Raven's Claw at Hogwarts

Chapter 13 Magic Perception and Meditation

Mike lay on the bed in his dormitory with his eyes open. The fire spell that Professor Flitwick showed him before was so shocking to him that he didn't even know how he walked out of the office and returned to his dormitory.

Magic can actually do that! It's ridiculous that he used to think that releasing magic was as simple as waving a wand and chanting a spell. Now that he thinks about it, he is completely a frog in the well.

Today he saw the power of magic for the first time, and finally understood the pride of wizards.

Just imagine, how can a group of "supermen" who can release spells with the power of heavy artillery by waving their wands at will, face a group of "mortals" who have no talent and are like ants, how can they treat them equally.

Mike even felt that it was a miracle that humans were not enslaved or killed by wizards before nuclear weapons were created.

The wizards at that time faced Muggles just like the Americans faced the local indigenous people when they pioneered the American continent. They were not on the same level in terms of power.

I believe everyone knows the fate of those indigenous people. They were almost killed to extinction.

You must know that Flitwick releases purple flames. Mike remembers that his master when he was a "chef" once told him that the temperature of red-orange flames is around 3000 degrees, which is also the most common flame we usually come into contact with.

As the temperature of the flame increases, its color will also change until it finally turns into ultraviolet light that is invisible to the naked eye. A flame of that degree would at least have a temperature of tens of thousands of degrees.

Although Mike didn't know the specific temperature of the purple flame, it was definitely above 3,000 degrees. A flame at this temperature could melt steel almost instantly.

A mere fire spell can achieve this level of success, but what about the more terrifying fire spell? The devil's flame, which will almost never go out without the use of a cracking spell, and becomes increasingly stronger, is as destructive as a nuclear weapon under certain circumstances!

Mike longs for this power!

Compared with this great power, my original ideal was to become a master. Simply worthless.

Thinking of this, Mike was so excited that he couldn't sleep.

But Mike had no idea what Flitwick meant about meditation and feeling the flow of magic.

The first is to feel the magic flow.

Professor Flitwick should have meant for him to feel the flow of magic during the process of releasing magic, but when Mike released magic, he always waved the wand and the spell was successful as soon as he recited it. He had never felt any magic.

Mike thought that he might not have noticed it when he cast the spell, so he casually released a fluorescent flash, but as before, he felt nothing.

Now Mike is a bit of a Muggle. For the increase in magic power, according to Professor Flitwick, he must be able to completely control his own magic. But Mike can't feel his own magic, so how can he control it?

After several more experiments, Mike used almost all the magic he knew, but the results were still disappointing.

In addition to being exhausted, he didn't even feel the slightest bit of so-called magic power. Gradually, Mike began to doubt his talent.

Perceiving magic may be a talent, just like he was born very lucky. People without talent will not be able to perceive magic no matter how hard they try.

But Mike did not give up. He, Mike, was so lucky that he could be reborn even if he was beaten to death. If feeling magic really requires talent, then he must have this talent.

After all, luck really can do whatever you want.

Mike did not believe in evil and began to search his memory carefully, trying to find the so-called magic power in the past spell casting process.

As the memory was opened bit by bit, Mike once again confirmed that he had never felt the so-called magic during the process of releasing the spell. Just as he was grabbing his hair frantically, he suddenly thought of it.

It doesn’t have to be when casting a spell!

Compared with the formulaic release of magic with the assistance of magic spells and wands, the supernatural phenomena caused by the magic burst are caused by oneself without any external force. So, are the magic fluctuations during the magic burst easier to detect?

Mike would immediately be reminded of his most recent burst of magic, the one at the Leaky Cauldron.

Although Mike was very angry that time and wanted to kill the wizard, he vaguely remembered that a force did seem to be released from his body at that time, and it felt like running water!

Having found hope, Mike almost immediately wanted to experiment with a magic burst, but his reason stopped him. If the magic burst out in the dormitory, there would definitely be big trouble.

You must know that Professor Flitwick had clearly warned him not to experiment with magic in the dormitory. Although Professor Flitwick's tone at the time was a bit like a joke, Mike did not think it was a joke.

Teachers prefer students who have excellent grades and are obedient, and they only caused trouble for Flitwick during the day. That night, they ignored his warning and caused a big explosion in the dormitory.

This will undoubtedly cause Flitwick's dissatisfaction.

Let’s leave the experiment for later. Mike has a perfect place for the experiment: the Room of Requirement!

After restraining himself, Mike decided to go to the Room of Requirement for experiments tomorrow. Although finding the Room of Requirement so quickly might attract the attention of Dumbledore, the old bee, time waits for no one.

As he grows older, magic riots become less and less common. In the past, Mike even had to actively suppress his emotions to ensure that magic riots did not occur.

And in the many days he entered Hogwarts, even if Mike let go of his emotions and even used emotional spell-casting skills, he did not trigger even a single magic riot.

At this time, Mike was very doubtful whether he could still trigger a magic riot.

But all this can only be known through experimentation.

Mike, who had decided on tomorrow's itinerary, began to think about another key word Professor Flitwick said: meditation.

Mike knew absolutely nothing about meditation; he had never heard of it until today.

No! He remembered! He had heard the word meditation once, from his wife, Amanda.

He remembered that his wife was very obsessed with yoga for a while. During that time, apart from cuckolding her with her damn yoga instructor, she would sit cross-legged on the yoga mat and not move. When Mike asked her about it, her answer was that she was meditating.

Is meditation just about sitting down with your legs crossed and your eyes closed?

Mike sat on the bed as he remembered Amanda doing before, but it didn't take long for him to feel sleepy.

His head with short blond hair floated in the air bit by bit, and finally, with a heavy nod, Mike fell asleep.
