In the beginning, there were several manufacturers that obtained X86 architecture authorization, but in the end, only Intel and AMD remained after the weeding out. Although the East also had companies that obtained it, in the long run, it was not of great significance.

Now it's only the 1980s, are we going to follow in other people's footsteps?

She also made a determination: "My greatest wish is to prostrate myself on the ground and wipe away the shame on my motherland!"

This is a respectable old man! Of course, he is still a middle-aged man now, so Qin Yang changed his title from Old Huang to Engineer Huang.

In later generations, the birth of Loongson was very difficult. There were blockades everywhere. First, the MIPS architecture was used, and then the LoongArch was independently developed, but there was no ecosystem, and it could only survive in the cracks between Intel and AMD, focusing on embedded devices and national defense.

Now it is only the 1980s, and computers have not yet risen. Now that we are starting, we can definitely open up a new world. After Loongson occupies the domestic market, all software will have to be developed according to the Loongson processor! This way, the ecosystem will naturally rise.

Obtaining Intel's authorization is useless, because the instruction set is constantly increasing.

When X86 was first born, it was only used on the 8086. Later, with continuous development, from 286 to 486, the number of instruction sets continued to increase. In the multimedia era, multimedia instruction sets were expanded, and in the 64-bit era, 64-bit instruction sets were added. Only the initial authorization was obtained, and subsequent instruction sets were not authorized, and one's own processor would be finished.

Even AMD was almost crippled by this. Intel did not authorize it, and they developed their own instruction set. Later, they filed a lawsuit, and finally they authorized each other. However, in this industry, only Intel and AMD are playing, and other companies have disappeared into history.

Even if Loongson obtains the X86 instruction set now, it will not be able to obtain extended instruction sets in the future. When it threatens Intel's existence in the future, can it still expect others to give authorization?

It is better to start anew now and engage in LoongArch. As for what this thing is, Qin Yang doesn't know, but he doesn't need to know. Just let the people below do it.
