Primordial Dimensions
Chapter 218 - Searching For A Farmer
Shane didn't care much about the fact that he would steal the Shadow-snake valley's precious Nightshade flowers which the Shadow-snakes and pythons used to strengthen themselves.
In the end, their entire life didn't depend on the Nightshade flowers directly because the darkness transmuted mana was simply strengthening them, which was the reason for Shane to be so harsh.
Even if they required the darkness transmuted mana from the Nightshade flowers, he would take the majority.
Life was hard, even more so inside the Primordial Dimensions, where everyone was fighting to survive. The strong reigned the weak, and that was exactly what one could see right now.
In less than two hours, Shane's storage ring was filled with a large mountain of sealed, unscathed Nightshade flowers.
The only thing Shane did was to cut the flower from the roots to store them individually after sealing their life force and mana fluctuations inside them.
This allowed Shane to store them inside his spatial ring for the moment without the need to directly kill them.
Unfortunately, this was not a perfect solution and the life force within the roots would start seeping a few days after they had been sealed and stored away.
However, that was more than enough time for Shane to arrive inside the Shirai academy where he would be able to solve his issues about creating a farm.
'Does the Shirai academy have a student with a farming occupation?' Shane suddenly began to wonder, thinking that the government heavily focused on increasing everyone's combat prowess and the other occupations got sidelined.
Thanks to the value one could find inside the Primordial Dimensions, everyone wanted to gather more money and the only valuable lifestyle occupations included becoming a blacksmith, alchemist, or runemaster.
Unfortunately, other occupations where people worked as weavers, farmers, craftsmen, manufacturers, architects, and many more were forced to take a backseat, deemed as useless.
Shane thought that this was a stupid move. Humanity might be focusing on developing their combat prowess and becoming stronger, but only an overall development would really make them a mighty and powerful race.
If one was able to produce three times the amount of food currently available, there would be more than enough food for everyone, and at a low price at that.
This would allow humanity to use more space on Igra for something else.
Meanwhile, craftsmen and architects were equally important because it was extremely difficult and tedious to construct a mana reinforced shelter with multiple towers placed at strategic locations..
In Shane's opinion, humanity had to learn a lot and it was obvious that the human race was still at the nascent stage of developing into a strong basic race.
The number of shelters they possessed might have distracted a few races from noticing the obvious flaws mankind had in its development but based on what he had learned from his aunts and uncles so far, he sensed that they understood the problems better than others.
At least, if his assumptions were right.
From Shane's perspective, everyone was lamenting about certain things like feeble shelter walls, scarcity of resources that led to inflated prices of basic necessities such as food items and much more. This caused him to ask himself why nobody bothered about taking such an occupation from the system.
However, in the end, to do something like that, one had to rely on others as one's combat prowess would be weaker than others at the same cultivation stage.
Through an occupation, one received several benefits, and taking on a combat occupation would evidently increase one's combat prowess, while a farmer wouldn't receive combat-oriented benefits.
'I hope there is at least one person with a farmer occupation in the Shirai academy...if there is, it's highly likely that this person has a good quality in that occupation too...otherwise, he or she would have picked a combat-oriented occupation!'
Shane was still hoping that everything would work according to the things he imagined as the mountain of Nightshade flowers that was in front of him grew to a huge extent.
After performing the rather laborious task of cutting the Nightshade flowers from the roots which he sealed before storing both inside his spatial ring, Shane noticed that the mountain in front of him didn't seem to decline even after he was done with everything.
"There are more than 10,000 Trash quality Nightshade roots...not bad!" He mumbled before telling Umbra to allow the Shadow snakes and pythons to take the remaining Nightshade roots to plant them again.
Shane sealed them temporarily hoping that they would be strong enough to bloom new Nightshade flowers.
He set aside 100 Nightshade roots for himself in order to experiment with them from the huge pile of more than 10,000 Trash quality Nightshade roots before he took a look at his spatial ring.
He was well aware that the 10,000 Trash quality Nightshade roots could turn out as a huge source of income, however, because of Umbra's almost desperate request to leave them inside the Shadow-snake valley, Shane couldn't help but sigh, deciding to do as Umbra requested.
'Around 100 [Trash] quality roots, 1000 [Common] quality roots, [100] Uncommon] quality roots and 4 [Rare] ones...That's better than expected.'
Other than the number of [Trash] quality Nightshade flowers, the roots and nightshade flowers were exactly the same in number which was logical.
However, instead of messaging the Corvi merchant about his interest in selling the Nightshade flowers he acquired, Shane wanted to go back to Igra to find someone with a farmer occupation.
It was not a necessity and he could also look out for someone who was proficient with plants and flowers within the basic dimension, however, there were several useful skills one received by taking an occupation.
One of such skills was the "Advanced-Appraisal[Plants]", and someone with a high-quality farmer or rare herbalist occupation would possess that skill or a similar one.
As such, he told Umbra to leave the Shadow-snake valley behind. The shadow snakes and pythons could take care of themselves and there were still more than enough Nightshade flowers to supply everyone as long as they shared everything.
Though it was highly unlikely that the beasts would share the limited pool of resources peacefully, it was still a fact that the [Trash] quality Nightshade flower's darkness transmuted mana would be enough to supply everyone inside the Shadow-snake valley.
After Shane jumped on Umbra's back and grasped his horns signaling him to go ahead, Umbra roared in joy before he accelerated his speed to slither past the Shadow snakes and pythons that stiffened in fear.
**
Less than half an hour later, Shane's nightsight disappeared, exactly the moment he appeared in front of the BlackSoul shelter.
He had already stored Umbra inside the Hidden Paradise to avoid starting a commotion.
Greeting the guardian who was astonished that Shane had already returned, he couldn't help but smile as he showed him his identity that mentioned his name Shane Suro and race as human that was written on his status panel.
Running towards the Dimension Portal after he was allowed to enter the Shelter, Shane couldn't hold himself back anymore.
He was way too excited to figure out if he could plant and maybe even duplicate the Nightshade flowers inside his world.
Selecting the Shirai academy the moment he appeared in front of the Dimension Portal, Shane jumped through it before he emerged inside the Portal hall, the brightness dazzling his eyes.
For the last few weeks, his eyes had to endure lots of different bright environments which caused him to wonder if it would be bad for his eyes.
However, he had never heard about anyone having major issues by venturing to planets and dimensions with varying, intense sunlight.
An abrupt change in the landscape from complete darkness to bright light was annoying and discomforting, but other than that, nothing occurred.
Worse was the difference in gravitational force between planets which was no problem within the Primordial Dimensions.
Nobody knew how, but the Primordial Dimensions seemed to have customized gravitational force according to the planet an individual inhabited most of their time.
For example, if Shane were to live the rest of his life on Masua, the system would adjust Shane's gravitational force within the Primordial Dimensions after around 17 years because he lived on Igra for 16 years!
In the beginning, he found this weird, but after thinking about it for some time, he realised that it would be weird for some races to become as fast as cannonballs if their planet had a high gravitational force in comparison to a lower gravitational force inside the Primordial Dimensions.
There were also a few peculiar Dimensions that had a set gravitational force but humanity avoided them as they knew that Igra was a small planet compared to the gigantic planets inhabited by other basic races.
The universe was vast with hundreds of billion galaxies with each of them having hundreds of billion stars.
As such, the chances that there was a gigantic planet with living beings that had access to the Primordial Dimensions was not unlikely!
Shane couldn't even estimate how large or terrifying the universe was, but he knew that he would be as insignificant as a pebble even after attaining a perfect foundation.
Without a perfect foundation, he would probably be less significant than a grain of sand which was shocking, but still somehow managed to digest it.
After his eyes adjusted to the bright sunlight, he rushed towards the changing room in order to prevent attracting too much attention as a few days ago when he had walked outside the Portal hall in completely bloodied clothes.
Once he had changed his clothes, Shane called Aimy because he wanted to see her and Olivia again.
At the same time, he wanted to know more about students with a farmer occupation which was something he hoped to find among the large crowd of 500,000+ students.
Unfortunately, Aimy seemed to be busy right now as she didn't answer his call so Shane decided to try calling Olivia instead.
However, she was unreachable as well which made him think that they were together somewhere.
'I hope they didn't enter the Primordial Dimensions…'
Yet, before he could bother thinking about what he should do next, Shane's attention was attracted by a crowd of students that surrounded a few feeble-looking students.
Curious about what was going on, the first thing he heard caused his heart to flutter in joy
"Why the hell is trash that picks farming and building occupations allowed to enter the Shirai academy??? Don't waste the academy's precious resources and leave the academy...now!!"
'Is Artemis' blessing on good terms with me? How the hell can I be so fortunate?'
