Rebirth in America

Chapter 145 The Wife of a Ku Klux Klansman

After leaving Houston, Alex followed the team on tour, staying for a week in big cities and two or three days in small and medium-sized cities. Depending on the local population and market environment, the whole city can be excited wherever you go.

In September, they came to Atlanta. This is the capital and largest industrial and commercial city of the U.S. state of Georgia. There are many black people in this city, and racial conflicts are more acute than in other cities. As the power held by black people grows stronger, so does their desire to improve their status.

The notorious Ku Klux Klan was also born here. There were two Klans in American history. One was founded shortly after the Civil War and disappeared in the 1870s. The other is the Ku Klux Klan, which was founded in Atlanta in 1951 and is very active today.

Not long ago, a white extreme racist broke into a black family's home and severely injured the family. They are extremely opposed to blacks, Catholics, and Jews, and are known for their terrorist and violent activities.

The Ku Klux Klan members brutally burned, killed, and plundered black people, white people who supported black people, and progressive workers in an attempt to reassert the supremacy of white people.

Forrest is a member of the Ku Klux Klan. He is an ordinary worker in Atlanta and has lived on this land for generations. As a white man, he was very proud of his ancestry and discriminated against other people of color, especially black people.

His name is the same as Forrest, the former federal army general in history who was involved in the slave trade and was the first leader of the Ku Klux Klan.

When Forrester was born, his family was feeling the pressure of black migration. Many white jobs had been taken away by blacks, and his parents also lost their jobs. In order to make their son proud of his white blood, Forrest's parents gave him such a meaningful name.

"You have to remember! We white people are the best race!"

Forrest has listened to his father's teachings since he was a child, and he is proud of his name. In 1951, the new Ku Klux Klan was established in Atlanta. He was one of the first veterans of this organization, and he devoted a lot of time and effort to realize his ideals.

Whenever night comes, they will gather together to exchange experiences in resisting black infiltration and share the hatred brought about by the expansion of black power.

That night, on a small street in Atlanta shrouded in darkness, dots of fire were moving slowly, and they were burning torches.

A group of people wearing white robes, masks, and pointed hats held torches, trumpets, placards, etc. They were both men and women, shouting slogans at the top of their lungs and coming from all directions.

In this area where black people gather, many people immediately closed their doors tightly when they saw these people coming out to demonstrate. These residents peeked out from the gaps in the tightly covered curtains.

The people demonstrating were members of the Ku Klux Klan, and this was almost something they had to do every month.

Forrester was also in the team. He was also wearing the standard uniform of the Ku Klux Klan. Under the mask was a face that was red with excitement. He chanted slogans and opened his mouth so wide that a large concave hole was clearly visible on his mask.

"Niggas get out of Atlanta!"

"Niggas get out of Atlanta!"

“Long live the white man!”

“Long live the white man!”

He walked at the front of the team, holding the Ku Klux Klan flag high. He had been doing so for several hours, and his arms felt a little sore.

The flag is a white background with a black border and a red background, with a cross on the circular pattern. The center of this cross is an upright square, and in the center of the square is a red pattern like magatama.

When the time came to 12:30 in the evening, their parade finally came to an end.

Forrester hugged his other friends goodbye, and after work, he came over to prepare for the parade. It is estimated that his wife has been impatient for a long time, and he wants to rush home immediately to avoid unnecessary worries.

He has been married for more than ten years, but for some unknown reason, they have never been able to have children. Mr. and Mrs. Forrester went to the hospital for examination, but could not find the problem. They once considered adopting one, but due to family financial reasons, they were unable to realize this idea.

Not having children, not going well at work, poor finances and other troublesome things have always made Forrester feel depressed and in a bad mood. After joining the Ku Klux Klan six or seven years ago, he finally found his life goal and worked hard for it.

Because he was too keen on the activities of the Ku Klux Klan, he spent less and less time with his wife, and their relationship was very cold. Forrester thought about bringing his wife into the party. Unfortunately, his wife was one-quarter Jewish and did not meet the conditions for joining the party. What's more, the wife herself is not interested in such activities.

Forrest's body is exhausted, but his spirit is full and full. He felt that today passed quickly and passed in the blink of an eye. After participating in KKK activities every day, he would feel a sense of joy.

"Jenny! Jenny, I'm back!"

Forrest shouted loudly before he entered the door. The strange thing was that the house was quiet, as if no one was home.

When he opened the door, he found that the lights in the house were not turned on and it was pitch dark. This made Forrester feel a little scared, his excitement suddenly dropped, and his heated mind began to calm down.

"Jenny? Are you at home? Have you slept?"

I shouted several times, but no one responded. It seemed that no one was really home. Jenny didn’t sleep either, as if no one lived here. The utensils and stove in the kitchen showed no signs of being used.

A piece of paper lay on the table, dazzling under the light.

It read: "Forrest, I'm leaving, please don't look for me!"

Looking at the words above, Forrester then reflected on whether he had not cared about Jenny in the past few years and whether he had devoted too much time to the activities of the Ku Klux Klan.

"Oh, no, no, no, Jenny!"

He lowered his head in pain and pulled his hair hard with both hands. Feelings of regret, guilt, and pain surged into his heart, and unknowingly, tears filled his eyes.

After his mood calmed down a little, he realized: "Jenny should not have gone far yet, and she can still catch up."

"She must be brought back, otherwise everything I do will be meaningless."

After he stood up, he wanted to rush out the door to chase Jenny. But he didn’t know where to go. He thought about it and felt that calling Jenny’s parents or friends would definitely not give him the answer.

Suddenly, he saw a piece of newspaper with a large piece cut off, apparently by Jenny. He seemed to remember that it was a report about a concert. Jenny liked music. Maybe she went to the concert to relax.

"Yes, that must be the case. Jenny was just unhappy for a moment, so she left such a note. She will come back when her mood stabilizes."

Forrester comforted himself, but he didn't have much confidence in his heart. He recalled it carefully and suddenly remembered that his wife's favorite song was the Carpenter Brothers' song.

"Alex's concert! Yes, I remember a party member told me the news today, saying that Alex Carpenter came to Atlanta."

After having a direction in his mind, Forrester finally stopped being so panicked. He thought for a while and took out all the cash from home, which was the money he had hidden from Jenny. Then I hurriedly came outside the stadium and found that the morning concert had ended.

However, there were still many people at the scene, gathering in twos and threes, as if they were waiting for someone. Forrester didn't know what these people wanted to do. He planned to turn around and go back and come back to find his wife tomorrow. He thought about finding someone to buy a ticket, but even if he went in, there was no way to find Jenny among so many people, so he gave it up.

"Hey, they're coming out!" Those who were waiting suddenly shouted.

Forrester followed the gazes of those people and saw a large car driving out. Only then did he realize that these people were die-hard fans. After the concert, they were all waiting for their idol to come out and wanted to meet him.

More than one car came out, one after another. They were all tourist buses that were bigger than buses. The facilities inside are complete, and you can eat, drink, and relax there when you have time. You don’t have to come down for a week. One of the cars followed at the end and actually stopped.

Those people immediately surrounded them, and amid the screams, someone could vaguely hear shouting: "Me, me, me! Please choose me, UUReading www.uukanshu.net I want to go up."

Someone else shouted: "I like Alex the most!"

"I love Chuck!" "I love Little Richard!" "I love Buddy the most!"

Seeing these crazy fans, each one desperately wanted to squeeze into the car, shouting that they liked so-and-so.

"Huh, what a bunch of idiots. What's wrong with worshiping? They actually worship those actors who have no appearance!"

Forrest, who was about to leave, glanced at the car, suddenly paused, and rushed over in a hurry.

"Jenny! Jenny! Come down quickly! Come back with me!"

It was too far away and too noisy over there, so I might not have heard it. In fact, no one paid any attention to his shouts. By the time Forrester ran over, the car had already closed its door and driven away.

"Don't, don't go! Jenny, come down quickly!"

"Jenny..."

Although it was so far away and it was night, Forrest was still sure that what he saw was Jenny. The couple who have been together for more than ten years can no longer be familiar with each other. That must be Jenny, he was sure of it.

It's just that the figure is both familiar and unfamiliar. He has never seen such a dazzling side of his wife, not even when they got married.

It was as if new life had been injected into her, and she was glowing with youthful vitality.

Is she still his wife, the same Jenny?

Forrester felt confused, angry at being betrayed, and a little frustrated.
