Natural God's Gift
#141 - The dispute over the God-given seeds of small trees
"Me?" Clover was puzzled. What matter could it have that would require the Ginkgo Lord to summon all the lords for discussion?
If there had to be something, it would only be the Lucky Clover, but the Lucky Clover had already bloomed, so it had nothing to do with it. As for waiting for the fruit to ripen, that wouldn't be happening anytime soon.
Maple Lord said, "I'll take you to the Abyss first!"
‘The Abyss?’ Clover was utterly bewildered, but it obediently climbed onto the Maple Lord's carapace and let it carry it to the Abyss.
In the Abyss, all the lords had returned and were present. As in previous years, they first stored the raw stones purchased this year in the Abyss, then reviewed the account books and discussed various matters.
After all matters were dealt with, everyone gathered at the peak of the Great Mountain. The Ginkgo Lord said, "Has anyone collected any God-given Seeds this year?"
"Yes," said the Job's Tears Lord of the Crimson Flame Spider tribe. "I traded for a Purple Eggplant God-given Seed."
"Purple Eggplant? The effect is tactile enhancement? The yield doesn't seem very high!"
"It's alright," said the Job's Tears Lord. "I purchased it for a price of 100,000 raw stones per year of yield."
Ginkgo Lord: "Five hundred years?"
Job's Tears Lord: "Five hundred years!"
Ginkgo Lord said, "That's calculated at a tenth of the interest, five million, calculated over a period of five hundred years.
As for the Primal Force food for your trading partner, you will have to transport it yourself."
Job's Tears Lord: "Alright!"
Sweetgrass Lord said, "I heard that Lantern submitted a God-given Seed a few days ago?"
Ginkgo Lord: "Yes, a Long Bean God-given Seed. Maple should have already given it to Clover to nurture into a Life Seed."
Sweetgrass Lord: "The interest is calculated at 12,000 raw stones per year for three hundred and fifty years?"
Ginkgo Lord: "Yes, but our total price is still calculated based on five hundred years. For the remaining one hundred and fifty years, there is still a yield of 120,000 raw stones per year."
The Sweetgrass Lord was quite satisfied with this answer, but still said, "Can the remaining one hundred and fifty years of yield be accumulated to buy God-Rank Fruits in the future?"
Ginkgo Lord said, "This question is also what I wanted to talk about.
This year, the Lucky Clover has bloomed, but there is only one flower. Although it is not yet known how long it will take to mature or how much it will be worth, it is destined that its yield will not be very high.
If too many shares of the God-Rank Fruit are promised, there may not be enough to supply them."
A lord said with some dissatisfaction, "Ginkgo, you're not planning to go back on your word, are you?"
Ginkgo Lord: "What are you saying? How could we Crimson Flame Spiders go back on our word?"
"Then what do you want to say?"
Ginkgo Lord: "When many spiders trade outside, they encounter situations like Lantern's, where they receive additional income besides the interest received.
And what we said before was that the interest that belongs to you for acquiring God-given Seeds will be paid in God-Rank Fruits, right?"
"That's right!"
"That's reasonable."
Ginkgo Lord: "Everyone may obtain God-given Seeds in the future, and may also obtain other income in addition to interest. We can't mix them all together, otherwise the accounts will be even more unclear."
Plantain Lord said, "Ginkgo, tell us your plan."
Ginkgo Lord said, "I don't have any plans. I just think we can start making Spider King Silk Scrolls in advance."
"Make Spider King Silk Scrolls in advance?" The lords frowned and repeated the Ginkgo Lord's words.
There are many kinds of silk scrolls, but only one can be called a Spider King Silk Scroll, and that is money that can be carried easily.
Sweetgrass Lord said somewhat unhappily, "Ginkgo, is there a need for this?
The Primal Force of the Myriad Races Continent has just recovered, and most insectoids are in a state of making ends meet. Even if Spider King Silk Scrolls are made, not many insects can afford to use them, and there is no Spider King in the kingdom, is there?
Ginkgo Lord: "I mainly consider two points."
"First, everyone acquires God-given Seeds outside and trades a large amount of Primal Force food. Limited by strength,
there will inevitably be many situations where Primal Force Warriors cannot finish eating Primal Force food in the short term.
If the other party can't finish the Primal Force food, and we keep transporting it, it will inevitably damage our reputation.
But if we don't transport it, the other party may also question whether we have embezzled their share.
If we make Spider King Silk Scrolls and guarantee that they can be exchanged for Primal Force food in the claws of any merchant team, this will not only reduce the waste of Primal Force food that the other party cannot finish, but also reduce the burden on the merchant team.
The kingdom also avoids the problem of trading out too much Primal Force food at one time, leading to an empty treasury."
"Second, in fact, most spiders in the kingdom are not wealthy. Compared to the distant God-Rank Fruits, they don't even have enough evolution resources for the next instar. For them, ordinary Primal Force food and God-given Primal Force food are the most important.
And in the case that we have enough evolution resources, our demand for God-Rank Fruits is more urgent.
We don't even know how much the God-Rank Fruit of the Lucky Clover is worth, and we don't know when we will be able to obtain God-given Seeds for exchange.
If we let the spiders below exchange the interest from the God-given Seeds for ordinary Primal Force food, I think you will definitely not be willing to do so, right?"
"So I suggest that we can make two levels of Spider King Silk Scrolls. The first type is God-given Spider King Silk Scrolls, which are issued based on the transaction amount of God-given Seeds and can be used to purchase any God-given Primal Force food and ordinary Primal Force food in the kingdom.
The second type is God-Rank Spider King Silk Scrolls, which can be used to purchase anything, including God-Rank Fruits and God-given Seeds. What do you think?"
The lords lay prostrate on the mountain peak, silently digesting and understanding the Ginkgo Lord's words.
The spiders in the kingdom can freely exchange God-given Primal Force food, and the requirements for God-given Spider King Silk Scrolls are not high,
which is obviously set for other insectoids.
Other tribes do not have as much God-given Primal Force food in their claws as the Crimson Flame Spider Kingdom, so if they take it out for trading, the value will be much higher.
As for the God-Rank Spider King Silk Scrolls, they are specially prepared for them. After all, they can't even get a share of the God-Rank Fruits themselves, so how could they allow them to fall outside?
If someone is unlucky and doesn't acquire God-given Seeds, as long as they have enough money, they can also acquire God-Rank Spider King Silk Scrolls from their own clan to buy God-Rank Fruits.
Blackberry Lily Lord said, "Who will weave this Spider King Silk Scroll? How will it be woven? How much is appropriate to weave?"
Ginkgo Lord: "I will weave it, referring to the former Spider King elders, weaving Spider King Silk Scrolls worth one thousand raw stones and ten thousand raw stones.
Lantern, I can weave twelve God-given Spider King Silk Scrolls with a face value of 10,000 and one with a face value of 10,000,
and two God-Rank Spider King Silk Scrolls with a face value of 1,000.
The same goes for Job's Tears. I will also weave ten God-given Spider King Silk Scrolls with a face value of 10,000 for it, and one God-Rank Spider King Silk Scroll with a face value of 10,000."
"Then how do we distinguish between God-Rank Spider King Silk Scrolls and God-given Spider King Silk Scrolls?"
Ginkgo Lord: "Simple, I'll let Clover imprint a mark with its soul consciousness on the God-Rank Spider King Silk Scrolls."
Everyone thought about it and felt that this was okay.
At this time, the Raspberry Lord of the White-Legged Crimson Flame Spider tribe suddenly said, "I acquired a Crape Myrtle God-given Seed, worth 100 million raw stones. I want to ask, based on this standard, should I exchange for God-Rank Spider King Silk Scrolls or God-given Spider King Silk Scrolls?"
The spiders were all a bit surprised; they hadn't expected Raspberry Lord to suddenly do this. They also hadn't anticipated that the traveling merchants would collect three God-given Seeds in just one year.
However, upon closer thought, they realized that they were currently in the Origin Power Revival Period. In the previous eighteen thousand years, countless plant species had gone extinct, and countless new species had emerged. Under the standards of natural law, many of these new species were eligible to receive God's Blessing.
And the God of Nature couldn't possibly bestow the Law God's Blessing upon all new species at once. Instead, they would grant a portion of the God-given Seeds each year, stretching the appearance of God-given Seeds over thousands of years.
Thinking this way, it didn't seem so strange to obtain a God-given Seed.
It was just that the problem raised by Raspberry Lord was indeed a bit troublesome.
What Ginkgo Lord and the others had originally said was that only God-given Seeds provided to Fourleaf for nurturing into a Life Seed would have their interest offset with God-grade Fruits.
Herbaceous God-given Seeds like the Long Bean God-given Seed and the Purple Eggplant God-given Seed, when sown into Wild God-given Seeds, are difficult to survive independently.
Even if everyone bought them back, they would eventually have to be nurtured into Life Seeds for the original spiders. It's just that it's easier to recoup the investment by giving them to Fourleaf, so everyone tacitly agreed that collecting them could be used to nurture Life Seeds for Fourleaf.
However, the Crape Myrtle God-given Seed was already a small tree God-given Seed. Even if this level of God-given Seed was sown into a Wild God-given Seed, it wouldn't die so easily with careful care.
From the kingdom's perspective, arborescent Wild God-given Seeds can be regarded as the kingdom's ten-thousand-year foundation and cannot be given to a small spider to nurture into a Life Seed.
This is different from the situation with the Mangrove Tree and the Date Palm Tree. The Mangrove Tree and the Date Palm Tree were gifts from Dragonwhisker Lord to Fourleaf, with requirements for Fourleaf. Even knowing they were large trees, the kingdom couldn't easily seize them.
The Crape Myrtle God-given Seed was obtained by Raspberry Lord, but ultimately, it was only acquired by borrowing the kingdom's power.
It's impossible to say that a tree God-given Seed that can serve as a foundation should be given to Fourleaf to nurture into a Life Seed. This is an act of using public office for private gain. If everyone did this, the kingdom would be finished.
If Raspberry Lord is given a share of God-grade Fruits, then Fourleaf gets nothing and still has to pay God-grade Fruits as a price. This is too unfair.
If it's not given a share of God-grade Fruits, and it finds a better God-given Seed, but doesn't get a share of God-grade Fruits, it sounds even worse and will discourage other insects.
Now, Ginkgo Lord also didn't know what to say.
It slightly turned its body to look at the other lords, wanting to hear what they had to say.
The other lords fell silent. They also didn't know what to do, but one thing was certain: the Crape Myrtle God-given Seed, as a tree, must be sown into a Wild God-given Seed to leave an extra resource for the spiders in the future.
Just then, Mapleleaf Lord also arrived at the summit with Fourleaf. Seeing everyone present, it wasn't surprised, but seeing everyone's eyes darting around and remaining silent, it was a bit puzzled.
"What's wrong?"
Seeing Mapleleaf Lord arrive, Ginkgo Lord threw the problem to it, asking it to also think of a solution and come up with a good idea.
"This—." Concerning arborescent God-given Seeds, Mapleleaf Lord also didn't have any good solutions.
Moreover, this was just the beginning of the problem. They had to set an example for spiders who found arborescent God-given Seeds in the future.
They had to find a once-and-for-all solution.
Plantain Lord suggested, "Why not put the Crape Myrtle God-given Seed into the treasure vault, and take out another herbaceous God-given Seed from the treasure vault to give to Fourleaf for nurturing into a Life Seed?
As for the interest of ten million, a portion of it will be calculated according to the output of the herbaceous God-given Seed,
and the remainder will be borne by the kingdom as in previous years? This way, neither side will lose anything."
Plantain Lord's suggestion was approved by several lords. This way, no one would lose anything.
But there were also lords who opposed it.
Trailing Arbutus Lord said, "I don't think this is feasible. The herbaceous God-given Seeds in the treasure vault are the welfare of the kingdom's other original Flame Spiders. Owning a God-given Seed themselves can greatly increase their chances of evolution.
If the herbaceous God-given Seed in the treasure vault is exchanged for Fourleaf, wouldn't that be cutting off the evolution path of the other spiders? This is not as good as directly counting Raspberry's share of God-grade Fruits."
The other spiders thought carefully, and it seemed to be the case. For a time, they were speechless.
Hyacinth Lord: "I have a good idea."
"Oh? Speak quickly." Hearing that Hyacinth Lord had a good idea, the other spiders' eyes lit up.
"The kingdom has treasures that increase the probability of evolving a Spider King. Based on Raspberry's contribution to purchasing the God-given Seed, it can completely exchange for a treasure. Then, it can choose whether to use the treasure itself or buy God-grade Fruits from Fourleaf."
"This idea is good," the spiders' eyes lit up upon hearing this idea. Raspberry had acquired an arborescent God-given Seed, and the interest was ten million Origin Stones.
It has contribution and Origin Stones, and can completely exchange for a treasure. Even if it doesn't get Fourleaf's God-grade Fruits, it probably won't have any complaints.
More importantly, this approach is a win-win situation. Anyway, Ginkgo and the others had already planned for Fourleaf to exchange treasures for God-grade Fruits in the future. Now, they're just changing the spider to exchange, the result is the same, and no one loses anything.
Moreover, this example can be used as a reference, and they can do the same after finding God-given Seeds in the future.
In any case, it's better than nothing.
Ginkgo Lord also thought this idea was good, and it asked, "Raspberry, what do you think?"
"Okay," Raspberry Lord replied with satisfaction. As long as its share of the credit isn't reduced, it doesn't matter whether it's Fourleaf's God-grade Fruits or the treasures in the treasure vault.
Ginkgo Lord: "Then it's settled. In the future, if other spiders find God-given Seeds, they can proceed according to this model."
Then it added, "God-grade Fruits and treasures in the kingdom are limited. Two-thirds of the treasures must be reserved for younger generations. If it's not their turn later, they can only accept their fate and exchange for God-given Spider King Silk Scrolls."
The lords responded, "We understand this. We are not unreasonable spiders."
Job's Tears Lord and Raspberry Lord said, "Should we take the God-given Seeds to the service hall to register them first?"
Ginkgo Lord: "Okay, after Eight-Prong registers the God-given Seed information, I will make the Spider King Silk Scrolls. If you need them, you can come to the service hall to exchange them."
Raspberry Lord: "What about my interest? Will it also be made into God-grade Spider King Silk Scrolls?"
Ginkgo Lord thought for a moment and said, "I have no problem with that. What are your plans?"
Raspberry Lord: "Make them for me first. I'll keep them myself, so I can deal with things."
Hyacinth Lord also reminded, "Make Lantern's share of God-grade Spider King Silk Scrolls into one thousand Origin Stone sheets. It doesn't have enough resources and may need to use them at any time."
"... Alright!"
