour every member of the Zoroaster family he encounters.
Laugh to death, there's no way to lie flat."
"July 1st, Overcast.
I've decided to become a Thief, after all, this pathway is the most complete one the family has mastered. The Seer and Apprentice pathways only have the middle and low sequences in the family. It would be more difficult to continue down those paths.
Although I don't think I can definitely become a demigod, why make things difficult for myself when there's an easier path?
Anyway, I heard that Amon eats Seers, Apprentices, and Thieves alike."
"July 2nd, Heavy Rain.
Oh, no! Oh, no! Oh, no!
I met Amon! I was almost eaten! Fortunately, Amon is a sadist and decided to raise me for a while, waiting for my sequence to be higher before eating me.
I have to think carefully about how to run away before he eats me.
Fortunately, Amon doesn't understand Chinese. I can write down my thoughts and plans in Chinese, and constantly fill in the gaps to avoid forgetting."
"Done!" Lorne put down his pen and looked at the diary he had just made up with satisfaction. The reason why he wrote these few diary entries was, of course, not for anything else, but to disguise these diaries as Roselle's diaries later, sell them to the Tarot Club members, and use this to fool… oh no, use the diaries to remind a certain future Mr. Fool of the dangers he might encounter, and provide him with some small help, and incidentally arrange Amon.
Of course, depending on the situation, he could also arrange other people in the diary in the future.
In all fairness, Lorne was quite interested in Klein. He himself had never been a good person, so he particularly appreciated this kind of truly good person.
It was the existence of these good people that made Lorne feel that the world wasn't so bad, and that living wasn't such a bad thing.
Moreover, Klein, as the future Lord of the Mysteries, was a perfect investment target. Now, if he brushed up on his goodwill, Lorne would be able to steadily borrow the power of a semi-Old One level in three years, wouldn't that be wonderful?
Therefore, in Lorne's plan, he certainly intended to contact Klein, and didn't mind helping within his ability. Moreover, there would be no shortage of fun and big shots around Klein, which would just satisfy his two needs at once.
No mistake, one head, one hair, one inside, one face, one content, one at, one look, one see!
Even the identity of "fellow transmigrator," Lorne planned to reveal inadvertently when contacting Klein, wanting to see what Klein's reaction would be.
Probably feel surprised, but not directly recognize him, but secretly observe first?
After all, Mr. Fool is a cautious person!
Thinking of this, Lorne laughed, put the diary aside, picked up the beaker not far away, and his right hand hovered over it. The next second, accompanied by the slight sound of bubbles bursting, a palm-sized, light blue, translucent object fell into the beaker. This was the "Jester" characteristic divided by Yog.
Lorne stared at this beautiful extraordinary characteristic for a few seconds, and then meticulously began to prepare the Jester potion, first adding pure water, colchicine essence and other auxiliary materials to the beaker in turn, and after all these ordinary materials were put in, he stuffed Amon's Time Worm into it.
At the moment when the Time Worm entered the beaker, the solution in the beaker had a strange texture, like some kind of liquid gemstone. Lorne's expression remained unchanged, and he neatly added the last Jester extraordinary characteristic into the beaker.
"Gurgle—gurgle—"
Like some kind of chemical reaction, the potion in the beaker turned into some kind of chaotic darkness at this moment, but the color of this darkness only lasted for a second, and was replaced by silver-white. At this moment, the pattern in the cup was like a blooming flower, and like the stars in the sky, the whole cup of potion presented a chaotic and brilliant beauty.
"It looks good, but it doesn't look like something you can drink." Lorne looked at the well-prepared Jester potion and made a pertinent comment. Then, without any hesitation, he directly raised his head and drank the cup of potion.
