Mystery: Chaos Path

#7 - First meeting with Hugh Dilcha

Chapter 7 First Meeting with Hugh Diligence

While Leonard was outside feeding the mosquitoes, Klein, in his rented room, was doing his best to act like an ordinary person facing danger.

Speaking of which, Klein was really unlucky. Formerly known as Zhou Mingrui, he closed his eyes and opened them in the early hours of the morning, only to find himself "transmigrated" into the body of a "big-brained" young man.

After finally recovering from the "brain drain," Klein digested the original owner's fragmented memories. After seeing his sister off to school, Klein, single-mindedly wanting to return home, used the black bread he had just bought to set up a supposed ritual of transference that led to his transmigration, but he failed to return home successfully. Instead, he entered a mysterious gray fog.

Above the gray fog, Klein accidentally summoned two other people. After some conversation, Klein successfully established himself as a powerful figure by pretending to be a god, created a persona called The Fool, and formed the Tarot Club with the other two on the gray fog.

After finally finishing the meeting, Klein sent the two people away. Because of spiritual exhaustion, he took a nap, but he was woken up by the police as soon as he woke up.

Only then did Klein realize that the original owner had been involved in a black divination incident. The other two people involved in the incident had already committed suicide, and only he was still "alive," so he was being closely watched.

However, the original owner's memories that Klein inherited did not contain any information about this divination. He also knew very well that the original owner had not committed suicide, but rather his transmigration made "Klein Moretti" look like he was still alive.

But concerning transmigration and resurrection, Klein obviously couldn't tell anyone, so he could only use his words as much as possible to show his innocence, and after Dunn and the others left, he acted like an ordinary person should.

Otherwise, if he acted too calmly, or showed his knowledge of extraordinary powers, Klein was really afraid of being arrested as a criminal—at the Tarot Club that had just ended, Klein happened to hear the other two people mention some knowledge about extraordinary powers, and knew that there were official extraordinary organizations.

In fact, Klein strongly suspected that some of the people who came to question him just now were official extraordinaries.

"I hope I don't become a jailbird as soon as I transmigrate. That would be too cruel," Klein complained in his heart, and tried hard to recall the original owner's memories in this regard, but still gained nothing.

He couldn't remember at all what the original owner's suicide was about, and what role he played in this black divination incident.

Backlund, East End, Trower Street, inside a bustling small bar.

Rowan frowned as he smelled the cheap alcohol in the air. His eyes swept over the other people in the bar, and finally found his target in front of a certain bar.

The man was in his twenties, with a thin face, messy eyebrows, but relatively soft features, which was similar to the description in the original book.

Williams, barely considered a semi-intelligence dealer, had some connections with several gangs in the East End.

However, the reason why Rowan came to find this person was not for the sake of the gang, but because this intelligence dealer was quite familiar with Hugh.

"Williams, I have something to ask you," Rowan said, his voice not loud, not obvious in this noisy bar, but it sounded like a thunderclap in Williams' ears.

"Who are you?" Williams showed a puzzled expression after seeing who was looking for him.

"You can call me Jake Jones," Rowan said without changing his expression, and then said straight to the point: "You should know Miss Hugh, the bounty hunter, right? I have something I want to entrust to her. Because it is a relatively important matter, I hope to meet her and chat in person."

Rowan wasn't worried that this sudden request would arouse suspicion, because Hugh was indeed a well-known bounty hunter in the East End. Even when "Rowan Zoroaster" lived in the East End, he had heard of her reputation, so it was very normal to find Hugh to issue a commission.

"You want to find Hugh?" Williams glanced at Rowan, not surprised, just took a sip of wine, seemed to think for a few seconds, and said: "I will tell Hugh about this. Come here at this time tomorrow. If she is willing to see you, you will see her here, but I can't guarantee it."

"And whether you can see her or not, you have to give me a brokerage fee," Williams said, making a gesture of asking for money.

Rowan was not surprised by this. He took out a one-pound banknote from his pocket and handed it to Williams, saying: "If I can see Hugh, I can give you another pound."

"Generous kid," Williams took the money, and checked the authenticity on the spot without avoiding Rowan, and then happily put the money away.

One pound or two pounds is naturally not a lot of money for Williams, but just notifying Hugh can get this money, which is almost the same as picking it up for nothing, so he is naturally happy.

Rowan smiled at this, said nothing, and turned to leave.

He also had to go to Backlund University to prepare for his false identity.

Williams looked at Rowan's back, his eyes thoughtful.

"Could it be for those mysterious things?"

As an intelligence dealer, Williams is not completely ignorant of the extraordinary field. He has more or less been in contact with some bottom-level extraordinaries, so he probably knows that Hugh may be the legendary extraordinary, and there have been several people who wanted to enter the extraordinary circle through Hugh over the years.

However, Williams is not sure whether those people have become extraordinaries like Hugh. He doesn't have too much yearning for this, and just wants to continue his current life.

The next day, Trower Street Bar.

When Rowan arrived at the bar as scheduled, he unsurprisingly saw a lady in front of the bar.

"Hello, Miss Hugh," Rowan greeted him, taking the initiative to say hello while looking at her.

The girl in front of him was less than 1.5 meters tall, with messy yellow hair and delicate features. She was wearing clothes that were easy to move around in, and just standing there, she had an unspeakable majesty.

Hugh Diligence, Sequence 9 Arbitrator, future Judgement of the Tarot Club, Forsi's good friend.

The reason why Rowan wanted to come and get to know Hugh specifically was very simple. On the one hand, he planned to integrate into the Backlund extraordinary circle through Hugh and Forsi, and join various extraordinary gatherings. On the other hand, it was to lay the groundwork for joining the Tarot Club later.

Since he has come to the world of Lord of the Mysteries, Rowan will naturally not miss the legendary Tarot Club. From a profit perspective, the Tarot Club is an excellent channel, with various high-end products and information. Whether it is buying or selling things, it is very convenient, and the members are all extraordinary in potential and are future bigwigs, worthy of Rowan's friendship.

From a fun perspective, Rowan is ready for the diary. If he doesn't watch The Fool reading the diary in person, and doesn't find a chance to persecute The Fool, how can he be worthy of himself?
