New Ming Empire mixed in America

Chapter 6 Asuka Merchant Ship

The Flying Bird is a high-quality 500-ton small clipper ship. It carries 26 crew members including the captain.

When it came, the Bird transported a full 300 tons of opium, more than 200 Enfield m1853s, more than 30,000 Mini custom-loaded bullets, and some accessories and maintenance tools.

In recent years, competition in the trade route between Europe and Africa has become too fierce. As a result, the captain of the Bird, who has no background, can only drink some soup on this route.

The captain of the Flying Bird wanted to take advantage of being hired to transport opium. He wanted to go to the huge country in the east known as the Silver Country, and maybe he could open up a new trade route.

I learned from a few friends I met by chance in a tavern that a rebellion was breaking out in that huge country in the Far East.

The excited captain immediately mortgaged his small estate and used all the money to purchase a batch of Enfield m1853 rifles, preparing to sell them to the empire in the Far East where most of the army still used broadswords and spears.

But God did not favor the captain of the Bird.

Who knew our Tatar government agencies would be so short-sighted?

'That fat pig-like guerrilla general rejected my request for trade because the price was too expensive.'

'Mom, Fuck, as long as he spends even a tiny part of the money he spent on opium, he can buy all the rifles I brought. Does he think that soldiers going to the battlefield with opium will be better off than going to the battlefield with rifles?

Is the battlefield more heroic?'

'Of course, for the British Empire, using opium trade to replace fighting is indeed better than rifles. But those damn opium dealers are plundering the trade scope that originally belonged to us kind, upright, and selfless merchants!'

'Damn opium dealers, damn Qing Empire generals, let these short-sighted, ignorant, black-hearted guys 'die' (cross out) and go to hell (the writing almost scratched the back of the paper). Finally, I wish

God bless Great Britain.—Captain of the Bird: Ernesto'

In the captain's cabin, Captain Ernesto put down his quill, closed the finished captain's diary, and put it away in the drawer of the table.

After adjusting his tight tie on his chest, Ernesto shouted towards the door: "Little Wilson, bring my lunch in. Also, have someone check the tea leaves in the warehouse and be careful not to let them get moldy."

.The reward for your trip to the sea is all those damn leaves used to soak in water."

After hearing the response from little Wilson outside the captain's room, Ernesto stretched out his hand and rubbed his eyelids, always feeling that something would happen today.

Soon, his lunch was brought in, a small portion of the last white bread on the ship, a few slices of ham, and a cup of hand-ground coffee at just the right temperature.

Just when little Wilson turned around to take a look at those precious tea leaves, Captain Ernesto stopped him.

"By the way, let's take a look at those Qing people sleeping in the cabin. They are the miners shipped to Mr. Rex. Don't forget to give them more food. I think some black bread is a good choice."

After giving a nondescript naval salute, little Wilson quickly walked out of the captain's cabin.

Fortunately, we have good weather today and the right wind allows the clipper boat under our feet to travel very fast.

Arriving at the sailor's lounge, Wilson Jr. announced the captain's decision. Unfortunately, he was resisted by the boatswain.

"Hey, little Wilson, I'm not questioning the ship's orders, but those Qing people aren't worth the extra food we're paying for."

"I would say that one meal a day is already a gift from God to them. Why should they have to eat two meals a day?"

The bosun sat at the door of the sailor's lounge with coffee in his hand.

While enjoying the coffee, he took the black bread at his feet that was meant for the Qing people in the cabin, took it out of the barrel, chopped it up with a knife and threw it on the deck.

Flocks of seabirds have gathered there, and it seems that his feeding work has been going on for a long time.

"Look, these seabirds should thank God because God guided them to meet me."

"Mr. Hansen, I don't think the captain wants to see those Qing people unable to survive the rest of the voyage because of hunger."

Little Wilson's words caused Boatswain Hansen to stop what he was doing and look at Little Wilson with a pair of eyes.

"Remember to be careful in the future. On this ship, sometimes the captain's words may not be useful."

Putting down the coffee cup, he clapped his hands and stood up. He ordered his two men to pick up the wooden barrel containing the bread and walk towards the cover on the deck leading to the cabin.

When passing a mast, he stopped and walked to a Qing man who was tied to the mast and fell into a semi-conscious state due to dehydration.

He raised his foot and kicked the opponent's stomach hard. The huge force made the semi-conscious person twitch a few times, but he showed no intention of waking up.

"Damn pig, if the captain hadn't agreed to hang you, you wouldn't have been so offended. Haha, thank God for mercy."

After saying this, Hansen laughed wildly and turned around and walked to the cabin cover. He took off the key from his waist and opened the cover that was firmly locked with a chain.

"Mr. Hansen, I don't think you should torture the Qing people. They are not slaves, just hired workers."

A rough voice came from above their heads. It was the unlucky guy who was sent to the mast by Hansen to check the cable.

"What I want to do does not require your consent. If you want to stay on this ship, shut up. I declare that your job now is to climb up to the stern railing and inspect all the cables."

After hearing Hansen's arrangement, the two sailors who were walking towards them carrying barrels containing bread laughed out loud.

"Okay, now let's pour this bread into the cabin. Those pig-like Qing people will pick it up and eat it themselves."

After sending away the unfortunate guy, Hansen whistled and ordered his two men to pour the bread in the barrel into the cabin.

Anyway, he would never go in and deliver it to those Qing people.

After locking the cover again, the three of them walked to the next cabin cover.

Skillfully opening the chain, Hansen turned his head and wanted his men to pour the bread down.

At this moment, a pair of hands grabbed his trouser legs from below. As the owner of the hands exerted force, our boatswain screamed and fell into the cabin.

"Never mind the damn bread, Mr. Hansen fell into the cabin."

A sailor did not see the hands stretched out from the cabin and thought that Hansen had accidentally fallen into the cabin, because this kind of thing was very common on ships.

He stopped his companion from packing up the bread bucket that Hansen had kicked over when he fell. He pointed at the hatch of the ship, and the two of them laughed and went down the stairs to the cabin.

Just as they adapted to the dim light in the cabin, the two sailors saw the bosun who was being held hostage and covering his mouth.

For a moment, a word appeared in the leader's mind - 'riot'.

Immediately, the two of them drew the pistols from their waists as fast as they could in their lives.

Unfortunately, no matter how fast they were, they could not be faster than the two long knives with blue reflections thrust towards them.

The long knife polished by Liu Erhe himself easily penetrated the necks of the two sailors.

The narrow hatch of the ship restricted the long knives of Liu Erhe and Sun Laifu, and also restricted the space for the sailors to dodge.

Accompanied by a whooshing sound, the two sailors whose throats were stabbed didn't even scream. They covered their necks and were brought down to the ground by the force of Liu Erhe's knife.

"Quick, drag them to the back. Erhe, hurry up and change your clothes."

Following Li Mingqi's whispered instructions, the noise at the ship's hatch quickly subsided.
