Psycho X Psychic

Chapter 50 - Monster...

All of Iesa's body hair stood up as she trembled. She looked at Teren's thigh and arm. She had been complacent that it was just an illusion. If not, how can Teren move so normally?

Furthermore, she was shocked by the lightning bolt earlier. Only now did she realize the situation was severe!

"I should call an ambulance!" she felt her pockets and found no phone there.

"I left it!"

Seeing Iesa panicked made Teren laughed again.

Iesa frowned at him.

"Why are you laughing? Is this a prank? Is that really an illusion?"

"No, it's real but you're just so cute."

Iesa was about to rebuke but she stopped midway.

"C-cute...?"

"Also, don't call the ambulance. These are gunshots, the police will surely ask me about it. Let's escape here first, although the rain is loud, we can't be sure that there are no people who didn't hear it and called the police."

Iesa nodded and took Teren's hand.

"Let's go back.. but can you walk."

"I've had worse."

"I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing... but I'm not that strong to carry you."

"No need. If you want us to run, we can." Teren put up a thumbs up on his left hand.

"Ugh.. you're really a freak, not just a psychopath."

"Hahh..."

"But if you say so!" Iesa then ran, pulling Teren away, "Also, are you sure that lightning girl escaped? Maybe she will come back? I surely don't want to get struck by her."

"I don't think she will hurt us."

"Huh? She shot you!"

"Yeah but none is vital."

"Ahhh! I can't really follow you freaks!"

"Hahaha!" Teren just laughed.

They passed through the guard, not noticing them Teren and even Iesa this time.

"Wait,"

Teren said which made Iesa stopped. As she turned around, Teren carried her like a princess and jumped.

"Woah-!"

Iesa was startled at first but soon, puzzled. When a person jumped, they should fall down immediately, right?

But when Teren jumped, they kept going higher and higher until the fourth floor.

Softly landing on the fourth floor, Iesa stared baffled at him.

"No one was around except the guard so I thought we should just jump."

Teren then realized something.

"Ah, is it because I suddenly touched you? S-sorry!"

"I don't care about that! You can touch me all yo- no, I mean, how did you jump like that?"

"I just jumped. This is my limit since I can only use one leg. Also, what did you just s-"

"I keep getting surprised, what's next, you can teleport?"

"Not always. Only when necessary."

Iesa just sighed. If she's not a psychic herself then her whole world would've been blown away.

"Anyway, just come in."

"Okay, but what did you say earl-"

"Just come in!"

Both came in. The neighbors only heard muffled voices that were drowned by the intense rain.

"First-aid kit, where is it?" Iesa hurried and opened every cabinet.

"Here it is!"

Feeling ecstatic that there is one, she hurriedly went to Teren who is in the bathroom.

"Thanks... and also, the sewing kit?"

"What? Why would you need that?" Iesa asked as she opened the box.

"To close the wound obviously."

"..." Iesa stared speechless at him before sighing, "Actually, you know what? I'm tired of getting surprised. I'll go get it."

Teren chortled before looking at the first-aid kit. He nodded in satisfaction when he saw forceps.

When Iesa came back with the sewing kit, she saw a bullet on the floor while Terne was cleaning his wound with sweat on his face.

"Here's the sewing kit... you took the bullets out?"

Teren nodded which made Iesa shiver, thinking that he did it by himself. This was the first time she saw such a wound. She subconsciously held her arm.

"Umm... Iesa."

"Hm?"

"I will work on the wound on my thigh now."

"Okay... you need my help?" Iesa prepared herself and nodded.

Terne smiled awkwardly, "I mean, I have to remove my pants."

"Ah! right! Of course!"

Iesa stood up with a blush on her face.

"Sorry..."

"No, of course, it's fine."

Closing the door, Iesa leaned onto it. Her face flushed in red while her heart thumping wildly. She then asked.

"Umm, so after that, you can take a shower? I will lend you some clothes again."

"I'll just go home after this." Teren answered behind the door.

"Huh? Why?"

"I don't have any clothes."

"I just said I will lend you some."

"No... I don't think you have men's underwear. Iesa."

Iesa realized it was true while hearing Teren's light laughter. It would be weird if she has.

"Can't you go without one...?" she whispered.

"Huh? Of course not."

"You heard that!?" Iesa panicked.

"Loud and clear."

"Ahhh!! Just call me if you need anything! I'll change clothes again and clean all the mess we made."

"Okay."

Half an hour later, Teren was finally finished tending his wounds.

"Are you sure? I just thought of it but we can put them in the dryer while you shower."

Iesa said while Teren was about to leave. His clothes were no longer dripping wet but it was still wet and cold.

"I'm fine, I'll just take shower as soon as I go home."

"What if you catch a cold?"

"Iesa, I don't think I can catch a cold."

"Monster..." Iesa whispered while her eyes looked down. Teren was already outside while she was hiding behind the door again.

"Also,"

"Hm?" she looked up.

"Thank you."

Iesa saw Teren's smile... it was so genuine that she wouldn't be able to forget that face.

"I-it's fine. You..." she further hid behind the door, "can come anytime."

"Sure, I walk you home tomorrow again and we can watch that time."

Iesa silently nodded.

Somehow, Teren hesitated but with Iesa's umbrella in his hand, he walked away.

"Ah... see you tomorrow." Iesa then came out of her hiding.

"Yeah!" Teren waved and smiled before he turned to a corner and going down the stairs.

Iesa peeked and waited for her to see the top of an umbrella.

Only when Teren was out of sight did she come back to her apartment. After closing the door, she dropped onto the couch face down and wildly kicked with alternating legs.

"I shouldn't feel happy about it. He just got shot, I almost forgot...."
