Naruto: I, Naruto, Start With The Full-Level Shining Fruit

#101 - Chapter 101: Encountering Karin's First Killing of a Konoha Villager

“Naruto Uzumaki!”

After receiving the money, Naruto left the Hokage Building, but as soon as he exited, he encountered someone he hadn't expected.

Karin!

"Why are you here?" Naruto asked, looking puzzled at the red-haired girl before him.

"Didn't you tell me to leave Kusagakure? I had nowhere to go, so I decided to stay in Konoha!" Karin said with a slight smile.

"Besides, all the ninja from Kusagakure died here. The people from Kusagakure probably think I'm dead and won't come looking for me! Even if they do, it doesn't matter; they won't dare to cause trouble in Konoha!"

Dare not cause trouble?

Wasn't Kushina kidnapped back then?

And Hinata when she was little......

"Then how do you support yourself in Konoha?" Naruto wasn't concerned, just curious.

Karin paused, her expression turning slightly unnatural, but quickly replaced it with a smile. "I'm working at a restaurant. The owner is so nice, providing food, lodging, and even paying me!"

Naruto noticed Karin's strange expression and scrutinized her.

She was still wearing the same outfit she wore during the Chunin Exams, which was now wrinkled and dirty.

Her face and hands were also smudged, likely from working.

As for her once vibrant red hair, it appeared dull and messy, as if it hadn't been washed properly.

Clearly, she wasn't doing as well as she claimed.

"Then what are you doing here?" Naruto asked.

This was the exit of the Hokage Building; she couldn't possibly be working inside and being treated differently, could she?

"Oh, right! I'm here to deliver takeout. I need to hurry back to help out, or the boss... I'll get my wages docked again!"

As Karin spoke, she hurriedly ran off, but suddenly turned back, her face flushed, and asked nervously, "Um... can I ask where you live? I don't mean anything by it... it's just that I've earned a little money recently and wanted to treat you to a meal~"

Looking at Karin before him, Naruto was silent for a moment before saying, "If you want to treat me to a meal, do it now."

"Ah? Now? But I have to work... how abo... later... in a few days when I have time, I'll come find you?" Karin said with a flustered expression.

"Now. I don't have that much time," Naruto said expressionlessly before walking in the direction Karin had just left.

Seeing this, Karin could only quickly follow.

"But Naruto, but......"

"You haven't been doing well, have you?"

Naruto's words made Karin, who was still looking for excuses, pause, then she said with a dejected look, "I'm sorry, I lied to you."

"The truth?" Naruto asked.

"The truth... the truth is......"

Just as Karin was about to explain, a wok was suddenly thrown, hitting Karin heavily on the head.

"Ouch!"

She clutched her head and fell to the ground.

Then, an ugly, fat woman walked out of a restaurant with another wok in her hand, scolding her, "Where did you go, you dead girl? How could it take you so long to deliver takeout!"

Naruto frowned slightly, looked at the fat woman, his eyes cold!

The fat woman was startled by Naruto's gaze and subconsciously took a step back, but then said angrily, "What are you looking at? Trying to stand up for this outsider? You motherless thing, daring to glare at people with those eyes, you think you're the only one who can glare? Try glaring at me again?"

As soon as the fat woman finished speaking, Naruto's eyes shot out a laser, burning her directly in half!

"See, you really glared, and now you're not happy," Naruto muttered to himself, looking at the fat woman, half and half, still wearing her angry expression from before she died.

"You... you killed someone?" Karin, who hadn't expected Naruto to do something like this, looked at him with disbelief.

Naruto looked at Karin, "She told me to glare at her, and I just glared at her, so it wasn't me who killed her. I just fulfilled a small last wish of hers."

"......"

That makes so much sense, I can't even argue.

"But won't you get into trouble this way?"

Karin looked around.

Although this wasn't a busy street, and it wasn't a crowded time, there were still some people here!

But strangely, these people seemed not to have seen what happened and walked straight past.

"Genjutsu. No one will know," Naruto said, then used a laser to destroy the body, leaving no trace of the fat woman's existence.

"Let's go. Treat me to a meal. I'm hungry!"

"O... okay!"

Half an hour later,

"You said you were going to treat me to a meal, and you only have this much money?"

Looking at Karin, who was trying to pay the bill with a crumpled hundred ryo, Naruto was speechless.

"I'm... I'm sorry."

Karin's cheeks were red, and she said softly, "I'll work at this restaurant to pay the bill. It's okay, you can go first!"

Naruto rolled his eyes, paid the bill, and walked out.

"Follow me!"

Naruto's tone was unquestionable, and since the bill had already been paid, Karin could only follow behind Naruto in shame.

"You didn't have any money, yet you still came to the yakiniku restaurant, were you planning to work off the debt from the start?" On the way, Naruto asked Karin.

"Yeah~"

Karin replied softly, "Anyway, I need to find a new job, so......"

"......"

"You've been in Konoha for a few months now, right? How come you only have a hundred ryo in your pocket?" Naruto asked, puzzled.

"I... I'm an unregistered resident in Konoha. After the Chunin Exams, Konoha was under martial law. I didn't dare to get caught, so I could only work at that restaurant," Karin said softly.

As a former ninja from Kusagakure, if she were caught by Konoha ninja during martial law, the best-case scenario would be expulsion from Konoha, and the worst-case scenario would be being caught as a spy and subjected to torture by the Anbu!

She didn't dare to reveal her identity!

But her face couldn't hide her emotions, and the owner discovered her secret, using it to threaten her. She had no choice but to compromise!

Now that the owner was dead, she had no more worries!

Naruto was silent for a while, then asked, "Where do you live?"

"I......"

Karin didn't dare to answer, clearly living in a bad place.

Maybe even under a bridge or in a tree.

Naruto didn't expect Karin, a ninja, to be living such a miserable life. That fat woman got off too easy!

It wasn't that he pitied Karin, he just simply hated that kind of fat woman!

"You can stay at my place for now."

"Ah? Isn't that... inappropriate?"

"If you think it's inappropriate, then never mind."

"...... I suddenly think it's quite appropriate, hehe~"

"Don't think too much. I'll sleep on the bed, and you can sleep on the floor."

As he spoke, Naruto led her into a maid... a women's clothing store.

"What are we doing here?"

"Buying clothes."

"This......."

"Don't talk nonsense, choose quickly."

"Okay~"

Karin looked at Naruto cautiously, like a frightened little rabbit, and then followed the shop assistant to choose clothes.

After some fuss, she bought the cheapest set.

Naruto didn't care whether it looked good on her or whether it was comfortable, anyway, he gave her the power to choose.

Whether it looked good or was comfortable was the result of her own choice.

"Take two sets, pay the bill!"
