According to the design of later generations of aircraft carriers, the ski-jump takeoff runway is divided into long and short points. The short runway is only 105 meters, and the long point is 195 meters. When using the long point, a J-15 of more than 30 tons can take off fully loaded. Therefore, the so-called ski-jump takeoff cannot allow the fighter jet to take off fully loaded, which is definitely an amateurish statement.

Of course, when it comes to takeoff efficiency, ski-jump takeoff can never compare to catapult takeoff, but there is no way, who made us unable to produce qualified catapults for the time being?

However, testing definitely needs to be done step by step. The old Maozi did the same when testing, digging out potential little by little.

Each takeoff consumes fuel and precious airframe and engine life, so save as much as you can.

"That's right, and you don't need to increase half a ton each time, just increase one ton each time," the radar officer also said.

This can reduce the number of takeoffs a lot.

"Okay, then start from 23 tons, increase one ton each time, and when it increases to 30 tons, increase half a ton each time, until the maximum takeoff weight!"

The flame deflector is a hydraulically rotating rectangular plate. When the aircraft takes off, placing the flame deflector behind it can ensure the safety of personnel on the deck, otherwise the hot airflow may blow to the back, causing danger.

At the same time, the flame deflector can also slightly increase the thrust of the engine, of course, not much, only a few percent.

Almost all modern aircraft carriers have this device, but there are also a few exceptions. For example, the aircraft carrier of A San does not have this device. Since the takeoff point is directly on the edge of the left deck, the engine exhaust directly faces the sea, so there is no need for it.
