Chapter 169 Goodbye Roland

Chapter 169 Goodbye Roland

The next day, Jimmy got up early to wash up and tidy up, then checked out and drove to Roland's lakeside cabin.

Although I haven’t been here for almost a year, the lake house has not changed much. There is a pickup truck parked outside the house. It looks very old, but it is normal. There is no garage here. The pickup truck must be parked directly.

Outside, the wind and sun are blowing.

Jimmy parked the car next to the pickup truck and took a closer look at the wooden house in the car. There was no one in the house.

Jimmy didn't get out of the car and sat in the car waiting. The pickup truck was still here. Maybe Roland just left for a while. If he couldn't wait for Roland later, he would consider whether to open the door and go in and wait.

Half an hour later, Jimmy saw Roland coming out of the shooting range in the woods where he had been taught how to rotate a revolver. However, Roland was definitely not there to practice shooting, because he was holding a deer on his shoulder.

The deer had a pair of big antlers on its head, but Jimmy didn't know much about animals and couldn't tell how big the deer was.

Jimmy got out of the car and stood beside it. Roland had already seen Jimmy's car. When he saw Jimmy getting out of the car, he didn't talk to Jimmy, but went directly to the small dock next to the wooden house.

Jimmy didn't walk towards Roland either. He just followed Roland's position and adjusted his stance to make sure he was facing Roland.

Roland came to the dock and put the deer on a stone platform. This seemed to be his slaughterhouse. Jimmy could see an ax next to the stone platform.

Roland did not deal with the deer, but squatted down and washed his hands with the lake water, then returned to the front of the house. He nodded to Jimmy, then opened the door and walked in.

When Jimmy saw Roland nodding, he started to walk towards the house. He followed Roland into the cabin. Roland went into the next room to change clothes. Jimmy stood in the living room without moving or sitting down, just waiting.

A few minutes later, Roland came out of the bedroom and changed into casual clothes from the leather jacket and boots he had worn while hunting.

Roland: "Jimmy, why are you back again? Sit down."

Jimmy took out the envelope from his pocket and said to Roland: "When you left before, you said you wouldn't let me come again, and that's what I planned. But then I received a letter, mailed from Texas. I'm here

I don’t know anyone here, so I thought it was you who mailed it. After thinking about it for a long time, I still want to come and confirm with you.”

Jimmy handed the envelope to Roland.

Roland took out two paintings from the envelope, took a look at them, and placed them on the coffee table in front of the sofa.

Roland: "Yes, it was mailed from me, but it was not me. Chambers came back before, and these two paintings belong to him."

Jimmy: "Chambers? He's back? What now?"

Roland: "He has already left. He just came to deliver these two paintings."

Jimmy: "Who are the people in these two paintings? Did Chambers say anything?"

Roland: "Chambers didn't know him, so he showed me the painting and asked me to confirm it."

Jimmy: "So are you sure? Who is this guy?"

Roland was silent for a moment and looked at Jimmy: "You, these two paintings are about you. What Chambers saw was a Chinese, and the only Chinese he and I know is you."

This time it was Jimmy's turn to be silent. He had seen these two paintings many times before, and the people in them looked nothing like him. Whether it was weapons, clothes, or hair, they were all very different from him.

After a while, Jimmy asked Roland: "What scene did Chambers foresee? Can you elaborate on it?"

Roland: "Chambers didn't see much of the scene. The reason why he came to see me was because in the scene he saw, the gun you were holding was my gun."

Jimmy: "So, this should be a vision of the future. In the future, I will get your gun and die in a certain incident, right."

Roland: "Yes."

Jimmy: "Do you have a time? Approximate time? Is there any other information?"

Roland: "No, Chambers said it was a fog, and no one across from you saw it."

Jimmy: "Okay, I get it. Where is Chambers? I hope I have a chance to meet him in the future."

Roland: "No, Jimmy, if Chambers wanted to see you, he would have looked for you when he came here last time, but he didn't. So, he will contact you if he needs it, so don't take the initiative to look for him."

Jimmy was disappointed, but he quickly adjusted his mentality. This time he came here to confirm the condition of the painting, and it was an unexpected gain for him to know that it was him.

As for when he got Roland's gun, he didn't plan to ask. Roland still brought his two guns when hunting just now. Obviously these two guns are his most reliable partners. Jimmy believed that he could ask this question.

If you do, you will definitely have a gun pointed at your head.

Anyway, the goal has been achieved, and Jimmy doesn't expect too much. Knowing that the person in the painting is himself, he just writes it down and is not particularly worried. No one is dead, especially now that he is facing all kinds of things.

The gunman was shot once a few days ago.

Jimmy reached out and picked up the envelope and two paintings on the table, put the paintings into the envelope, and then put them back in his pocket.

Jimmy: "Things are cleared up, Roland, thank you."

Roland: "Are you leaving? Stay and have lunch. The deer I hunted is big enough."

Jimmy looked at Roland and nodded: "Thank you."

When Roland saw Jimmy nodding, he stood up, took two knives from the kitchen and went out. Jimmy followed him and came to the stone platform of the small dock to watch Roland handle the deer.

Roland's movements are very skillful, and it can be seen that he has done it many times.

There were axes and bone cleavers here on the stone platform. It didn't take long for Roland to break down a deer. Roland took some of the meat into the house and put it in the refrigerator. He cut up the rest and threw it directly into the small lake. Jimmy watched

I was scratching my head. Shouldn't this waste be buried and disposed of? Or are there any carnivorous fish in this lake?

Roland moved a grill out of the house. It seemed that today was a barbecue. Jimmy could only watch from the side as Roland came in and out to prepare.

When Roland finished preparing the ingredients and started burning charcoal, Jimmy discovered that it was such a big piece of meat. Roland had only cut the venison into large pieces like steak and marinated it, instead of cutting it into small pieces. It looked very rough.

Fortunately, there are still some vegetables. It seems that Roland is not completely far away from human habitation here. These vegetables cannot be grown casually. Besides, Jimmy did not see a vegetable garden around.

Jimmy watched Roland busy the whole time and did not interfere. From Roland's attitude, it can basically be seen that although Roland said last time that he would not let him come back because he was not Jimmy, he actually still missed Jimmy very much.
