Pawn Crossing the River

$ Chapter 21: Chess Game in the World

A scroll appeared in Qin Lingge's hand. There was no wind blowing, but the pages rustled.

"Every generation has its own talents. It is a good fortune to meet Master Qi." Qin Lingge said slowly, "Master Qi is a pseudo-immortal. He is the first of the eight generations of Taoist disciples. Over the years, he has traveled north and south and overseas. Not long ago, he killed a Buddhist immortal. His military exploits are great and everyone knows about it. I am a weak scholar, so of course I dare not compete with Master Qi in martial arts. If I quote scriptures and talk about the mysteries of the Tao, I have already lost to Master Zhang, so there is no need to compete again."

Everyone waited for the next part. Everyone knew that this was called first suppressing and then praising.

As expected, Qin Lingge paused and then said: "Today we will not compete in force or in the discussion of the Dao, but in ideas, how about that?"

Qi Xuansu said: "Everyone who comes to the door is a guest, the host should follow the guest's wishes."

Qin Lingge raised the scroll in his hand: "When the leader of the Western Dao Sect, Song Zheng, invited Xuansheng to fight, he held a scroll in his hand, and wanted to use the world as a chessboard and the people as chess pieces to explore an "if". Through their own ideas, in the world of the book, another past and future can be deduced. Today, we might as well follow the example of the predecessors of the Dao Sect and explore "if" with ideas."

Qi Xuansu looked at the scroll in Qin Lingge's hand and said one word: "Okay."

The people watching the battle had different expressions and reactions.

"It turned out to be the magical item 'Chess Game of the World'. It is indeed difficult to deal with."

"It seems that the court came prepared."

"Even if the young master is superhuman in martial arts, he has no advantage at all."

"Not only that, other magical items are also difficult to work. This magical item is not used to kill people."

"I think this time it is a bit shaky."

"The young master is afraid of falling."

"Such a scheming, such a scheming."

This magical item is indeed famous. It is not from the hands of the saint of mind or the saint of rationalism, but from the more ancient supreme sage.

In those days, the supreme sage led his disciples to travel around the world and asked the Supreme Taoist on the way. These disciples were the seventy-two sages who later founded the foundation of Confucianism.

Among them was Ran Zi, who wrote a travelogue while following the Great Saint Master on his journey, recording what he saw and heard and the words and deeds of the Great Saint Master. However, the Confucian school at that time was far from being the only one like it is today. There were many rivals such as the Hundred Schools of Thought, and even the Supreme Taoist Ancestor was still alive. Even the Great Saint Master was not invincible. For example, the Great Saint Master's eldest disciple died in a war, and his tassel was cut off before he died. The sage left the last words "A gentleman dies without taking off his tassel" and died with his tassel tied. Ran Zi also died in an accident, leaving only this unfinished travelogue.

After Ran Zi died, the Great Saint Master lamented that "It's gone, it's fate!" Then he took the travelogue away and continued to write it, never leaving it.

When the great sage was about to pass away, he wrote in his travel notes, "Time flies by, day and night." The meaning is that everything in the past is like a rushing river, flowing away day and night, never to return, and he felt that the world is impermanent and changes so fast.

After the great sage passed away, this unfinished travel note actually gave rise to new changes, and began to derive stories on its own, using Ranzi's travel notes as the background, and deducing various subsequent developments on its own.

Among them, there are how the Great Sage Master completed his travels, how the disciples of the Great Sage Master established Confucianism, and then the dispute between Confucianism and Mohism, the independence of Legalism, and the unification of the world by Zulong; there is also the Red Emperor who killed the white snake and replaced Zulong, and then the dispute between Confucianism and Taoism, the victory of Confucianism, the dismissal of all schools of thought and the respect of Confucianism alone; after that, there were the Taiping Dao and Tianshi Sect uprisings, the division of the world into three parts, the two dynasties of the north and the south, the chaos of the millennium, and the prosperous times, the female emperor, and the establishment of the Great Jin, the southward march of the Golden Horde, and the expulsion of the Golden Horde by the Great Wei, etc.

To this day, this travelogue is still writing its own stories. It is an endless book that will never end.

The reason why it is called a story is that there are many differences from the real history, some people are added, some people are missing, some people who should die are not dead, and some people who are not dead are dead, which leads to deviations from the records in history books. Therefore, people in the Confucian school call it a story, or a world in the book that is similar to the present world but different from it.

Qin Lingge looked at Qi Xuansu and said slowly: "Books contain golden houses and beautiful women."

After the words fell, Qi Xuansu and Qin Lingge began to rise continuously. The travel notes flew between the two of them and turned into a huge chessboard. The two of them sat on the left and right of the chessboard. White clouds appeared and turned into seats for the two of them to sit on.

Looking at this chessboard again, it is not the border between Chu and Han, nor is it the 19 vertical and horizontal roads, but the vast world, the two capitals and 19 states, the Golden Horde, Posuozhou, Borneo, Fenglinzhou, the Western Continent, the New World, and the four seas and three continents.

On the land, mountains, cities, villages, rivers, roads, farmlands, and forests are clearly visible. On the ocean, large and small islands, various ships, and strong winds and waves are also clearly visible.

Immediately afterwards, a red sun rose from the side where Qi Xuansu was, circled around, and then fell on the side where Qin Lingge was, followed by the bright moon out to sea, alternating back and forth. In addition to the rising and setting of the sun and the moon, there are also the misty rain, the summer thunder, the autumn wind, and the heavy snow. The four seasons, life and death, and prosperity are all in it.

A mere chessboard is all-encompassing, with a myriad of weather, including the sun, the moon, the stars, the mountains, the rivers, the grass, the flowers, the birds, the fish, and the four seasons.

The world is the chessboard, and all living things are the chess pieces. This is the mystery of this Confucian fairy object.

The Confucian philosophy is very different from that of Buddhism and Taoism. It is based on the world and the philosophy of governing the country, so this kind of chess game is more in line with Confucianism.

Since the chessboard is different from the ordinary 19 vertical and horizontal lines, the chess pieces are also very different. The two people need to separate part of their souls, enter the chessboard, turn into chess pieces, and enter the game.

Whoever can win the hearts of the world will win, and whoever dies the key chess piece will also lose.

In the eyes of the spectators, with the perspective of the Supreme, the specific situation is clear at a glance, but the two sides of the game cannot directly see each other's chess pieces.

Qin Lingge asked: "Guess first?"

Qi Xuansu pondered for a moment: "No, please go first, Mr. Qin."

Qin Lingge smiled slightly: "Master Qi is really bold, but sometimes, one step slow will slow down all steps. I hope Master Qi will not regret it."

After that, Qin Lingge flicked his fingers and separated a wisp of soul and a thought, blending into a soul that looks like a light spot, falling towards the chessboard below.

Qi Xuansu followed suit, condensing into a light-point-shaped soul, and said lightly: "No regrets after making a move."

Before he finished speaking, Qi Xuansu flicked his fingers and also made a move.

The two light spots fell on the chessboard one after another, just like the immortals from heaven falling to the mortal world.

The game officially began.

The story in the book is uncertain, and the same world will evolve into countless stories, just like countless different world lines and countless parallel worlds.

The world today is the world of the Great Xuan Jiu Shi, which is the world of Taoism.

However, the story chosen by Qi Xuansu and Qin Lingge is the world of the Yongli period of the Great Wei, which is the world of the Confucian school.

During the reign of Emperor Shenzong of the Great Wei, Xuansheng died unexpectedly at the hands of the earth master Xu Zu. The internal fighting of the Taoist sect continued and it was torn apart, resulting in failure. The Confucian sect was finally defeated one by one. So this world is still the world of the Confucian sect, and the Great Wei Dynasty was able to extend for more than 200 years.

This is what is called having more or less people, some people who should die are not dead, and some people who are not dead are dead. There is a deviation from the real world and enters another completely different line.

The two players put down their chess pieces and plunged into this Confucian world, each replacing a character in the book.

It is like the reincarnation of the immortals in the sky, carrying the destiny.

This is the man of destiny.
