#32 - Gotta earn work points.

Chapter 32: Earning Work Points

Chen Fan slept covered by his quilt for an unknown amount of time, and when he woke up, the effects of the alcohol had worn off.

He wanted to continue hiding under the covers, but he worried that he wouldn't be able to sleep at night, and he also didn't know what time it was, or if it was time to make dinner, so he got out of bed and put on his clothes.

He walked out of the room, looked up at the sky, the sky was still gloomy, and a flock of birds flew by. They were too far away, and he couldn't see what kind of birds they were, but they weren't pigeons.

Actually, even if the birds were right in front of him, he wouldn't necessarily recognize them. He only knew sparrows, pigeons, parrots, magpies, cuckoos, owls, and egrets. He wasn't familiar with other birds.

He stretched lazily and walked towards Jiang Lili's room, wanting to ask her if she knew the time.

There wasn't even a clock here, which was really inconvenient, and he didn't know how they usually told the time.

But before he could reach the door, the courtyard door was knocked, and then the two doors were pushed open, "Chen Fan, Chen Fan?"

Chen Fan turned his head and saw that it was Yang Ju again.

At this time, Jiang Lili also came out, looked at Chen Fan, then at Yang Ju, and stood aside without saying anything.

Chen Fan looked at Yang Ju, and before he could speak, he heard her shout, "My dad wants you to go to a meeting."

"A meeting?"

Chen Fan was stunned, "What kind of meeting?"

Could it be a study session?

Jiang Lili had just said that there were many meetings in the production team during the winter, but he didn't expect one to come so soon?

Yang Ju walked in while saying, "My dad didn't say, he just told you to go quickly."

Chen Fan looked at Jiang Lili, "Well, should Little Jiang go?"

Yang Ju was immediately put in a difficult position, "My dad didn't say."

Alright.

Chen Fan turned around and said to Jiang Lili, "For safety's sake, why don't you come with me?"

Jiang Lili thought for a while, "Okay, then I'll go with you first, and if it's not about me, I'll come back."

Going and coming back was just an extra trip, but if it really involved her and she didn't go, that would be a big problem.

She turned around, closed the door, and followed behind Chen Fan as they walked out.

Soon they arrived at Captain Yang's house, and sitting inside were also Accountant Liu, Storekeeper Huang, and Liu Jujiang.

Seeing Chen Fan come over, Captain Yang nodded to him, "Sit down."

Then he looked at Jiang Lili and said with a smile, "Little Jiang doesn't need to participate in this matter."

"Oh."

Jiang Lili's eyes dimmed obviously, and she forced a smile, "Then I'll go back first."

Seeing Captain Yang nod, she glanced at Chen Fan again, and found that Chen Fan was smiling at her, and her mood suddenly became much lighter, and then she turned and walked out.

Chen Fan pulled out a chair and sat down, looking at Captain Yang, "Captain, what's the matter?"

Could it be related to the turtles again?

Otherwise, what important things could he, a newcomer who had only been here for two days, participate in?

Captain Yang took a puff of his cigarette and said, "This is the situation. Didn't we kill a turtle today, and the whole team ate turtle meat? Captain Zhang from the brigade headquarters called me over to ask about the situation. He expressed his appreciation and praise for your ability to cook turtles and your selfless sharing of the method.

It's just that our Lujiawan has 12 production teams, and now only our 6th team has eaten turtle meat. The other 11 brother production teams haven't eaten it yet, so Captain Zhang proposed that we are a proletarian team, and we should share everything good together and not be selfish.

The meaning is to teach the method of cooking turtles to the people of the other teams. The only two people who can cook this turtle are you and Master Liu, so this burden will fall on your shoulders."

So that's what it was?

Chen Fan looked at Liu Jujiang and found that his expression hadn't changed at all, so he must already know. He turned his face and nodded to Captain Yang, "Okay, I have no problem."

After a pause, he asked again, "When will the people learning to cook turtles come over?"

He had experience with this kind of thing. It was like organizing training. They would definitely call the people from below up, teach them, and then they would go back and teach others, which would be more efficient.

But Captain Yang shook his head, smoking his cigarette and saying, "It's not them coming over. This matter will require you to work hard and run to each team."

Chen Fan, o_o?

He had to go himself? Not them coming over?

Captain Yang smiled and said, "I also discussed this with Captain Zhang. At first, I also suggested letting the other teams send one or two people over to learn, and you could teach them all at once, and then they could go back and teach others, which would save more time.

But Captain Zhang's idea is that the best way to learn a skill is to learn directly from the master. If they send people over to learn from you, they can only learn 80% at most. By the time it goes through another person, it's estimated that only half will be left.

But if you go directly to teach, it's different. Everyone in the team can come and learn and do it together, so everyone will have 70% or 80%. If they exchange ideas with each other later, even if they don't reach your level, they should still be able to get 80% or 90%, right?

I thought about it, and I also think what the captain said is right. Moreover, if you two divide it up, one is responsible for 5 teams, and the other is responsible for 6 teams, and then go to two places a day, which is only two or three days. It won't delay much time. What do you think?"

Liu Jujiang smiled, "The brigade commander has spoken, so I definitely have to go."

Chen Fan nodded along, "I am also very willing to do my part."

Then a look of difficulty appeared on his face, "But, ..."

When Captain Yang saw this, he thought to himself, he's going to make a request.

Immediately, he took a puff of his cigarette and said with a smile, "Are you worried about working for nothing? Don't worry, Mr. Li also said, 'The principle of distribution in the people's commune is still distribution according to work.' Since you have worked, you must have work points. This time, you will not only have to work, but also spend most of your time on the road, so we won't do 'fixed points and fixed records'. We will follow the principle of 'piecework recording'. One team counts as 10 points, so those who run to 5 teams will be recorded as 50 work points, and those who run to 6 teams will be recorded as 60 work points."

Hearing this, Liu Jujiang, who had been half-dead just now, instantly perked up, "Captain, don't worry, I guarantee I will complete the task."

Chen Fan opened his mouth, still thinking in his head, so there are several ways to record work points in the production team?

When he heard Liu Jujiang's voice, he realized it and quickly said, "Thank you, Captain."

He wouldn't be polite and refuse the work points that were handed to him, not to mention that Liu Jujiang was next to him. If he refused, what would he do? So he didn't even say a word of politeness and directly agreed.

Now there was only one last question left.

He looked at the few people with a worried face and asked in a low voice, "Captain, I don't know if those places are far away? If it's too far, I'm afraid I won't be able to walk!"

When he was standing on the dike yesterday, he looked into the distance. It seemed that the closest place was half an hour away?

Going to 5 or 6 teams, how long would it take?
