The day before the game, Hector and Hermione were playing wizard chess in the Gryffindor common room. Ron taught them. Hector was not interested at first, until he saw chess pieces that could move, talk, and think independently. Hector quickly fell in love with this game. Hector first challenged Ron, who had the highest chess ability. He thought that this idiot would not be very good at chess given his usual class appearance. Maybe the description in the original book was a little exaggerated? Hector still had a fluke mentality. Then Hector was quickly taught a lesson by Ron in a very understated way.

Hector's scratching appearance also aroused Hermione's interest. However, even she lost miserably. Hector didn't believe in evil. He could say that he couldn't ride a broom better than Ron because he had strong limbs, but he really couldn't find an excuse to lose to him in wizard chess.

Unfortunately, Hector played several games with Ron in a row, and each time he lost inexplicably. Even when Hector and Hermione joined together to give each other advice, they still couldn't beat Ron, who was almost holding his head up to the sky on the other side of the chessboard.

It has to be admitted that every Weasley is a genius in some aspect.

The twin brothers Fred and George's ingenuity and endless ideas in developing magic joke products amazed Hector.

The grades of the eldest brother Bill and the third brother Percy were both excellent.

Although the second brother Charlie's grades were slightly inferior, Fred and George had boasted that Charlie was the one with the best Quidditch talent in their family.

As for Ron, he was only mediocre in his studies at home, and his flying talent was neither good nor bad, but Hector had to admit that Ron's talent in wizard chess was definitely top-notch.

However, high talent cannot determine everything. Ron was soon kicked out of the game by Hector on the grounds of disrupting the balance of the game. Then it became a situation where Hector and Hermione played against each other, and Ron sat on the side to watch the game.

Of course the chess pieces would boss Hector around, but after they saw the pre-swing of Hector's thunderbolt explosion, all the chess pieces softened their tone, and everything became negotiable.

They did whatever they were told to do and stopped talking back.

The king, who had the loudest voice at the beginning and always claimed that glory was supreme, suddenly became kind and gentle.

Even the chess pieces controlled by Hermione suddenly became silent, fearing that if the city gate caught fire, innocent people would be affected.

The game suddenly became quiet, which surprised Harry, who was used to the noisy chess pieces.

Ron immediately noticed that Harry looked very unhappy.

"You're here, Harry - what's wrong, you look terribly ill." Ron paused.

"You'd better not participate in the game. The referee is Snape. Compared with safety, a game is nothing. Let's just say you are sick, and your illness is serious."

"Pretend to break your leg," Hermione suggested.

"Or he really broke his leg." Hector stared at the chessboard absentmindedly and added, he didn't want to lose to Hermione, but given the current situation, it might not be easy to win.

"I say, Harry, relax, Snape won't do anything to you, and even if he does, he won't do it so blatantly. Wouldn't it be better to find a corner? It's too easy to be exposed when he casts a spell on you while sitting on a broom. It's your turn, Hermione."

"You never know. It was you and Hermione who stopped Harry from falling off the broom last time. Now Snape is sitting on the broom. If he wants to do something, no one can stop him."

Ron looked worried. He looked at Harry. Harry thought about it and shook his head.

"No, there is no substitute Seeker in the team, and if I don't join the Gryffindor team, I won't be able to play."

Hermione wanted to say something, but she was interrupted by Neville - Neville fell into the common room with his legs stuck together. It was hard to imagine how he got in through the hole in the Fat Lady's portrait.

It was a leg-locking curse, and Neville looked ridiculous. His bloated body hopped and hopped as he moved forward with difficulty. The little wizards in the Gryffindor common room all laughed, and only Hector and Hermione stood up quickly to remove the curse for him.

""What happened?" Hermione and Hector helped Neville over here. Harry took the initiative to make room for him. Hector took out a chocolate frog from his bag. He always had a large number of chocolate frogs in his bag.

"Malfoy," Neville seemed to have suffered a great injustice, his body trembled, his voice trembled,

"I ran into him outside the library. He said he had recently learned a new spell and wanted to practice with someone."

Harry and Ron stood up from their chairs. They always acted like this about Malfoy. Hermione also seemed very angry, but she was much more rational than the two reckless men who were ready to fight.

"Go find Professor McGonagall and tell him!"

Neville shook his head, his voice was crying, but Hector could hear his determination.

"I don't want to cause any more trouble."

"Neville, you must face him bravely! Malfoy is always domineering. If you give in to him, he will continue to bully you."

"Needless to say, I am timid and unworthy of staying in Gryffindor. Malfoy has already said so. Neville choked up and leaned on Hector's shoulder. Hector patted his back gently.

"No one said you weren't brave enough."Hector said to Neville. He saw his past self in the fat boy.

"Hector is right, the Sorting Hat chose you into Gryffindor, and what about Malfoy? In the annoying Slytherin. You are better than twelve Malfoys!"Harry looked at Neville's red eyes and said this very seriously.

""Okay, everyone, let him finish this chocolate frog." Hermione said, and Neville fumbled to open the package, his lips twitching and pulling out a weak smile.

"Thank you, Hector, do you want a picture card?"

Hector shook his head, and Neville handed the picture card to Harry. Harry was still very interested in collecting pictures.

"Another Dumbledore." Harry took the picture and put it in his hand. A familiar figure was on the picture, smiling kindly at the little wizards.

"I'll take him back to the dormitory first," Hector helped Neville stand up from the armchair. Hasn't he been looking for a good partner? Harry and Ron's performance really didn't satisfy Hector, so the fat boy in front of him might be a new option.

Although Neville's talent was not very good, he was patient, which was better than those two impetuous guys.

Harry and the others nodded, and Hector walked towards the tower with Neville.

""Hector, am I really a Gryffindor?" Neville sat on the bed and looked at Hector. Hector couldn't help but feel sympathy for this guy who was so similar to himself in his previous life. He looked into Neville's eyes and said seriously,

"Of course, Neville, of course you're a Gryffindor, the Sorting Hat is never wrong"

"But the Sorting Hat did consider putting me in Hufflepuff.I think I should go to Hufflepuff."

"The Sorting Hat wanted to put me in Ravenclaw, but I still came to Gryffindor."Hector sat next to him and patted Neville on the shoulder.

"But when Malfoy cast a spell on me, I didn't dare to resist at all." Neville paused and took a deep breath.

"And I knew you were going out on adventures at night, but I didn't dare to stand up to stop you - I was afraid you would ignore me, which would be very un-Gryffindor. Maybe the Sorting Hat really made a mistake, after all, it looks so old."

"The Sorting Hat never makes mistakes, Neville, never."Hector's tone was very firm. He stood up from the bed. Neville lowered his head and did not dare to look at him.

"Gryffindor represents courage, but courage is not impulsiveness, Neville. In some ways, Harry and Ron can't compare with you - they are too impulsive and never consider the consequences of doing things."Hector said,

"And you know how to think, you know what to do is right - this is very important, much more important than courage."

"Really, Hector?"Neville raised his head, and the tears that had been rolling in his eyes disappeared. Neville stared at Hector, and Hector looked at him firmly.

"Of course." Hector nodded.

"Courage is not limited to a narrow sense. Neville, being keen on exploring the unknown is courage. Thinking calmly in the face of suffering is also courage. Facing evil without yielding is courage. Carrying a mission and walking in the dark is also courage. When your friends and family are facing danger, standing up and taking the initiative to fight is even greater courage."

"But Hector, I haven't done any of these."

"I believe that when you really face these things one day, you will definitely be able to do it, Neville." Hector's words were full ofThis made Neville's eyes suddenly firm.

"Longbottom is great."

Neville stood up and looked at Hector with tears in his eyes again, but this time they were not tears of grievance.

"Dry your tears, Neville," Hector stood up,

"Gryffindor doesn't believe in tears, the wand is the answer"

"I want to learn something, Hector. Neville looked at Hector.

"The next time I face Malfoy, I will prove that I am a true Gryffindor - I know you can teach me."

Hector nodded with satisfaction.

"Of course, Neville, I will, but now, you need to get a good night's sleep."

Neville nodded, he forgot to wash up, and went straight into bed. Harry rushed up at this time, he looked anxious and happy,

""Hector, come down quickly." Harry shouted hurriedly, then turned and ran downstairs, with Hector following behind him. Hermione and Ron in the Gryffindor common room were just like Harry, with excitement written all over their faces. A large book was open on the table.

"We've found Nicolas Flamel," Harry pointed to a line in the book, then to the card Neville had given him.

"That big dog is guarding the Philosopher's Stone, and Snape is after it!"
