Reborn My Name Is Kobe

Chapter 23: The Secret Door

I patted Jessica on the shoulder and told her that there should be no problem here now. If the weird atmosphere before disappeared, then it is very likely that someone had done something here after we last came here.

Transformation.

But think about it carefully, what kind of person would do such a thing? Thinking about the strange statements made by the managers when I just entered the door, I couldn't help but become more confused. Are what they said true or false?

They told us the haunted house just opened yesterday, but it certainly wasn't yesterday the last time we were here, and I was at a Toronto Raptors home game yesterday, but what if they were telling the truth?

If so, it means that there was another group of people they didn't know who pretended to be the managers of this haunted house and opened the haunted house for a period of time in advance, and their behavior has not been discovered by the current managers.

Thinking of this, I took Jessica's hand and led her to the second floor.

Jessica saw that my eyes were very firm, so she didn't ask me too many questions, but followed me once again on the stairs that creaked as I walked up.

When we went up to the second floor, the scene in front of us had some changes that were not easily noticed by others, but I was very keenly aware of these changes.

One of the changes is that the positions of the portraits originally placed on both sides of the corridor have changed, because what happened when I came here last time left such a deep impression on me that I often think about it after I go back.

Or I was reliving that experience in a dream, so I was particularly impressed by these portraits, and I could even see the changes in their position and relationship at a glance.

"Did you see anything wrong?" Jessica's eyes changed when she looked at me, so she asked me.

"I can confirm that the portraits in this corridor have been moved by people, and they are not moved randomly, but they should be moved very regularly based on a certain principle."

"Can you even see this?" An incredible expression appeared on Jessica's face.

"I can tell you with certainty that yes, the positions of these portraits appear repeatedly in my dreams. That must mean something important. Let me see which portraits have been moved.

Yeah."

"Well, the portraits here should all be of people who have lived in this manor, because some people also appear in the black and white photo in the study, but not everyone can be in it.

Found it, maybe there are portraits of people from several generations here." I continued to analyze.

When I gently touched the portraits with my hands, a strange feeling appeared in my mind, as if the portraits were alive.

I tried hard to expel this terrible thought from my mind, but it was obvious that I couldn't control these feelings just by relying on my own willpower.

Just like the memories of my past life are now chaotically intertwined with some of Kobe's memories of this life, I haven't even been able to deal with this problem yet, and more ancient memories about this manor are like a slideshow

The same thing rushed into my mind. Every time I came into contact with a portrait, these pictures would gradually become richer.

I started to watch some of the things that happened in this manor from the first-person perspective of different characters. However, there were too many of them. I felt so tired and wanted to close my eyes and take a nap.

When I woke up again, I only saw Jessica squatting in front of me in fear, while I was sitting sideways on the old floor. However, although the floor here was old, it could be said to be almost spotless and very clean.

It's hard to imagine that someone could completely clean up the fine dust on the floor full of broken wood chips.

"How long have I been unconscious?" I asked Jessica, touching my still aching head.

"You seem to have been asleep for about ten minutes. I have been thinking hard.

I want to wake you up, but you seem to have entered a very deep dream, just talking in your sleep that I don't understand, but you still can't be woken up by me."

"Only ten minutes? But I feel like I have been sleeping for a whole day, and I have experienced the life experiences of at least ten people. It is really terrible. The secrets buried in this manor are so terrible!"

"You must be psychic. The souls that were originally attached to these portraits told you their life experiences through this method, but why, why are they still trapped in this manor?

La?"

"Perhaps just like what is said in those fantasy movies, there is a very evil guy who committed unspeakable horrific crimes in this manor, and trapped the souls of the victims in this manor forever.

On some of the objects, I can only see part of these people's memories. Each of them has a very important part of their memory that has been forcibly sealed. Whenever I seem to be about to enter this part of that person's memory,

When I was in it, a more powerful force pulled me away into the memory of another person."

"So this evil force is still acting on these poor souls. It not only prevents them from finding rest, but also blocks their attempts to seek help from outside. But will this evil force directly attack us?

ah?"

Jessica suddenly plunged her head into my arms, which surprised me a little. Her cute appearance made me unable to bear to lift her head up, but soon she returned to normal, except for the corners of her eyes.

It has some tears.

"We may have no choice. When we entered this haunted house for the first time, we already had some mysterious connection with this haunted house, so that even after I left here, I flew tens of thousands of feet

High in the sky, thousands of kilometers away from Los Angeles, I can't escape its impact on me, so unless the situation here is completely resolved, this matter will definitely continue to cause us deep trouble."

"By the way, last time we found that the stairs leading to the third floor were destroyed, and in your dream later, the stairs were intact again, so now let's go and take a look, maybe the stairs will really be damaged again.

Maybe it will be repaired again just like in your dream."

I nodded heavily and stood up with support. Fortunately, my body was strong enough. Except for my head, which was still a little dizzy, I felt pretty good in other aspects.

We strode forward, taking a look as we passed by those rooms. I found that the study door where we found the ancient documents last time had been completely nailed shut, no matter how hard I tried to push it.

Even if I kicked the door hard, there was no movement at all, as if there was a huge and heavy cabinet behind the door holding it tightly.

Maybe if I let Shaq give it a try, I would have a chance. Thinking of this, I couldn't help but shake my head, wondering what kind of reaction Shaq would have if this happened to him?

The other rooms were still as tightly closed as when we came last time. I didn't kick in the doors of one room after another. I didn't think that would bring any different results.

Finally we came to the stairs leading to the third floor that had been destroyed before. At this time, it appeared in front of us perfectly intact as if by magic. Even when we walked up, it didn't even make a sound of coming up from the first floor.

However, this made me even more uneasy. I felt that the stairs under my feet were becoming more and more unreal, and I was afraid that they might disappear out of thin air at any time.

But fortunately, that didn't happen. The third floor actually didn't look any different except that it was dirtier and more shabby. However, it looked more like it had been vacant for at least several decades.

There was a strong musty smell coming from the room, and there were spider webs everywhere, making it difficult for us to move forward.

Jessica and I stood in front of the stairs that came up and did not go forward. The situation in front of us was far beyond our expectations. I originally thought that the third floor should not be big, but at least it shouldn't be.

It's much smaller than the second floor, but the situation in front of us is that only the door of one room on the entire third floor appears in our sight, and the other places are filled with some shabby debris.

Jessica and I were both staring at the strange-looking door in front of us, unable to muster up the courage to walk through it for the time being. It wasn't that I was really afraid of the door itself, but the presence of it.

There is something really wrong with the environment and the special feeling it gives people.

"Are we going to open that door? Will the answer be behind that door?"

Jessica's voice was very low, so low that maybe only she could hear it clearly. I didn't answer her, and my mind couldn't help but flood with memories. The memories of many people flooded into my mind again, but this time

They are faster, more chaotic, and they are all saying the same thing.

"Open that door!"

"Open that door!"

"Hurry up and open that door!"

"We're going out!"

"hurry up!"

"hurry up!"

"Let us out!"

In the end, I tightly grabbed Jessica's body that wanted to move forward, and then hugged her tightly in my arms. Maybe she was also frightened by my sudden behavior.

I didn't explain too much, I took her hand and ran down the stairs. My speed was a bit fast, and I almost pulled Jessica to the ground, but I didn't care so much.

When we were only a few steps away from the stairs, there was a strange laughter behind us. It was the same high-pitched sound we heard last time, and now it appeared here again.

And when we looked at the stairs carefully, we found that there were stairs leading to the third floor. Everything was still the same as what we saw last time.

Jessica's and I's backs trembled involuntarily, and I didn't care what to say and continued to pull Jessica out of the haunted house.

When we finally ran out of the haunted house, we found that the staff who had welcomed us in had long since disappeared. Even the administrator's office where they had stayed had turned into a very shabby place.

It's a terrible little dark room, and it seems like no one has been in this little dark room for a long time.

Jessica and I fled here desperately, because we were a little worried about her mental state. I stayed with her all afternoon, but the words coming out of her mouth became less and less, and her eyes kept blinking from time to time.

She became sluggish, and I didn’t know what to do, so I drove her back home.

Jessica is the only one living in her big family at this time. Her parents should be traveling overseas at this time of year. In fact, her parents spend most of the year traveling around the world.

Sika has been like this since she was very young.

I made her a cup of hot coffee, but even so, her body was still shaking, which made me feel a little scared. I couldn't think rationally about what happened today.

However, I have no more choices. I still need to go all out to face the next game against the Eagles tomorrow. I slept on the sofa in Jessica's living room that night. Unfortunately, there was no more choice.

What a terrible thing happened, she slept very hard all the time, and I left Jessica's house early the next morning.

It's strange to say that the memories of that haunted house that originally haunted me seemed to disappear out of thin air and never appeared again, but I have not forgotten what happened there.

Everything, maybe one day in the future the terrible memories those people have experienced will appear in my mind again.

We can only wait until after the game against the Eagles tomorrow. Maybe we really have to find time to go to the psychic who can channel with Jessica. Maybe we can find some way to get rid of all this completely.
